Country Artists Nominated For People’s Choice Awards!

The first round of nominees for this year’s People’s Choice Awards have been announced. Several country faves are up for awards.

Nominees for “Favourite Male Artist Of The Year” include Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, and Kenny Chesney.

Country contenders included the in the “Favourite Female Artist Of The Year” category are Taylor Swift and Miranda Lambert.

Eric Church received a nomination for “Favourite Album Of The Year” for his current release, Chief, as well as Lady Antebellum with Own The Night and Shelton with Red River Blue.

Several country artists are recognized in the category for “Favourite Headline Tour Of The Year”, such as Urban, Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland, and Swfit.

In addition, nominees for “Favourite Country Artist Of The Year” are The Band Perry, Shelton, Brad Paisley, Urban, Jason Aldean, Chesney, Lambert, Lady A, Rascal Flatts, Swift, Zac Brown Band, and Sugarland.

Scotty McCreery Will Perform At CMAs

The Country Music Association (CMAs) announced additional performers to the CMA Awards this morning. American Idol Scotty McCreery will make his award show debut performance on the November 9th telecast. Joining him in the announcement this morning is Sara Evans, Martina McBride, Sugarland, and the Zac Brown Band.

The 45th annual Country Music Association awards airs live on ABC on November 9th from 8 to 11 pm EST from the Brigestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. The awards are once again co-hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood.

Previous performers include Faith Hill, Jason Aldean, Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts with Natasha Bedingfeld, Brad Paisley with Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, The Band Perry, Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift, Thompson Square, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Lady Antebellum, Chris Young, and Kenny Chesney with Grace Potter.

Taylor Swift & Jason Aldean Lead Country’s 2011 American Music Award Nominations

Taylor Swift will once again be representing country music at the 2011 American Music Awards on November 20th. She leads all country artists with three nominations, including the Artist Of The Year category where she goes up against Adele, Lady GaGa, Lil Wayne and Katy Perry. Her other nominations include Country: Favorite Female Artist and Country Music: Favorite Album. Jason Aldean comes in at second with two nominations, for Country: Favorite Male Artist and Country: Favorite Album. The Band Perry tie Jason Aldean in nominations and will go up against him in Country: Favorite Album, and also earned one in Country: Favorite  Band, Duo or Group.

Other country stars earning nominations include Lady Antebellum, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley, Sara Evans, and the Zac Brown Band. For a full list of country nominations see below.

Zac Brown: The Next Great TV Chef?

Looks like Zac Brown really loves his eat and greets. The lead singer of the Zac Brown Band told the Associated Press in an interview that he’d love to do a tv cooking show one day. The group right now cooks for their fanclub members before each show in their version of meet and greets. The father of four feels that his life is entertaining enough to get on tv regularly.

“We’ve talked about it,” Brown said about possibly doing a cooking TV show. “We’ve filmed a lot of the stuff, a lot of the cooking elements of our stuff to possibly put a show together, and we definitely will do that one day.”

Zac Brown Band Announce Fall Headlining Dates

The Atlanta boys are getting ready to hit the road again: but this time without Kenny Chesney. The Zac Brown Band just announced a short list of head lining tour dates this Fall, starting September 15th in Boise, Idaho at the Taco Bell Arena. Sonia Leigh will be featured as the special guest on their tour, who is signed to their Southern Ground Records. She’ll release her debut album “1978 December” on September 27th. Nic Cowen, who is also signed to their label, will also join the tour.

The Zac Brown Band will once again host the Southern Ground Music And Food Festival in Charleston, South Carolina as part of their headlining dates. For a list of tour dates click the “read more” button.

Zac Brown Band Teams up with Jack Daniels

Officially kicking off at ZBB’s upcoming sold-out two-night stand September 5th and 6th at Red Rocks in Morrison, CO., the partnership will include U.S. and Canada advertising and promotional activities, a dedicated responsibility campaign, and co-presenting tour support. It is the first major partnership between the famed distillery and a musical artist in more than a decade. 

“There is a natural affinity between Jack Daniel’s friends and Zac Brown Band fans,” said Jeff Arnett, Jack Daniel’s Master Distiller.  “They are folks who embrace authentic values, love great music and the spirit of friendship.  We couldn’t be happier to partner with ZBB.”

British Country Music Award nominations announced

The 2011 British Country Music Award nominations were announced this morning, and some familiar names have made the cut overseas. Brad Paisley, Lady Antebellum, Toby Keith, the Zac Brown Band and the Secret Sisters have all earned nominations in the International Act of the Year category. It’s the only category that contains international names, but it’s great to see country music is alive and well across the world!

The Zac Brown Band Gets "Knee Deep" on ‘The Today Show’

Zac and his guys shook up NYC with a performance on NBC-TV’s “The Today Show”. They serenaded the emmensely large crowd with “Knee Deep” and their first smash hit “Chicken Fried”. The Grammy-award winning group also received a plaque for their album “You Get What You Give” reaching Platinum status! Congratulations, guys! Well deserved!
