CMT Announces Additional Performers

CMT have announced additional performers for their June 6th award show, and it’s sure to stand out from other line-ups this year. Performing on the telecast will be The Band Perry, Pistol Annies, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Toby Keith, Rascal Flatts, Willie Nelson, and Hank Williams Jr.

This year’s award show will air live on CMT and CMT.com on June 6th live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, hosted by Toby Keith and Kristen Bell. We’ll be there so stay tuned to Keepin’ it Country.

Bamajam Adds Willie Nelson & Uncle Kracker To Lineup

Country music legend Willie Nelson, Uncle Kracker, and group NEEDTOBREATHE to its already impressive line-up of performers for the June country music festival in Alabama. The 2012 edition of Bamajam takes place June 14th through to the 16th in Enterprise, AL with previously announced superstar performances by Zac Brown Band, Alan Jackson, Kid Rock and Tim McGraw. Even more major artists will be announced as the date gets closer!

Specially-priced 3-day tickets are available for a limited time price of $119 at bamajam2012.com and ticketfly.com. They also have a very unique ticket package that will allow fans to be one of the very rare, and very few, people on-stage during performances. Those special tickets sell for $999 each, and once they’re gone – they’re gone!

Kellie Pickler To Guest Host Willie’s Roadhouse Station Today

Kellie Pickler has been all over the place this year promoting her fantastic new album “100 Proof”. She’s joining one more special event today as she guest hosts on Willie’s Roadhouse on Sirius/XM radio. Kellie will play some of her favorite country songs, and introduce some of her own, during her hosting segment. The one-hour special airs starting at 8 pm EST, and will repeat again tomorrow at 11 pm EST, Friday at 11 am EST, Saturday at 3 pm EST, and Sunday at 6 pm EST.

“’Willie’s Roadhouse’ is one of my favorite stations and I’m so excited to be the guest bartender. The first time I meet Willie, he signed my guitar and he’s one of those people that when you met them, you feel like you’ve known them all your life.”

Kellie will make her big return to the Grand Ole Opry 0n March 17th. She’ll be signing CDs for fans that night in the Opry Gift Shop from 5 pm CST to 6:30 pm CST.

DVR Alert: Faith & Carrie To Duet With Tony Bennett

Country superstars Faith Hill and Carrie Underwood are set to perform with the  legendary Tony Bennett on his upcoming special on PBS that will highlight his Duets II album.

Both singers will hit the stage with Tony, with Faith performing “The Way You Look Tonight” and Carrie singing “It Had To Be You.”

Other stars that will be featured on the special include Willy Nelson, Lady Gaga, John Mayer, Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Sheryl Crow and Norah Jones.

Great Performances will air Friday, January 27 at 9PM on PBS.

 

Willie Nelson to Release Classic Covers Album

Willie Nelson will release a cover album of country music classics on November 21st called Remember Me, Vol. 1. The album will be released on R&J Records, with volume two being expected sometime next year. The album will consist of 15 classic songs ranging from 1947-1989 and will be out just in time for holiday shopping. The covers on the CD are from artists such George Jones, Merle Haggard, and Johnny Cash and were picked by Nelson himself. The album was produced by James Stroud.

The tracklist is as follows:

Willie Nelson’s Tour Bus Up For Auction

The tour bus that Willie Nelson called home up until 1999 is up for sale in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada for the Classic Car Auction tomorrow reports USA Today. The bus has a painted mural on the back with a pair of cowboy boots and the Texas state flag.

The bus has all everything usually on a tour bus: shower, bathroom, and six bunks for guests staying on board. What would you want on your tour bus if you ever had one?

Lionel Richie Releasing Country Duet Album

We finally have a release date for Lionel Richie’s long awaited country duets album. Titled “Tuskegee” the record features duets with country music stars on his biggest hits. Artists on the album include Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Darius Rucker, Little Big Town, Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles, Tim McGraw, Shania Twain, Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson, and Jimmy Buffett. From the line-up alone the album should be huge. Fans can get their copy of the album when it’s released on November 8th.

Willie Nelson Reschedules Ohio Show

Willie Nelson has been forced to reschedule his October 18th show in Akron, Ohio until November. The move was done so Willie could attend a benefit concert in his home state suffering from the wildfires. The new concert date will be November 4th at 7:30 pm, and all tickets from the October 18th date will be honored at the new time.

Remember the Dixie Chicks? Do you miss them? Well, if you live in Texas, you’ll be able to see them perform once again. The Dixie Chicks along with Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett, and Asleep at the Wheel are performing at a benefit concert to provide relief for those affected by the wildfires. FIRE RELIEF: THE CONCERT FOR CENTRAL TEXAS,  will be held on October 17th at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, TX. Kyle Chandler from Friday Night Lights and actor Turk Pipkin will be hosts for the event.

The Courtyard Hounds, Shawn Colvin, Steve Miller,The Texas Tornados, and guitarists Eric Johnson and Joe Satriani will be making special guest appearances. All proceeds will go to the Central Texas Wildfire Fund at the Austin CommunityFoundation.

Tickets went on sale last Friday, September 23rd and can be purchased at www.texasboxoffice.com. Tickets start at $25.

George Strait Adds Faith Hill to his Album

George Strait is pulling out all the stops for his new album “Here For A Good Time.” The album, which is scheduled to be released on September 6th, confirmed to Country Weekly that Faith Hill will be part on one of the tracks. She’ll be the backing vocals on “A Showman’s Life,” a song about the good and hard times of a musician. The song is a cover of a version previously on Gary Allan’s album “See If I Care,”  which had featured Willie Nelson.

This isn’t the only new studio recording fans will hear of Faith Hill this year. She’s also on a duet with husband Tim McGraw on his new album. She returned to the studio in March to start recording her own album as well.
