This week’s music video is Brad Paisley’s number one hit, “Letter To Me.” The song was the third single from his 5th Gear album. I love the whole concept of this track and video. The meaning behind a song is what really pulls me in, and Paisley did an excellent job with this one. And no matter how many times I hear it, it can still make me cry. Mark of a great song, right?
Live Performance
Fresh off the heels of her ACA wins, the live performance video is Carrie Underwood singing “Before He Cheats” for Clear Channel’s “Stripped” series. The song won Underwood multiple awards and is one of the best-selling country songs of all-time. Her undeniable vocals on top of the stand-out track was a perfect combination.
Cover Song
The pick for cover song this week goes to Megan Nicole and Boyce Avenue for their impressive version of Taylor Swift’s “Mean.” They really hit this one out of the park, so make sure you check it out. If you are not familiar with their music, I listed their contact information after the video.
We give you our latest edition of “Video Picks of the Week.”
Music Video
This week’s music video is Lee Brice, “Love Like Crazy.” The top ten song was the lead single off of his album of the same title. Lee has such a great voice and this is one of my favorite country songs of the past couple of years.
Lee is currently on tour, and he recently premiered his music video for his latest single, “A Woman Like You.”
Live Performance
You requested her and we love her, so here is Lauren Alaina! The live performance pick is Lauren singing her latest single, “Georgia Peaches,” at Walmart Soundcheck. This one was specially chosen by our very own, Jessica Crans.
Our cover song pick this week is Kelly Clarkson performing Reba McEntire’s hit, “Why Haven’t I Heard From You” at the “CMT Giants: Reba” special from 2006. It is no secret that we adore Kelly. She is such an amazing vocalist, and she slays this cover.
Kelly’s new album, Stronger, is available everywhere now and you can catch her on tour starting in January.
Hey friends! It’s time for our “Video Picks of the Week!”
If you missed last week’s kick-off post, “Video Picks of the Week” is our new weekly feature where we will choose three videos: an official music video, a live performance video, and a song cover video.
Music Video
This week’s music video is Jake Owen’s number one hit, “Barefoot Blue Jean Night.” The song was the lead-off single to his current album of the same title. His video for his current single, “Alone With You” is set to be released soon.
Live Performance Video
Our live performance video is Reba McEntire singing “She Thinks His Name Was John” at the 1994 Billboard Music Awards. The song was the second single off of her “Read My Mind” album and sparked controversy at the time for its subject matter. “She Thinks His Name Was John” is about a woman who contracts HIV after a one night stand. It is a powerful, heartbreaking song sung by one of the best musical storytellers in the business.
Cover Song
The pick for cover song this week goes to singer-songwriter, Ashley Arrison. This video is Arrison’s beautiful version of Miranda Lambert’s “More Like Her.” If you have not heard the talented Arrison’s music, you must check it out. It is available on Itunes! You can follow her on Twitter: @ashleyarrison, and stop by her Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ashleyarrisonmusic.
This is our first post for our new weekly feature, “Video Picks of the Week.” Each week, we will feature three videos: an official music video, a live performance video, and a song cover video. We will be posting current country, classic country, and everything in between. We intend to give you a great variety, and we hope you enjoy the videos!
Music Video
Our first music video pick is Rascal Flatts, “I’m Movin’ On.” This track was the group’s fourth single from their self-titled debut album, and is one of my favorite Flatts’ songs.
Live Performance
Our first pick for live performance video is of The Band Perry singing their current single, “All Your Life,” from Oceanway Studios in Nashville last year.
Cover Song
The cover song video will be from either an established, up and coming, or unknown artist. This week’s choice features the first duet ever performed by country power couple, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton. In 2005, Miranda and Blake covered “You’re The Reason God Made Oklahoma” by David Frizzell and Shelly West for CMT 10 Greatest Duets.
And there are our first “Video Picks of the Week!”
If you have any videos you would like to see featured in the future, let us know and leave your suggestions.
