Tyler Farr Releases Hello Goodbye Music Video

Columbia Nashville’s Tyler Farr has finally released his brand new debut music video for his emotional new single “Hello Goodbye.” The singer is offering fans the chance to see the music video on his site before anywhere else, and get a free download of his previously unreleased track “Makes You Wanna Drink” in exchange for signing up for his e-mail newsletter. The free track download will be sent right to your inbox, but the music video will be unlocked right there on the page as soon as you supply him with your e-mail address.

The singer-songwriter is currently out on the road on select dates on the Jagermeister tour. He just returned from the Blake Shelton Cruise last week, which we will be recapping here on Keepin’ it Country all week long! He was joined on the cruise by fellow singer-songwriters Lee Brice and Jerrod Niemann.

A native of Garden City, MO, Tyler’s love of country music was set after going on the road with his stepfather, who played guitar for George Jones. He attended college on a vocal performance scholarship where he sang classical music. Tyler’s live show is mostly original songs but his set reflects his musical diversity with cover songs that range from traditional country to Flo-Rida.

Elektra Nashville’s Jana Kramer, Sony Music Nashville’s Tyler Farr, and Warner Music Nashville’s Charlie Worsham will be teaming up for a very special cause this October. The three artists will be playing a special benefit show for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) at the Tin Roof 2 on October 3rd. The Tin Roof 2 is located just outside Nashville, Tennessee. The show kicks off at 7 pm CST with tickets available for only $20 each at the door. The evening will be hosted by GAC personality Suzanne Alexander.

Not only will there be live music, but fans will also be able to purchase food, drinks and items from a silent auction. All money raised on the evening will go to LLS for cancer research, and for Team In Training (TNT), the running program that supports LLS with its efforts. Since 1989, LLS has raised over $1 billion for the fight against blood cancer. It’s also helped to fund the development and research of 37 different crucial anti-cancer medications and drugs.

Tyler Farr’s “Hello Goodbye” Is the Most Added Single on Mediabase

With his debut album hitting stores in early 2013, Columbia Nashville’s Tyler Farr is certainly building momentum. This week, his ballad “Hello Goodbye” is the most added song on the Mediabase single chart. The song was written by Farr, Kris Bergnes and Skip Black, and is an autobiographical track about the end of a relationship.

In response to the track’s success, Tyler tweeted, “Thanks to country radio and all my fans for a great start to ‘Hello Goodbye.’ Y’all Rock—seriously!”

Tyler Farr Releases Hello Goodbye

Columbia Nashville newcomer Tyler Farr will be releasing his new single “Hello Goodbye” to country radio this month. The emotional and powerful ballad follows the story of a man at the end of a relationship who is trying to find the strength to move on with his life and say his final goodbye to the relationship. It’s a real-life story Tyler wrote about an experience with an ex-girlfriend:

“I caught an ex-girlfriend of mine cheating on me, and the next day we (Kris Bergsnes and Skip Black) wrote this song,” said Tyler. “Songwriting is like therapy, and thanks to Kris, Skip and a few drinks, I got some good counseling,” he laughed.

On Saturday, Tyler will sing the new single live on the iconic Grand Ole Opry stage.

“One of the things I love about country music is the songs are built on real life experiences and events and I can’t think of a better place to play this song than at the Opry,” said Tyler.

A native of Garden City, MO, Tyler fell in love with country music at a young age when he was on the road with his step-father – the guitar player for George Jones. After spending two years at Missouri State for a vocal performance scholarship, Tyler packed up his belongings and hit the road for Nashville. He quickly took on a job at the famous Tootsie’s for the 10 pm to 2 am shift.

Tyler later took on the road by playing club shows throughout the Southeast United States. He’s opened shows for country superstars like Miranda Lambert, Jerrod Niemann and Lee Brice, and spent a year on the road with Colt Ford.

“We’ve put a lot of miles on the van and we probably qualify for a U-Haul endorsement.”

The hundreds of miles he’s hit on the road has helped Tyler build a loyal fan base with country music fans:

“What’s great now is I’m finally getting to the point where people are starting to catch on and know my songs and that is the best feeling in the entire world when you get someone. “When a fan comes up to me after a show to say they had a good time, then I’ve done my job.”

Looks like the party is going to get a little bigger. The Blake Shelton Cruise has just added Jana Kramer, Tyler Farr and Brett Eldredge to its already spectacular roster of entertainment. The Cruise embarks on a fabulous 7-night cruse from Miami, Florida on October 14th, 2012, and returns on October 21st, 2012. Tyler Farr To Make Grand Ole Opry Debut

Playing the Grand Ole Opry is a big deal to any country artist, but to play it for the first time is usually a dream come true. That’s the case for BNA Nashville artist Tyler Farr, who will play at the church of country music for the first time on Saturday night. He’ll be stepping into the circle just like his hero, George Jones, this weekend. He’ll be performing his single “Hot Mess” on the historic stage.

“One of the most influential experiences in my life was the first time I went to the Opry,” said Tyler. “What made it so special was that I was backstage with my stepfather standing next to George Jones. As he sang ‘He stopped loving her today’, my arms filled with goosebumps. It was then that I knew The Grand Ole Opry was the heart and soul of country music.”

Being near such a big stage isn’t something new for the artist, who has some strong ties to George Jones, as he explains:

“My Mom married George Jones’ lead guitar player when I was about 16,” said Tyler. “I started going on the road with them and I got to hang out with my stepdad at sound check. During the show I remember standing on the side of the stage and watching him sing and that was the musical spark for me.”

When Tyler figured out that music is what he wanted to do, he took the first job he could to help work on his talent. An overnight shift at the famous Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge in Nashville. He worked the 10 pm to 2 am shift.

“It probably took 5 years off of my life,” he laughed, “But doing that was the best thing for me. It taught me the art of entertaining and hosting a party.”

Since then, Tyler has opened for artists all over the United States – Miranda Lambert, Colt Ford, and Jerrod Niemann. He’s thankful for those opportunities and the chance he had to start building a loyal fanbase:

“What’s great now is I’m finally getting to the point where people are starting to catch on and know my songs and that is the best feeling in the entire world when you get someone. ‘Hot Mess’ is such a fun song and it’s going over so well in the show and when I see someone singing along, then I’m happy. Wynonna To Play Show Oct 3rd

Wynonna Judd is one of the superstar names on the bill for the 2011 IEBA / WME music conference taking place October 3rd in Nashville, Tennessee. She’ll kick off the night with a performance at 9:45 pm for the annual industry conference with her new band, her hits, and her wit. Other artists that are part of the line-up include Lee Brice, The Band Perry, Jerrod Niemann, Neal McCoy, Eric Paslay, and Tyler Farr for the 500 attendees at the War Memorial Auditorium.

“The WME lineup is a much anticipated one, and there is always something special in store for attendees,” said Tiffany Davis, IEBA Executive Director.

The IEBA is the non-profit trade organization International Entertainment Buyers Association. The group is dedicated to providing networking, artist showcasing, and promote growth in the entertainment industry. The conference goes through October 2nd to the 4th and will focus on showcasing artists of all genres, not just country music.

How Sony Music’s Restructuring Effects Country Music

Country music fans have been a little worried and confused this week over the announcement of Sony Music’s restructuring of its labels. While no major acts have been dropped, a lot of shuffling has gone on. We have the new artist lists by label here for you to help ease that confusion while the official websites get caught up and switch over. With the removal of Columbia Nashville, Miranda Lambert and the Pistol Annies were one of the acts switched to a different branch of Sony Music Nashville.
