Storme Warren Named NRA Country’s Artist Of The Month

Storme Warren Courtesty GAC

TV and radio personality Storme Warren has been named the NRA Country Artist of the Month for April.

Storme’s selection puts him in company with Craig Morgan, Justin Moore, Lee Brice, Montgomery Gentry, Sunny Sweeney and Trace Adkins who have teamed up with NRA Country to celebrate their support of our brave men and women in uniform, appreciation for the great outdoors, and love of family.

Warren recently served as the emcee of the 2nd Annual NRA Country/ACM Celebrity Shoot in Las Vegas.  His participation in that event and his love of the great outdoors make him a natural fit with NRA Country Artist of the Month promotion.

“There is nothing better than soaking up the great outdoors.  I spend most of my free time either by a river with my fly rod or hiking the trails with my kids and mutts,” says Warren.

As part of the April promotion, fans can register to win an autographed Headline Country shirt.  Visit the NRA Country website from now through the end of April to register to win.

Jake Owen Seeing Stars That Serve

Jake Owen.

A night out in Nashville had Jake Owen seeing stars and SEALS.  In this case, they were one and the same.

The RCA recording artist attended the Act of Valor movie screening in Nashville last night.  He wrote and recorded a song, “The Best I Can,” for the movie soundtrack and was anxious to see the film, which features active-duty Navy SEALS.

“Getting to hang out with the Navy SEALS last night was truly the biggest honor of my life,” says Jake. “Everyone should go see Act of Valor.  The movie is so intense, but it’s real. It reminds you that every single day you should be very grateful to live in this country.”

On February 14, Jake travels to NYC to perform his Top-10 hit single, “Alone with You,” on NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, which airs at 12:30 a.m. ET.

By the way, the rest of the Act of Valor soundtrack is pretty much a country collaboration.  Other performers on the album include Keith Urban, Sugarland, Lady Antebellum, Hunter Hayes, Trace Adkins, Josh Kelley and Wynonna.

Trace Adkins Headlining NRA Country Jam

Trace Adkins.

Showdog-Universal’s Trace Adkins has been invited to headline the 2nd Annual NRA Country Jam on April 13th, 2012. The music festival, which is presented by Bushnell and Folds of Honor, will take place at the Ferrara Theater in St. Louis, just steps away from the exhibit hall in America’s Center during the annual NRA meetings.

The exhibit hall is expected to be packed with over 500 exhibitors displaying shooting and hunting products of every kind. Over 70,000 NRA members will be in St. Louis for a three-day event kicked off by Trace’s performance.

Trace is an avid supporter of the American military and will be donating a proceed of the portions of the event, along with sponsor Bushnell, to the Folds of Honor Foundation. The foundation was created by Iraq veteran Major Dan Rooney to help provide post-secondary educational scholarships to children and spouses of American military service members killed or injured in action. Since forming in 2007, Folds of Honor has generated over $8.9 million for scholarships.

“I can’t wait to take the stage at the NRA Country Jam 2. It’s going to be a great show,” says Trace. “Folds of Honor is an important cause and I’m happy to help give back to those who give so much for our freedom.”

Video Picks Of The Week: January 29, 2012

Dierks Bentley

Hi friends…

It’s time for our “Video Picks of the Week!”

Music Video

This week’s music video is Trace Adkins‘ hit, “Just Fishin’.” Sometimes you get a song and a video, and you just think to yourself… that could not have been done better. That is how I feel about “Just Fishin’.” It is one of my favorite country music videos of all-time.

The song served as Adkins’ lead single for his album, Proud To Be Here, and is nominated for “Best Country Song” at the upcoming Grammy Awards. The music video stars Adkins and his youngest daughter, and is a great representation for the very heartfelt and sweet song.
