Martina McBride Announces Everlasting Tour

Martina McBride

Superstar Martina McBride’s most recent album entitled Everlasting features twelve classic soul and R&B songs, to which McBride adds her own spin with her flawless voice.  Now fans will get to hear the songs live as McBride begins her Everlasting tour throughout the country this summer.

Rehearsals for the tour, which kicks off on May 8 in Salina, KS are underway, and McBride could not be more excited to share her new music with her fans.  She aims to create a show directly out of the 60’s and 70’s to accompany the classic feel of the album.

“It’s coming out exactly as I dreamed it,” she says. “It’s so much fun, and I want it to really be a visual experience for the audience as well as a musical experience. So, it’s a little bit of a throwback to Motown. We’ve got the guys all in matching suits. I’ve got a horn section for the first time — a four-piece horn section. We’ve got a three-piece background vocal section. I’ve never carried a background vocal section, so that’s a lot of fun.”

The tour is completely different than anything fans have seen from McBride or any other artist recently.  McBride explains, “I think it’s really unique and fresh, and the fact that we only get to do it for a short period of time is … I’m missing it before it even starts, so I really hope people come out and experience it because it’s gonna be really special.”

As she continues planning and rehearsing for the Everlasting Tour, McBride has even more to celebrate. Her Everlasting album went straight to number one on the Billboard charts when it was released on April 7.

Of this honor, McBride told CMT, “It’s really special and gratifying. You never know how people are going to react to it — whether they’re going to like it or not like it — so it’s always a little nerve-wracking to put any new music out. It feels good when you work so hard on a project that you really believe in and love, and people accept it.”

It’s safe to say that the memories from Martina McBride’s tour, like the songs from her latest album, will be everlasting.

Randy Houser Scores 3rd Consecutive No. 1

Photo: David McClister

Last week, Randy Houser scored his third consecutive number one song with “Goodnight Kiss” from his 2013 album, How Country Feels. “Goodnight Kiss” follows in the chart-topping success of his prior platinum singles, “How Country Feels” and “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight.”

If three number one hits in a row wasn’t enough to celebrate, “Goodnight Kiss” also marks Houser’s first number one as a songwriter. He co-wrote the track with Rob Hatch and Jason Sellers.

“I have been so blessed this past year to have such incredible success on country radio and have three number-one’s in a row,” said Houser. “But it’s especially cool to see ‘Goodnight Kiss’ up there this week and to have that recognition now as a songwriter, too.”

Houser is currently on the road with his own headline dates and will open for Brad Paisley this summer. For more information, visit www.RandyHouser.com.

While eagerly awaiting the announcement of 2014 tour dates, fans of Garth Brooks now have even more to look forward to!

Before hitting the road on a world tour, Brooks will play two shows in Dublin, Ireland at Croke Park; a venue he sold out twice in 1997 and has not played since.

“Before we go back on tour in the Fall of 2014, I want to challenge myself, the band and crew,” explains Brooks. “In ’97, we were lucky enough to play Croke Park, the stadium was under construction. 130,000-plus of some of the greatest fans in the world. I was quoted then as saying, ‘When this stadium is finished, I would love to come back and try to fill it again…this time to the brink’ — and we’re back to do just that.”
