Toby Keith will be undergoing a small outpatient procedure next week, but will be forced to reschedule one of his “Live in Overdrive” concerts August 2nd in Fort McCoy. The show will now take place on August 30th, and all tickets will be honored at the new date with no exchanges necessary. Gretchen Wilson‘s August 2nd performance at Fort McCoy will still go on as planned, with special guests to be announced. Her concert is free to all with no tickets necessary, with the beer garden opening at 3 pm and the show starting at 7 pm.
Toby’s August 3rd date in Detroit Lakes, MN will take place as scheduled at this time.
We here at Keepin’ it Country wish Toby a speedy recovery!
Toby Keith‘s last single might still be ringing in country fans’ heads, but he’s gearing up for the release today of his brand new single “I Like Girls That Drink Beer.” His new single from his upcoming album is out on radio and digital music retailers today.
“We were in the studio and everybody who heard it was like, ‘You’ve got to release that,’” Keith said.
The single is a co-write by Toby with his longtime collaborator Bobby Pinson. “I Like Girls That Drink Beer” marries a dyed-in-the-wool country sound with and equally on-point sentiment. “Bye bye, baby I’m leavin’/You can keep your mansion and your money/Your boat and your Benz and your uptown friends/And your country club that ain’t really country.” Toby promises he’ll find what he’s looking for in a honkytonk because, of course, he likes girls that drink beer.
Toby once again produced his new single, just like he did on his last album “Clancy’s Tavern.” His smash hit “Red Solo Cup” from that album was certified double platinum by the RIAA for selling more than two million copies digitally since its release. His show remains to be standing room only on his “Live in Overdrive” tour across the United States and Canada, presented by Ford F-Series.

Toby Keith’s “Live In Overdrive” tour kicked off over the weekend with stops in Salt Lake City, Denver, and Albuquerque.
Opening acts, Brantley Gilbert and Thomas Rhett, both Georgia natives, had the opportunity to meet one of their football heroes, Denver Broncos’ running back and former Georgia Bulldog, Knowshon Moreno, Friday night at Denver’s Comfort Dental Amphitheatre. Both artists’ singles are currently racing up the charts with Gilbert’s second single, “You Don’t Know Her like I Do” headed to #1. Thomas Rhett’s debut single, “Something To Do With My Hands,” is already Top 20 and rising, making him one of the hottest new acts out this year.
Toby Keith‘s band, also known as Incognito Bandito, will be playing a very special benefit concert next week in Nashville. The band will be teaming up in support of bassist Kevin “Swine” Grantt’s wife, Jan, who is battling ovarian cancer. The show will take place on Tuesday, June 19th at 3rd & Lindsey. An auction will also be held and donations are being accepted for the Jan Grantt fund at 635 John Wright Rd., in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee.
Several other presenters comprise the list, such as American Idol finalists Colton Dixon and Skylar Laine, CMT hosts Tom Arnold and Steve Austin, 2012 Indianapolis 500 winner Dario Franchitti, Twilight star Ashley Greene, Tony Hawk, Denise Richards, Dax Shepard and Jordin Sparks.
Us here at Keepin’ it Country want to wish our American friends a happy Memorial Day weekend. We also want to thank all those who have, will, or currently are serving their countries overseas. The sacrifices that have been made, and will be made, by the men and women serving their countries will never be forgotten. Even as a Canadian, I still want to thank everyone for what they’ve done protecting freedom not only in the United States today, but around the world.
While there are tons of songs in country music that pay tribute to the troops, we had the difficult task of narrowing it down to just our top ten. Take a look at our top 10 playlist for Memorial Day and let us know what your favorite songs for tribute are on our Facebook page or in the comments to our post.
With the days getting warmer and the date getting closer, us here at Keepin’ it Country got together to put together a list of our favorite beach-flavored tunes for the Blake Shelton Cruise. We’ll be aboard the biggest live country music event ever to set sail, and we want to help our fellow country music fans get ready for the party of the year!
The 7-night cruise leaves Miami on October 14th, then returns on October 21st after 7-nights at sea. You’ll visit San Juan, Tortola, Nassau, and St. Thomas over those fantastic seven nights. Not only will we be on-board, but so will some of the biggest stars in country music… Blake Shelton will perform twice during the cruise, and he’s bringing along some friends to perform and party with too. There’s so many great performers announced so far that it would take all day to list them here, so visit blakesheltoncruise.com to book your cabin or for more information on the country music party of the year. If you mention Keepin’ it Country when you book your cabin you’ll receive a free gift from us on-board!
Take a look at our ultimate Blake Shelton Cruise playlist below, which we’ll be playing on our iPods as we board the beautiful Norwegian Pearl in October. Leave us your suggestions and maybe your favorites might make our Cruise playlist part 2 at a later date.
Looks like Nashville will proceed to party June 6th when Toby Keith joins Kristen Bell as co-hosts for the CMT Awards, PEOPLE magazine has learned. It will be the first time for the duo, as they host the award show that Kid Rock has been hosting the last few times around. Toby last hosted the CMT awards with Pamela Anderson in 2003.
“It’s an honor to get that call,” says seven-time CMT winner Keith, 50, about being asked back to host to show. He and Pamela Anderson co-hosted in 2003.
It will be the first trip to Nashville for actress Kristen Bell, who is pretty excited about her upcomig trip to Music City.
“Country music makes me happy,” the actress, 31, tells PEOPLE. And she’s most excited about meeting her co-host – and the possibility of coming face to face with her country crush, Miranda Lambert.
The CMT Awards will air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on CMT and CMT.com on June 6th. We’ll be there live at the show, so stay tuned to Keepin’ it Country to stay up-to-date on everything CMT and CMA Fest.
