Last night (11/05), Canadian singers Dallas Smith and Chad Brownlee performed one heck of a show in Ottawa. What a treat! This country girl has seen too many shows to count from all different genres. But this particular show stood out and will be one I’ll remember for quite some time.

To review this show in just a few paragraphs seems unjust. In fact, it was difficult to take notes because I found myself just wanting to enjoy the show. With that being said, there were definitely many highlights of the show that are worth noting.

Niagara native Tim Hicks opened up the private show at Algonquin College. This country newcomer did not disappoint. The fans responded to his debut single “Get By” with a great round of applause. The song, which was co-written with Neil Sanderson (drummer of Three Days Grace) and Florida Georgia Line, is currently making its mark on Canadian country radio. Tim recorded his debut EP with Jeff Coplan, who has worked with Love and Left, earlier this year. We highly suggest you keep an eye out for this guy!

Chad Brownlee, hailing from B.C., came out to a crowd eager to dance and sing along. The country crooner performed hit singles such as “Carried Away,” “Love Me or Leave Me,” “Hood of My Car,” and his current single “Listen”. Two fan-faves, “Smoke in the Rain” and his rendition of “Wagon Wheel” by Old Crow Medicine Show, garnered plenty of singing and chanting from the crowd. If there is one thing that stood out from Chad’s set, it’s that this man can sing! Undoubtedly, his voice is one of the best voices I’ve heard live.

Last to take the stage was Dallas Smith. Some of you might know him as the lead singer of Canadian band Default. Earlier this year, Dallas “jumped right in” to country music by releasing his solo debut country album. The fans loved him and his music, whether it was his new country material, such as “If It Gets You Where You Wanna Go” and his current single “Jumped Right In,” or songs from his days with Default, including “Wasting My Time” and “Count On Me”. Dallas noted that Keith Urban and Rascal Flatts had an influence on his transition to country music, which was followed by a great cover of the band’s “Fast Cars and Freedom”.

Chad and Dallas came together at the end of the show to perform a few songs, including Travis Tritt’s “It’s a Great Day to Be Alive” (video below). After the show, they were generous enough to wait around to say hi to the many fans that were hoping to meet the singers.

It’s safe to say that The Boys of Fall tour will not disappoint. With the combined vocals of all three men, this show is defined by the pure country talent at hand. Between some of the best vocals I’ve heard live and their engagement with the fans, it is no doubt that this tour will generate lots of attention toward these three talented country singers.

Get out and see Tim, Chad and Dallas out on tour this fall. But hurry because the shows are selling out!
