Tim McGraw will host “Tour For The Troops” for our military and their families on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at California’s Camp Pendleton. The event will include a free concert by McGraw and also serve as a Family Fun Day with several different activities planned throughout the afternoon.
The Tug McGraw Foundation is partnering with Air Force Reserve, TriWest Healthcare Alliance, and Marine Corps Community Service to bring awareness to the increasing number of servicemen and women affected by Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and the support resources available. According to a 2008 Rand Survey, approximately 300,000 service members are being treated for PTSD.
The Tug McGraw Foundation was established by Tim’s father in 2003, just shortly before he passed away of a brain tumor. Tim serves as a honorary chairman. The organization was started to improve the quality of life of those suffering with brain tumors. In 2009, the foundation was expanded to also aid those affected by PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
Civilian tickets are available for the event as well. The price is $55 and the concert starts at 6 p.m. (PST). You can find further information at www.mcgrawforthetroops.com.
