The McClymonts Prep for CMA Music Festival

The McClymont’s are climbing MusicRow’s Country Breakout Chart with their single “I Could Be a Cowboy” and are currently preparing to rock Nashville during CMA Music Festival. They will be hitting the Bud Light Stage in front of the Bridgestone Arena Plaza on Friday, June 8 at 2pm to 2:20pm to perform their chart climber. This show is open to the public.

That same day, the Australian group will also participate in the 8th Annual CMA Music Festival Kick-Off Parade which runs along Broadway in downtown Nashville. Later that evening, the girls will model legendary Manuel’s couture creations and perform at Dreamwest Magazine’s “Music & Fashion” at the Hard Rock Cafe. Their day won’t end their, as they will then head over to the Bridgestone Arena to walk the red carpet and enjoy the 2012 CMT Music Awards.

Mollie McClymont shared her excitement to return, “We can’t wait to get back to our fans in the U.S. and participate in CMA Fest again this year. We hope everyone will come see us when we are touring about doing the fairs and festivals this summer. Here we come America!”

On Sunday, the trio will make an appearance at the YWCA Celebrity Auction at the corner of Fourth and Broadway at 12:15 p.m. They will then head back to the Nashville Convention Center for a performance on the WSM Acoustic Stage at 1:30 p.m. This performance can be heard at WSM 650 AM and wsmonline.com.

McClymonts Get An Early Christmas Present

Australian country music trio the McClymonts are getting one of their Christmas presents a few weeks early. Their first single from “Wrapped Up Good” is now an official top 30 hit, landing at number 28 on the United States Breakout Singles Chart. It’s their highest charting single to date in North America.

Brooke, Sam, and Mollie found out the news while back home in Australia, spending time with family for the holidays. Sam McClymont was pretty excited about the news:

“We are thrilled to hit #28 this week! The support we have received in America for our music has been overwhelming. We are so excited to tour again next year and release more songs from the record Wrapped Up Good.”

The trio is one of Australia’s hottest acts, but are now trying to break out in the United States. In June, they took on the challenge of moving to Nashville, Tennessee, and releasing their album “Wrapped Up Good” in North America. The album had previously out-sold Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw and even Kenny Chesney in Australia. In September, the trio made their Grand Ole Opry debut and were quickly invited back to perform again.

They’ve had an exciting 2011, but are planning even more for 2012. They’re lining up tour dates across the United States for the new year.

No Shave November Raises $35,000

Congratulations goes out to everyone who participated in “No Shave November” month in Nashville. The fundraiser officially came to a close yesterday, November 30th, and brought in over $35,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

On the official close to the charity contest, The Moose Music Row in Nashville threw a “Beard Bash” to honor all participants and to crown the winners of the competition. Prizes were handed out to all finalists and “The Beard Of The Year” award was selected by a panel of celebrity judges: A Rocket To The Moon, Duane Allan and Joe Bonsall from The Oak Ridge Boys, Matt and Ryan Fleener from the Dirt Drifters, Tom Gossin from Gloriana, Casey James, Neal McCoy, The McClymonts, John Rich and even Blake Shelton.

Billboard Shines Spotlight On McClymonts

Billboard.com is shining their spotlight on Australian country music trio The McClymonts this week. The major website discusses in detail their move from Australia to Nashville, and the differences in the two country music markets. They were one of the top acts in Australia and are climbing the charts in the United States with “Wrapped Up Good.”

The McClymonts have been working non-stop since the August release of their album “Wrapped Up Good,” which earned the girls a Country Music Association (CMA) award at the International Media Reception that I was at. CMA Chairman Steve Moore presented the trio with the 2011 CMA Global Artist Of The Year award to the surprised group.

The McClymonts were part of the Tootsie’s Birthday Bash line-up this week in Nashville, celebrating the 51st year of the legendary honky tonk. They joined The Roys and the Kentucky Headhunters in the celebration performances.

The McClymonts Win CMA 2011 Global Country Artist Award

The McClymonts, Australian sisters Brooke, Samantha and Mollie McClymont, received the CMA 2011 Global Country Artist Award yesterday (11/07/11) in Nashville at the annual CMA International Reception.

Brooke stated, ”Wow, after five months of living here in Nashville, to have picked up the CMA Global Country Artist Award is an absolute honour.”

The band is reaping in great success in the United States, following their success in Australia. They have won “Best Group” at the Country Music Awards of Australia four times in the past five years. They opened for Jason Aldean in 2010 and released their CD Wrapped Up Good earlier this year.

Previous winners of this award include other Australian artists, such as Tommy Emmanuel and Canadian artists Paul Brandt and Jason McCoy.

Tootsies Orchid Lounge Announces Outdoor Birthday Lineup

Nashville’s famous Tootsies Orchid Lounge has announced additional performers for its 51st birthday bash celebration. While Kid Rock will headline the November 23rd birthday before his sold-out appearance at the Ryman Auditorium, joining the party on the outdoor stage are the McClymonts, The Roys and the Kentucky Headhunters. The three groups will play the outdoor stage starting at noon CST on the outdoor stage on Broadway.

“Every time I end up at Tootsies its a good night, and I don’t expect this night to be any different. It’s cool to be celebrating their birthday party with them; I like parties and seem to excel in that type of atmosphere,” said Kid Rock.

The party will continue after his show at the Ryman Auditorium that same night. More bands will be announced as the date comes closer.

The first birthday party celebration was held last year in the 50th year of the opening of the legendary venue. The reception went over so well that it’s turned into an annual event on Broadway.

McClymonts To Make Second Opry Appearance

Australian country music trio The McClymonts are getting ready to perform at their second-ever Grand Ole Opry appearance on September 30th. The girls had their first performance at the historic venue on September 9th. They’re hot from the success of their native Australia and are trying to break-out now in the heart of country music with the invitation to perform for the second time this month, and second time of their careers.

The McClymonts are Australia’s hottest all-female group right now, and they released their debut album “Wrapped Up” in North America back on August 23rd. The album was featured in USA Today’s Pick of the Week article on August 22nd. The album was produced by Taylor Swift’s producer, Nathan Chapman, as well as Adam Andlers from Glee. It outsold Alan Jackson, Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw and even Kenny Chesney in Australia.

Australian trio The McClymonts are set to release their new sophomore effort, ”Wrapped Up Good”, in the United States on August 23rd. Sisters Mollie, Samantha, and Brooke have already tasted success in their native country, with their first album “Chaos and Bright Lights” having went Gold. The first 4 singles from “Wrapped Up Good”, Kick It Up, Wrapped Up Good, Hearts on Fire, and A Women Is A Flame, have all went to number one on the Australian Country chartThe award-winning trio spent the latter part of 2010 touring with Jason Aldean in tof his “My Kinda Party” Fall tour. They also worked with Lady Antebellum and even shared the stage with Ozzie Osbourne at the world’s biggest bikie festival in Sturgis SD. Brooke McClymont said “We were told by a big name record executive in the USA that we would not make it – because we are girls! HELLO! Just watch this space and thanks for the tunnel vision inspiration sir” Obviously this man has never heard the names Dolly, Loretta, Reba, Shania, Carrie Underwood, or Taylor Swift.

I saw these girls open for Jason Aldean & Luke Bryan last September and they were spectacular. They were kind enough to sign autographs and pose for pictures after the show. I’m looking very forward to this new album!
