Kelly Clarkson Gives “Mr. Know It All” A Country Twist

Kelly Clarkson4

Kelly Clarkson does it all.

Since being crowned the first American Idol back in 2002, it has been said that she can sing anything. During her impressive ten-year career, Clarkson has proven over and over again that the statement is most definitely true! The two-time Grammy award winner is one of the few vocalists who can take on any genre with perfection.

Her pop and adult contemporary number one hit, “Mr. Know It All,” has now been given a country twist! A country radio station started playing the new version last night, and fans were immediately on top of the news. There is no word yet if this is an official single release, but we sure hope that it is!

We adore the worldwide singing sensation, and country music generally seems to share in our adoration.

Video Picks Of The Week: January 7, 2012

Kellie Pickler

Hey friends…

It’s our first “Video Picks of the Week” for 2012! Here we go…

Music Video

This week’s music video is Sara Evans, “A Little Bit Stronger.” The platinum hit served as the lead single for her sixth album, Stronger. I think the track is pretty much perfect. Great song, great lyrics, and I love the message. It was one of my favorite songs of 2011 without a doubt, and I was surprised it did not receive a Grammy nod. I think it was one of the biggest snubs this year, and Evans deserved to be nominated for “Country Song of the Year” or “Best Country Solo Performance.”

Live Performance

Pick Pickler! This week’s choice features an awesome live rendition of Kellie Pickler performing her song, “Tough.” It is the lead single from Pickler’s highly anticipated album, 100 Proof, which is set for release on January 24th. It is definitely one of the albums dropping this year to which country music fans are most looking forward. I have been following Pickler’s career since American Idol. Not only is she one of my favorite Idol contestants ever, but she is one of my favorite country singers. I cannot wait to hear 100 Proof.

Cover Song

Have you heard of Buddy Brown? I was searching Youtube and came across some of his excellent country song covers, and had to share with you all. This week’s video is his version of Jake Owen‘s, “Barefoot Blue Jean Night.”

Brown is a Gibson endorsed artists along with Costa Del Mar. His self-titled EP is available on iTunes. “Why You Won’t Dance” is a stand-out track for me.

Really, really good stuff. You should check him out! Plus, his covers on Youtube are some of the best I have heard.

Video Picks Of The Week: December 2, 2011

Lauren Alaina

Hello fellow country music lovers!

We give you our latest edition of “Video Picks of the Week.”

Music Video

This week’s music video is Lee Brice, “Love Like Crazy.” The top ten song was the lead single off of his album of the same title. Lee has such a great voice and this is one of my favorite country songs of the past couple of years.

Lee is currently on tour, and he recently premiered his music video for his latest single, “A Woman Like You.”

Live Performance

You requested her and we love her, so here is Lauren Alaina!  The live performance pick is Lauren singing her latest single, “Georgia Peaches,” at Walmart Soundcheck. This one was specially chosen by our very own, Jessica Crans.

Lauren’s album, Wildflower, is available now and it was just announced that she will be touring with Jason Aldean starting in January.

Cover Song

Our cover song pick this week is Kelly Clarkson performing Reba McEntire’s hit, “Why Haven’t I Heard From You” at the “CMT Giants: Reba” special from 2006. It is no secret that we adore Kelly. She is such an amazing vocalist, and she slays this cover.

Kelly’s new album, Stronger, is available everywhere now and you can catch her on tour starting in January.

Danelle Leverett of The JaneDear Girls Pens Song For Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson & Danelle Leverett

The sometimes-country and international superstar, Kelly Clarkson, released her fifth album, Stronger, this week. The vocal powerhouse is in top form throughout the entire album providing a perfect blend of her versatile musical styles: soul, pop, country, urban, and singer-songwriter.

One of the tracks recorded by the two-time Grammy award winner was co-written by Danelle Leverett of The JaneDear Girls. Leverett penned the song, “The Sun Will Rise,” with country songwriter Kyle Jacobs. The stand-out track appears on the Stronger deluxe edition, and is sung as a duet with Clarkson and Kara DioGuardi.

The song is lyrically and melodically beautiful with Clarkson and DioGuardi’s vocals and deliverance of the song being equally as beautiful. “The Sun Will Rise” is about overcoming hardships and obstacles, and sends an inspiring message that everything will be all right. The song is one of my favorite tracks and serves as a fitting closer to the album’s theme of strength and empowerment.

Leverett posted the following heartfelt message on Facebook:

I’m in tears… Honored… Inspired… Humbled. Thank you Kelly Clarkson and Kara DioGuardi for singing a song that I wrote called “Sun Will Rise”. Two of my favorite singers singing one of my favorite songs I’ve written is a dream come true..! Kelly’s new album “Stronger” just came out so PLEASE support her and buy a copy!:) Thanks, Danelle
