Canadian rising country singer Stacey McKitrick is about to release her debut album on October 4th, 2011. “Friends For Life,” the lead single, was written by Nickelback frontman, and fellow Canadian, Chad Kroeger. Stacey wrote the majority of the album in Nashville, Tennessee with Kevin Churko (Shania Twain, Ringo, Ozzy Osborne), Tom McKillip (Aaron Pritchett, Lisa Brokop, One More Girl), and Brian Howes (Simple Plan, Daughtry, Hedley). The album will obviously have a country-rock feel to it with this line-up.
The ten-track album also includes co-writes with some Nashville heavyweights on “Somebody Else,” “How The Story Goes,” and “What Goodbye Looks Like” . Lending their talents to her self-titled album are Marty Dodson (Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney, Emerson Drive), and Chris Wallin (Trace Adkins, Kenny Chesney).
“I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to work with such an amazing group of people on this record,” says McKitrick. “The producers, writers and musicians inspired me with their creativity and I have learned so much from each and every one of them. As people we have many different sides to us. I have tried to put a little piece of me in every song on this album. Music is my passion and I am so excited to finally be able to share it with the world.”
Earlier this year, she won a Juno award for her work with Tara Oram on a tribute to the Canadian military with “Strong And True.” Other Canadian acts who were on the tribute song included Emerson Drive, Dean Brody and Ridley Bent.
In support of her first album “Stacey McKirtrick,” Stacey will go on a cross-Canada tour. For a full track listing click the “read more” button.
