Thank-you to all of our KIC friends and readers for voting in our recent polls!
First we asked you to pick the Best Albums of 2013, and you did not disappoint!
Scotty McCreery and Danielle Bradbery fans showed up big time to vote for their favorites. It was a back and forth between the two at first. Bradbery’s self titled debut album had the lead for quite a while, but McCreery’s See You Tonight took the lead yesterday and won with 39% of the vote. Keith Urban and his Fuse album had a very strong showing too, and his fans brought him to the third spot. Blake Shelton, Cassadee Pope, and Kellie Pickler rounded out the Top 6 and also had solid support from the fans.
Here are your Top 10 Albums of 2013:
1. Scotty McCreery – See You Tonight
2. Danielle Bradbery – Danielle Bradbery
3. Keith Urban – Fuse
4. Blake Shelton – Based On A True Story
5. Cassadee Pope – Frame By Frame
6. Kellie Pickler – The Woman I Am
7. The Band Perry – Pioneer
8. Luke Bryan – Crash My Party
9. Kacey Musgraves – Same Trailer, Different Park
10. Brad Paisley – Wheelhouse
Our next polls were male & female Break-Out Artist for 2014.
Again, Danielle Bradbery fans brought in big numbers for the Break-out Female poll. Bradbery took the early lead and held it throughout the voting period. Caroline Kole came in at number two with Cassadee Pope finishing in third. It was a fight for second and third; only two votes separated Kole and Pope in the end and was a very close race.
Our Break-Out Male poll might be the most exciting. After countless requests and tweets for Casey James, we added him to the list of voting options. We have loved James since American Idol, and think he is very talented. It is just difficult to choose artists when you have to limit the voting options, but we are so glad you spoke out and we could include him.
And you really proved yourselves! Well done, Casey fans… he won with 38% of the vote. Thomas Rhett was an early favorite and held the lead for quite some time, before James topped him. Brett Eldredge had a solid showing as well and rounded out the Top 3.
And our final poll was Best Artist of 2013. We wanted to have a limited list here, and not have endless options. Our team chose who we thought were the top 5 artists of 2013 (Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, & Taylor Swift) and asked you to make the final decision. Voting was clear from the beginning and never wavered. Carrie Underwood is your pick for Best Artist of 2013. Shelton and Bryan finished second and third respectively.
There is a trend among our winners in these recent polls… Artists from American Idol and The Voice always have some of the most loyal fan bases around. We love how dedicated you are to your artists!
Thank-you all for making our polls a success and a great amount of fun for us! We really enjoy hearing your thoughts and opinions, so we appreciate your participation.
Until next time!

Scotty McCreery’s new album See You Tonight was released this week!
McCreery rose to fame during American Idol Season 10 and went on to be crowned the winner that year. However, the young singer’s success did not stop there and we don’t see it slowing down anytime soon. His first album, Clear As Day, is RIAA platinum certified as well as record breaking. McCreery was the youngest male ever to top the 200 Billboard Chart with a debut album, and also the first country act to open at number one with a debut album.
Produced by Mark Bright and Frank Rogers, See You Tonight consists of thirteen tracks with McCreery having co-writing credit on five songs.
McCreery has been working on the album for the better part of the year and shared:
This album is a big step from the first one, and I can’t wait for everybody to hear it. [...] I feel like I accomplished what I wanted to sound like and say.
And of course, for Scotty, it always goes back to those who helped get him here – the fans:
All of my success goes back to the fans. I try to put in all of the hard work I can, but it means nothing to me without the fans, which have been there by my side since day one. It’s all about saying thanks to the fans.
The singer-songwriter is very busy right now on his album promo run including Fox & Friends and The Tonight Show With Jay Leno as well as hosting album release events in Nashville, New York and North Carolina.
The album is available in three versions: a regular version, Deluxe version (3 additional songs), and a Deluxe Wal-Mart version (2 tracks in addition to the deluxe version). Make sure you grab your copy!

Scotty McCreery recently filmed his “See You Tonight” music video and wants to share a behind the scenes clip with you!
The video was shot at North Carolina State University, where Scotty currently goes to school. The two minute clip focuses on the NC State brickyard, where the video was shot, and how working with Roman White, the director, is a dream come true for Scotty. Roman White has worked with many popular country acts in the past, from Taylor Swift, to Carrie Underwood, and pop stars Justin Bieber and sometimes-country star Kelly Clarkson.

As platinum-selling country artist Scotty McCreery prepares for the much-anticipated release of his sophomore album, See You Tonight, he is taking time out of his busy schedule to support youth baseball with a six-city Major League Baseball ballpark tour.
At the baseball park tour’s culmination, McCreery will have donated $50,000 to youth baseball programs, including Major League Baseball’s RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) program, this year.
“I learned some of my greatest lessons playing sports and being a team member,” McCreery says. “Sports teach you so many life lessons about self-discipline, responsibility, teamwork, setting goals, and being fit. It’s awesome that Major League Baseball provides opportunities for kids who might not have a chance to play baseball and softball elsewhere. I’m proud to provide assistance to this program.”
McCreery’s baseball park tour began on Thursday, Aug. 29, at the home of the Tampa Bay Rays, where he presented a personal $5,000 check to a Tampa youth baseball organization before the game. In addition, he threw out the first pitch and sang “Take Me Out to the Ball Game.”
At each game, McCreery will invite local radio winners to be his guest as he throws out the first pitch, provides CDs for lucky-row giveaways, sings as part of the seventh-inning stretch, and serves a guest broadcaster and/or participates in other various activities that day. Fans can follow the activities at every game in real time by following McCreery on Twitter at @scottymccreery.
New Sony Music Nashville artist and Air National Guard Tech Sergeant Angie Johnson, who gained fame when a video of her singing on a military base in the Middle East went viral, has been announced as the opening act for the fall dates of Scotty McCreery’s successful Weekend RoadTrip Tour 2013. She will join the tour this Sunday, September 1, 2013 in Manteo, NC.
”I just love Scotty’s voice,” said Angie. “He’s a real talent, and I’m super excited to join him on his Weekend RoadTrip Tour. I think we’re going to have a blast on the road together!”
Prior to hitting the road, the St. Louis native, whose debut single, “Swagger,” is impacting radio now, will sing the National Anthem at the Rams’ final pre-season game tonight, Thursday, August 29, 2013.
Angie, who has been busy visiting radio stations in support of “Swagger,” was recently featured in Billboard and the 18 million-circulation USA Weekend. She was featured on ESPN as the Grand Marshal of NASCAR’s recent Cheez-It 355 Sprint Cup Race, where she sang the National Anthem and called out the four most famous words in racing: “Drivers, start your engines.” “Swagger” has been the most added single by a new female artist for three consecutive weeks.
The Weekend RoadTrip Tour 2013 dates that will feature Angie as the opener are listed as follows:

Uh oh! Season 10 American Idol winner Scotty McCreery is being sued by his former manager, Todd Cassetty. Todd filed a lawsuit in Tennessee stating that the 19-year-old star has never paid him for his work or services rendered starting in October 2012.
Scotty isn’t taking the accusation lightly, saying in a statement:
“There is no truth to these allegations. I have offered to pay Todd more than once, but he wanted an unreasonable amount for only five months of work. Anyone who knows me knows how I conduct myself, so I am not worried they will believe any of this. This is just an attempt to embarrass me and my family. The facts will come out when we have our day in court.”
Scotty was signed to Todd as his first entertainment contract after Scotty had finished his post-Idol XIX Entertainment management contract. It happened around the same time as Scotty’s release of his Christmas album “Christmas with Scotty.”
The lawsuit claims that Scotty’s mother wrote an e-mail to Todd saying that he was “unofficially officially” Scotty’s new manager, and would be compensated with 15 to 20 percent – which is industry standard. Todd then says in the lawsuit that he only received 2 percent of gross revenue while under contract with Scotty. However, he was never given a written contract by Scotty or his mother.
Todd is seeking actual and punitive damages from Scotty, as well as covering his legal costs. He accuses the star of breach of contract and fraud. The lawsuit calls Scotty and Judith McCreery, as well as Scotty’s production company Blue Crew Productions Inc as the defendants in the case.
Country music starlet Sarah Darling attended the premiere of “For the Love of Music…The Story of Nashville” during the Nashville Film Festival and just so happened to run in to one of her most-admired musical heroes, Joy Williams of The Civil Wars.
Darling posed for a photo with the GRAMMY Award-winning artist and then she tweeted “I met Joy from @thecivilwars last night! My favorite singer ever!”
The experience was an “honor,” Darling says, and adds that her big-screen debut in the film, which showcased one of her performances at the historic Grand Ole Opry, certainly was too. “To be featured in the film alongside so many talented artists in this town was truly humbling for me. I’m glad I could play a part in showcasing such an amazing city.”
Darling also commented on the film’s anticipated premiere in Tuesday’s issue of The Tennessean. “I couldn’t be more excited, because the doors are wide open for all kinds of musicians [here in Nashville],” she says. “If you have a passion for music, you should be here.”
Celebrating the success of her latest single, “Home To Me,” which has sold over 100,000 downloads and climbing, Darling is currently out with Scotty McCreery on tour as part of his Weekend Roadtrip Tour.
