There are three country girls that are a part of the Top 24 on American Idol this year.
Chelsea Sorrell is 23-years-old and hails from North Carolina. Chelsea had the stressful task of kicking off the show last night. She sang American Idol winner and country superstar, Carrie Underwood’s, “Cowboy Casanova.” She received mediocre comments from the judges who thought that nerves may have gotten the best of her.
After a few more contestants performed, Skylar Laine took the stage. The 18-year-old from Mississippi rocked the house with an energetic performance of the Faces’ hit, “Stay With Me.” Her style and vibe remind me of Miranda Lambert. She received a great deal of praise from Randy, Jennifer, & Steven last night. I think she might be in!
Variety is reporting Dwayne Johnson, AKA “The Rock,” has been announced as the actor and producer of a biopic movie produced by Sony ATV. American Idol judge, Randy Jackson, and Charley’s manager, John Daines, will also produce the film based on the country legend’s life. Do you think this is a good casting decision? Do you think The Rock can pay tribute to Charley?
