Raelynn debuts Boyfriend on The Voice

After debuting her first single “Boyfriend” on The Voice this week, Raelynn has made a major leap on the iTunes charts. The singer, who was a member of Team Blake Shelton on the second season of the hit reality show, signed a deal with Republic Nashville earlier this year. Her album, which is reportedly being co-produced by Dan Huff, will be released sometime in 2013. Her first-ever major label single is currently sitting pretty at number 23 on the iTunes country charts after her performance.

In other Raelynn news, she launched her official fanclub this week – with Miranda Lambert becoming one of the first fans to join. Check out Rae’s Revival on her official website here. Although it doesn’t launch until January 2013, you can sign up now and get a limited edition autographed picture from the singer.

The twangy singer-songwriter has been praised by both Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert for her country personality and vocals, but what do you think about her single? Former Team Blake contestant Raelynn will be premiering her debut single on The Voice next week! The young singer, who signed a recording contract with Big Machine Records earlier this year, has been hard at work on her first album – even writing with Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton! Catch her singing “Boyfriend” on December 11th on NBC. It’s been a big year for the Texan songwriter, who appeared on dates as a surprise guest on Miranda’s “ON FIRE” tour, and even performing her own sets on-board the Blake Shelton Cruise in October!

RaeLynn Signs With Republic Nashville

NBC The Voice star RaeLynn is officially off the record deal market! She signed a deal today with Republic Nashville, the sister label to Big Machine Records, and although today is Friday the 13th, it seems to be a very lucky day for her!

She took to twitter with the news today, saying:

Blake Shelton even tweeted her a congratulations after, calling her his “little sis.” According to her twitter, it looks like she’s been rehearsing to hit the road for some upcoming shows with her idol, Miranda Lambert. Congratulations, RaeLynn! We don’t have any news yet on when RaeLynn will be releasing some new music, but we’ll keep you updated as soon as we find out!

RaeLynn might not have been crowned the winner of The Voice’s second season, but it looks like she didn’t exactly need to. The young singer debuted a brand new original song with Miranda Lambert called “Lie.” The twangy singer was recently nicknamed “Baby Annie” by Miranda’s Pistol Annies, and performed for Miranda’s fans at her fanclub party last week. RaeLynn has been working on her debut country album with Miranda, and RaeLynn’s coach, Blake Shelton. While there’s no date announced for the album there’s no doubt that it will be great with the husband-and-wife duo backing her.

The king of country music summer anthems, Kenny’s “When The Sun Goes Down” might just end up being true on-board the Blake Shelton Cruise this year. The fun island-sounding track features Uncle Kracker. Is there anything better than hanging out at the beach all day at one of the ports (Tortola, San Juan, Nassau or St. Thomas), then going back on-board the ship to party the night away? I didn’t think so. This song is the perfect song for the port days during the 7-night cruise.

Alan Jackson Ft. Jimmy Buffett – It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere

The legendary Alan Jackson teamed up with the king of beach music Jimmy Buffett in 2003 for the island drinking anthem “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere.” The single was originally pitched to Kenny Chesney, who turned it down. It landed in Alan’s hands when he made it known he wanted to sing with Jimmy on a track. The gold certified single for the pair brings up a good point: that it’s always five o’clock somewhere, and on-board the NCL Pearl, it’s always going to be five o’clock! So get ready to grab yourself something tall and strong and sit back and enjoy the biggest country music party over 7 nights.

Jerrod Niemann – Shinin’ On Me

Our next song comes from one of the special guests on-board the cruise, Jerrod Niemann. The brand new single from his upcoming album due out later this year is a great song to help get you in the mood for the Caribbean sunshine and easy going attitude. We’ll also get to hear this song live on-board the ship when Jerrod performs live for the biggest country music fans at sea! His current single reminds us all to enjoy the sun shining on you out on the ocean or the beach, and forget about your troubles.

Frankie Ballard – A Buncha Girls

Frankie Ballard brings us our next song on our Blake Shelton Cruise song list. His single from his self-titled album out last year is dedicated to the girls who go out to party, and what it does to the boys. It’s a fun anthem by the guitar genius, who fans will see live on the ship. “A Buncha Girls” is dedicated to all the sisters, mothers, daughters, grandmothers, and best friends taking on the Cruise together – it will be one vacation to remember!

Zac Brown Band – Toes

You could get away with almost any song from the Zac Brown Band’s two albums, but we had to choose “Toes.” It’s one of the most-played songs on our iPods when the warm weather kicks in and there’s a good reason why: who doesn’t want to be sitting on a beach somewhere with their toes in the sand? You won’t have a worry in the world when you’re on-board the 7-night party with your fellow country music fans.

Brad Paisley – Water

The guitar god of country music named two tours after his single from “American Saturday Night.” We’ll be surrounded by “Water” on-board the beautiful Norwegian Pearl, and this fun little love song about water in all its various forms was an obvious choice for the Blake Shelton Cruise playlist. The gold-certified single went number one on the Billboard Country Singles Charts in Summer 2010. Brad might not be on the cruise himself, but he has connections: both Blake Shelton and Jerrod Niemann have opened for Brad over the last two years. (We don’t recommend you try to play your guitar in the pools on-board the ship, however).

Joe Nichols – Tequila Makes Her Clothes Come Off

Joe Nichols made one of the top country music party songs in 2005 on Universal South Records with “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Come Off.” The funny little song, which a just-as-funny end to the music video, might just end up being too-true for a few fans during the Blake Shelton Cruise. Have a little laugh over the possibility, and make sure to add this one to your Cruise playlist too.

Little Big Town – Pontoon

Little Big Town’s newest single is a stand-0ut right now on country music. With a groovy little sound to it, it’s a fun summer song about a different kind of boat that you’ll be on, but it still fits. The dance-able song is about getting out a koozie, floating on the water, and just taking it easy on the water. They’re one of the most underrated groups in country music today, and their single is a perfect addition to any Blake Shelton Cruise play list.

Sugarland – All I Want To Do

One of my personal favorite Summer songs comes from country music super-duo Sugarland. Their 2008 single on Mercury Records Nashville is a feel-good single about doing nothing but being lazy and sitting around with the one you love. “All I Want To Do” is a catchy little song that fits in perfectly with our list for everyone who wants to get on-board and do things at their own speed. This is the song to listen to when you’re lying on one of the ship’s outdoor decks under the sun and relaxing and bringing back that tan that everyone back home will be jealous of.

Toby Keith – Red Solo Cup

Toby Keith’s fun single wasn’t supposed to be released to radio originally, but there’s really no looking back now. It’s become one of the biggest songs of the year all-genres, even appearing on Glee, and getting attention from Ryan Seacrest who named it the official Summer party anthem. “Red Solo Cup” is one song that gets stuck in your head and doesn’t leave. I was part of the Academy of Country Music performance of the single when Toby was in the crowd, and while there might not be a lot of Red Solo Cups on-board the ship, the sentiment remains the same… whenever country music fans get together, they always Proceed to Party.

Eric Church – Drink In My Hand

This final song on our part one is one for the younger crowd. Eric Church made this single as a tribute to his fans at his shows every night who always had their cups high in the air during his set. The rocking song is another reminder to forget your troubles and just have a good time on-board with some of the best fans, and artists, in country music this October. Eric’s song might just end up being the late night anthem for some during the 7 nights at sea. You can always try the hair of the dog that bit you if you’re a little hungover one morning!

Country Stars React to Eric Church’s Statements

It’s been a big five hours for us here at Keepin’ it Country, and for the country music world. Only a few minutes after posting a few quotes from Eric Church‘s interview in the current issue of Rolling Stone, did country stars start reacting. First to find out was the usually funny Blake Shelton, who was pretty serious over what Eric said about Blake and The Voice:

Miranda Lambert also took to Twitter to defend her husband. She re-tweeted our article then added her own input:

@miranda_lambert: Thanks Eric Church for saying I’m not a real artist. Or @kelly_clarkson, @carrieunderwood & @KeithUrban. Your welcome for the tour in 2010.

American Idol contestant Skylar Laine, one of the few country artists on this season, took offense to Eric saying that there are no real artists on her reality show.

@SLaineAI11: Eric why would you say that??? Readin that crap just broke my heart.

The Voice’s young country contestant, Raelynn, also had a little bit to say on Eric’s statements. Raelynn had just joined Miranda Lambert on-stage at Stagecoach Festival this past weekend.

RaeLynn Returns, Performs With Miranda In Stagecoach Surprise

Fans at the Stagecoach Festival got a huge surprise Saturday night: The return of RaeLynn.

Headliner Miranda Lambert was midway through her show when she surprised the Indio, California crowd by bringing RaeLynn out on the stage. The two then sang a rocking version of Maroon 5’s “Wake Up Call,” which RaeLynn had performed on The Voice. (See a fan-shot video of the performance below.)

Shortly after her performance RaeLynn tweeted the following message:

Just performed with my favorite country singer and my adopted big sister @Miranda_Lambert! Love my sister Annie’s!

Lambert had long been scheduled to headline at the festival and many fans hoped to see the Pistol Annies — the trio of Lambert, Angaleena Presley and Ashley Monroe – as they had performed at Miranda’s shows the previous two nights. The Annies did perform, but the big bombshell came from the tiny Texan and her performance with Miranda, her idol.

The 17-year-old country singer landed a spot on the current season of The Voice when she impressed coach Blake Shelton with her version of the Annies’ “Hell On Heels.” That allowed her to not only meet, but also be mentored by Miranda. RaeLynn may not have won the show, but she clearly won over Miranda as the two formed an instant and almost sisterly bond. (See the above tweet for proof of that!)

RaeLynn made it to the show’s quarter-finals before being eliminated nearly two weeks ago. Earlier this week she told us in an exclusive interview that Miranda said she still would be involved in her career. Saturday night’s surprise showed that Miranda is a woman of her word.

The Voice: Team Blake Recap – Week 10

Let’s catch up with Team Blake!

Last week on The Voice was an emotional time for Coach Blake Shelton and the contestants with two eliminations.

RaeLynn, Jordis, Erin, and Jermaine took the stage last Monday giving us some great performances. At the end of the show, however, Blake had to make an elimination live on the spot. He decided to let the previous rounds’ votes dictate the outcome and let Jordis go home. That left RaeLynn, Erin, and Jermaine to compete for America’s votes.

On last Tuesday’s results show, it was announced that Jermaine was the highest vote-getter for Team Blake. RaeLynn and Erin were in jeopardy and both had to perform for their life. It was a tough decision for Blake, but he chose to save Erin.

And then there were two….
