VIDEO: Josh Turner Performs “Time Is Love” on Good Morning America

MCA Nashville artist Josh Turner made his way to the Big Apple to perform on ABC’s Good Morning America on Wednesday, July 11 and got a little surprise while he was there. Josh performed his currently single, “Time Is Love,” while celebrating the release of his fifth studio album, Punching Bag, which hit shelves on Tuesday, June 12 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart. PEOPLE Magazine recently named Punching Bag as one of their “10 Hot Albums Now!”

While on the set, Good Morning America co-hosts Robin Roberts and Josh Elliott surprised Josh with a plaque honoring his career achievement of selling over 12 million units since he first signed with MCA Nashville, wow!

Josh will also be making some upcoming appearances on ABC’s The Chew and CBS’ Late Show with David Letterman on Thursday, August 23.

In honor of Father’s Day, we knew we had to celebrate country music’s great fathers. They love their kids, they write excellent songs, they put on phenomenal concerts…and they look pretty hot while doing so. Today, we salute country’s music’s 10 Hottest Dads.

While it was hard to narrow it down, these hunky dads stole our top ten spots.

10. Keith Urban - He may be one of Australia’s favorite sons, but this perfectly coiffed crooner is one of our favorite dads. Married to actress Nicole Kidman since 2006, Keith is the proud papa to Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.

9. Justin Moore - While he may be somewhat of an up and comer in music these days, the “If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away” singer easily takes a spot on our list. With his wife Kate, Justin has 2 daughters, Ella Kole and Kennedy Faye. We wonder if he’ll try to teach his little girls how to “Bait A Hook”!

8. Josh Kelley - Josh Kelley may have only jumped into country music in the last few years, but this “Georgia Clay” singer nabs a spot for adopting 2 beautiful daughters, Naleigh & Adalaide Marie Hope, with wife Katherine Heigl. You can hear Kelley’s ode to his first daughter on the beautiful track “Naleigh Moon.”

7. Eric Church – He may be a rebel in country music, ruffling some feathers from time to time, but country’s favorite bad boy has quite the soft side. Forget the drink in his hand and pass him a baby bottle…He and wife Katherine welcomed their son, Boone McCoy, last October.

6. Brad Paisley – He may be known for his comedic lyrics and wicked guitar playing, but Brad and wife, Kimberly Williams Paisley, are the proud parents of 2 adorable sons. We can’t imagine what kind of trouble Brad gets in with William “Huck” Huckleberry and Jasper Warren. We have to wonder if they’re anything like him…

5. Jason Aldean - The “Dirt Road Anthem” singer is not only married to his high school sweetheart, Jessica, but is also the proud daddy of two little girls, Kelley and Kendyl. Swoon…

4. Tim McGraw – He’s undoubtedly half of one of country music’s most beloved couples and although he splits his time between music and movies, Mr. Faith Hill is also a hot dad to three daughters, Gracie Katherine, Maggie Elizabeth and Audrey Caroline.

3. Dierks Bentley - He may be a “Modern Day Drifter,” but Dierks makes his “Home” with his wife, Cassidy, and his two little girls, Jordan Catherine and Evelyn “Evie” Day.

2. Josh Turner – For Josh Turner, touring is a family affair as his wife, Jennifer, plays keyboard in his band and sings backup, while his boys travel with them on the tour bus. The “Time Is Love” Singer is dad to 3 boys, Hampton Otis, Colby Lynch and Crawford Marion, all who sing along with him on “Find Me A Baby” off his new album, Punching Bag.

1. Luke Bryan - He may be known for his gritty voice and swiveling hips, but Luke Bryan is also the dad to “Thomas “Bo” Boyter and Tatum” Tate” Christopher. This dude easily tops our list as the hottest dad in country music. We can’t deny those moves, that voice, the dimples…His wife Caroline is one lucky lady, but we have to wonder how long it will be ’til he has a little “Country Girl” of his own!

Josh Turner Featured on VEVO’s Sound + City

With the release of his new album Punching Bag, Josh Turner is featured in the newest episode of VEVO’s original program, Sound + City. The show focuses on the Nashville music scene and shows Josh discussing Nashville and its offerings to country musicians. ”My dream was to write and to perform,” says Josh, “and I knew that to take it to that next level I was gonna have to come to Nashville.”

Josh Turner’s “Punching Bag” Hits Stores Today

With over five million albums sold since the release of his debut Long Black Train, Josh Turner is ready to step back into the ring of country music with the release of his fifth album, Punching Bag. The MCA Nashville album hit stores today and features the Top-15 hit “Time is Love.”

With his deep and uniquely country voice, Josh Turner and his album are receiving rave reviews from the critics. MAVERICK magazine notes, “It’s always tough to bring something new to a musical genre, but Josh Turner has achieved that near-impossible task again and again, yet has never overlooked just where country music has come from. It’s [his] skill at taking stock of everyday situations…some of them quite mundane… and turning them into musical classics that makes him possibly the most important artist to have emerged in country music for years and years.”

Additionally, The Washington Post praises Turner’s purist approach to the music, as he sidesteps pop and stays true to his country roots. ”These days, it seems like every male country artist wants to sound like Jon Bon Jovi fronting Def Leppard in 1985 — except for Turner, who might be the only million-seller left in Nashville making contemporary country albums without the slightest whiff of arena rock or pop.” The Associated Press echoes this sentiment, writing, “Turner once again proves he ranks among the most effective — and most hard-core country — performers of his generation.”

In the album’s liner notes, Turner imparts his wishes upon his listeners. “I hope my music can bring you the inspiration and motivation to keep moving forward. I hope it brings a smile to your face. I hope it makes you tap your toes. I hope it brings a happy tear to your eyes and makes you want to share your life with others around you.”

In support of Punching Bag, Turner will appear on NBC’s Today Show on Wednesday, June 13, and ABC’s Good Morning America on Wednesday, July 11. He will also appear on PBS’ A Capitol Fourth on July 4.

Deep-voiced country crooner Josh Turner is readying to release his fifth studio album, Punching Bag.
