Miranda Lambert Talks “Platinum”

(Rick Diamond/Getty Images)

Miranda Lambert recently discussed her upcoming album, Platinum, with ABC News Radio.

Platinum is set for release on June 3rd, and the 5-time ACM Female Vocalist of the Year is writing all about life as a 30-year-old girl. She shared: “I always try to make my records be about where I am right now. I’m 30 years old. I’m happily married, but I still have problems good and bad. I face everyday life as a 30-year-old girl. So, I wrote a lot about that.”

Further, she went on to provide some insight into a few tracks. “Bathroom Sink” deals with issues of body image; “Priscilla” addresses the reality of having a famous husband; and “Little Red Wagon” shows off her sense of humor that has come more to the surface thanks to her other half, Blake Shelton.

Lambert feels there is something on Platinum for everybody, and she hopes that everyone can relate. With Miranda’s track record and talent, I don’t think she has anything to worry about.

In the meantime, while we are all anxiously waiting for June 3rd, we can listen to the album’s fantastic lead single and top 10 hit, “Automatic”!

Cassadee Pope Makes History With Debut Single

Cassadee Pope WATT

As we have recently reported, Big Machine recording artist Cassadee Pope‘s debut single, “Wasting All These Tears,” was RIAA certified as Platinum for moving one million units. Achieving Platinum status is a feat in itself, but, if you are familiar with Cassadee, you know that this young artist constantly strives for more in her budding country music career.

Well, this comes as no exception, as Cassadee not only received high honors from RIAA, but also broke a country music record in the process. With Cassadee’s certification, she becomes the first solo female country artist to achieve a Platinum-certified debut single since Taylor Swift‘s 2006 release of “Tim McGraw.”

Congratulations to Cassadee on leaving her footprint on history! You are doing country music proud and are representing female artists beautifully!

In addition to celebrating his new platinum status, Farr has also been nominated for the CRS 2014 New Faces Country Music Show.

Farr’s newest single, “Whiskey In My Water” is impacting country radio and climbing the charts. He is currently on the road with Florida Georgia Line, and will join Jason Aldean on tour next year.

Eric Church‘s “Chief” was released last July, debuted at Number 1 on the Top 200 Sales Chart and recently added another accolade, a Platinum certification. The EMI Records’ album was certified Platinum by the RIAA, and Church’s latest hit, “Springsteen,” has been the number 1 country single for the past 2 weeks.

Ironically, 28 years ago that same week, Bruce Springsteen went to #1  with his only #1 on the Pop Chart, “Dancing In The Dark.”
