Nashville drummer, Miles McPherson (best known for his work with Kelly Clarkson and Paramore), was in a serious accident on Friday, August 16th, while he was riding in a golf cart with his wife and friends. Miles was in the driver’s seat of the cart when it flipped over, resulting in serious injuries to Miles’ face, hands, arm, shoulder, and leg. Miles was admitted to the ICU burn unit at Vanderbilt University following the accident, due to severe burns from battery acid, which leaked when the cart flipped. The injuries Miles has sustained could have a lasting effect on his livelihood, as he is a drummer who was about to embark on a tour with Paramore.
Webpages have been set up to show support for Miles and his family at this time. If you are interested in learning how you can help, please visit the website dedicated to Miles, as well as the Facebook page that was created in response to this accident.
We wish Miles a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing this talented musician back on stage in the short-term!
Kelly Clarkson has always had a special bond with her fans, and has involved them in her career since the beginning. After all, Clarkson and her fans have literally been together since she first stepped on the American Idol stage back in 2002. The multi-Grammy award winner is currently on the road, and takes the time to acknowledge the fan support at each tour stop by thanking them for voting for her and being with her the last 10 years.
Throughout the Stronger Tour, the powerhouse singer has been taking fan requests via Twitter. Every show, she picks a different request to perform. Alternating between her own songs and covers, she paid homage to Shania Twain by performing “You’re Still The One” at her tour stop in Windsor, Ontario last week. Of course, Clarkson and her band did a beautiful job with the song.
We love the fan request idea, and it has given us some amazing covers from KC.
