ACM’s “My Cause” Featuring Miranda Lambert’s Muttnation Foundation

ACM Lifting Lives announced today that the January “My Cause” web feature will spotlight Miranda Lambert and her charity organization, Muttnation Foundation. The web feature drives awareness of artist-supported charitable organizations and supports fundraising efforts for those philanthropies.

This month, “My Cause: Muttnation Foundation” highlights a foundation started by Miranda Lambert to support other organizations whose purpose is to build animal shelters for better care, increase pet adoption, encourage responsible pet guardianship, rehabilitate sick or unsocialized animals, fund spay/neuter programs, reduce euthanasia of healthy animals and train shelter dogs for purposes of therapy programs, assistance for wounded military personnel and dogs-in-prisons programs. Donations can be made to the charity using a donate link available with the video below.

It’s Miranda Lambert to the rescue — again!

This time she’s swooped in to save Batman. No, not the comic book superhero. Instead, it’s another dog that was either abandoned or lost. Miranda found him, rescued him and gave him the Dark Knight’s name.

The other day the soft-hearted superstar (especially when it comes to animals in need) made the following post with attached picture on her Twitter account:

And I Found this on the side of the road this morning. Dah-na-na-na-na-na-na-na Batman! (The theme song ):)

As we can see, the cute little guy has black across his face and ears, which makes him look like a little canine version of Batman. Thus, the comic book character’s name.

Miranda is trying to see if any of her friends want to take in Batman. If she’s unable to find a taker, don’t be surprised if the reigning ACM Female Vocalist of the Year keeps him for herself. She has a huge collection of animals and many of them were either rescued from shelters or directly taken in by Miranda.

Unfortunately, Miranda isn’t able to spend any time with Batman. She’s back out on the road with her On Fire 2012 Tour. She was in Tulsa, OK last night and stops in Little Rock, AK tonight before heading to Wichita, KS and Columbia, MO over the weekend. In the meantime, Batman is bonding with her husband, Blake Shelton. Here’s a tweet and pic from today:

In case you haven’t figured it out by now, Miranda has a deep love for animals — especially dogs. Her charity, MuttNation Foundation, raises hundreds of thousands of dollars each year to help animals in need. The annual MuttNation Foundation fundraising event ”Cause For The Paws” is coming up on June 22. The exact time and location have yet to be announced, along with who might be appearing and/or performing at the event. But you can always count on Miranda performing along with some big name guests. Heck, Batman might even be there!

Good For Giving: Miranda, Blake and Taylor

Sometimes giving gets you something. In this case, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton and Taylor Swift’s giving is getting them recognized. All three appear on DoSomething.org’s just released “Top 20 Celebs Gone Good for 2011”.

The site, which is designed to inspire young people to take charitable action, ranks Taylor at #20 for her many charitable efforts this past year. Those efforts include donating $500,000 to help rebuild flood –stricken areas of Nashville and auctioning off the tap water from her home on behalf of UNICEF’s Tap Project Campaign. In all, Taylor gave away more than $1 million this past year.

Miranda and Blake are paired together in the rankings, coming in at #14. Blake is singled out for his hosting of disaster relief concerts to benefit victims like those of the tornadoes that devastated Joplin, Missouri. Miranda is praised for her fundraising to end domestic violence through the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation. (They didn’t mention it, but we certainly will here: Miranda’s main charity, MuttNation Foundation, raises money to help animals in need.)
