Montgomery Gentry’s Rebels On The Run Debuts Top 10

Montgomery Gentry.

Looks like the three year wait was a good one for the boys of Montgomery Gentry. Their first album together on Average Joe’s Entertainment debuted inside the top ten on the SoundScan Country chart. The album, produced by Michael Knox, celebrates a return to the duo’s musical roots of previous albums that helped establish them as a force to be reckoned with that earned them the Duo Of The Year award.

“Man, bein’ away that long, we just didn’t know what to expect,” said the duo’s EddieMontgomery. “Our friends kept comin’ to the shows all that time, and it looks like they were ready for some new music!”

“We have the greatest fans in the world,” added Troy Gentry. “But we definitely don’t take anything for granted. We are so thankful to everyone at Average Joe’s and for the team they put together to get the word out about this album. We’re more excited about what’s going on now than we have been in a long time, and it makes us want to get out and play that much more.”

Somewhere in a store, there’s still one lucky album waiting to be purchased with the golden ticket inside of it. One fan who gets the ticket inside the physical copy of the album will win a custom motorcycle from Demented Cycles that was designed by Troy and Eddie themselves. It’s a one-of-a-kind ride waiting to be found.

Their current single “Where I Come From” is their fastest-rising single to date and their top researching singles at radio.

REVIEW: Montgomery Gentry – “Rebels On The Run”

Montgomery Gentry are back in a big way with their first album on Average Joe’s Entertainment. The duo released “Rebels On The Run” this week, their first album in almost more than three years by the duo. They’ve returned with an edge, back with music like the good old days of Montgomery Gentry: and it works. We received an advanced copy of the album and it hasn’t left my truck since. It’s that good. Country music is about to finally have a challenge for Sugarland for all the duo awards next year. The record is full of everything that made the group who they were and fans of Troy and Eddie are sure to be happy with the new work. It’s hillbilly rock at its finest – it’s all bite with no filler.

“Rebels On The Run” is packed with potential singles, and all of which are some of the best music the duo has released for three albums. Leaving their old label for artistic differences may have been the smartest thing they’ve done in their careers together.

Montgomery Gentry are back in a big way today, releasing their first album together since 2009 and their first on Average Joe’s Entertainment. The duo left their former home at Columbia after creative differences between themselves and the label, which lead to an entire project being shelved permanently.

The new album, in stores and available digitally today, features the fastest-moving single of their career “Where I Come From.”

“They (Average Joe’s) told me and T, ‘Ya’ll go in and make a Montgomery Gentry record and bring it back,’” Eddie recently told Nashville.com. “It took me back to the days of Tattoos and Scars. We just had a blast bein’ in the studio with Michael (Knox) and finding songs, cuttin’ the songs . . .”

“Rebels On The Run” was produced by Michael Knox, whose previous producer credits include work with Jason Aldean, Kelly Clarkson, Trace Adkins, Hank Williams Jr., and many others.

Included with every physical copy purchased of the album is a chance to win a custom Demented Choppers motorcycle designed by Eddie and Troy. One album will contain a golden ticket. That’s one way to keep sales up!

Montgomery Gentry Launches New Website By Fan Demand

Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry are all smiles this morning, proud of the new website they built with fan input. Starting today, the new MontgomeryGentry.com website is live and accepting pre-orders of their new album, “Rebels On The Run.” Their new record hits stores October 18th on Average Joe’s Entertainment.

”This has been in the works for a while,” said Troy. “We got a lot of feedback from our fans when we were building the new site, and I think they’re going to like what they see.”

“Yeah, we’ve seen how important the site is to keep us connected to our fans – or friends, as we call them,” added Eddie. “It may not always be G-rated, but it’ll always be MG!”

The new site gives fans even easier access to tour information, Twitter updates by the duo, new music and videos, and up-t0-date news. Their online fan club “Montgomery Gentry Underground” will have more exclusive content, opportunities for meet-and-greets with the duo, and much more to be announced.

Each pre-order of “Rebels On The Run” ordered from their official websites includes a free one-year fan club membership for the fan. Each pre-order also includes the chance to win a grand prize of a custom-made Demented Cycles chopper designed by the duo. One album will have a ‘golden ticket’ to pick out a winner…just like Willy Wonka!

Fans Could Win A Golden Ticket From Montgomery Gentry

In what seems like a real-life version of Willy Wonka, the boys of Montgomery Gentry are planning on rewarding their fans by giving them a chance to win a custom motorcycle. In one of the pre-ordered copies of their album, one jewel case will contain a golden ticket. That fan will win a one-of-a-kind Demented Cycles motorcycle from the duo. Both Troy and Eddie had input in the design of the bike. Pretty neat!

Pre-orders for “Rebels On The Run” start September 26th on the band’s official website. It’s the first studio album from the pair in three years and will be released on Average Joe’s Entertainment.

Montgomery Gentry Are Going To Be On The Run On Oct 4th

Montgomery Gentry and Average Joe’s Entertainment have announced a release date for the duo’s new album “Rebels On The Run.” The 11-song album will be available October 4th, 2011 from the independent powerhouse Average Joe’s Entertainment. Member Eddit Montgomery was diagnosed with prostate cancer last year, which fortunately is now in remission after being caught early.

“In a lot of ways the past year has been has been nothing but hell,” said Eddie Montgomery. “Man, without T-Roy and my family, this music, our fans and the Man upstairs, I don’t know how I would’ve gotten through it.”

“I don’t know if we would have made the same album if we hadn’t been through everything we’ve been through in the last year,” added Troy. “We’ve always tried to record songs about things we’ve lived or seen, but the depth of all of those experiences really comes out in this album.”

The group made the biggest change of their careers by leaving their home of Columbia Nashville for Average Joe’s Entertainment. Average Joe’s encouraged Eddie and Troy to “go in and make some Montgomery Gentry music” with producer Michael Knox. Knox’s past credits include Kelly Clarkson, Jason Aldean, Trace Adkins, Hank Williams Jr., and many others. They focused on bringing back the music that they first came into music city with that earned them the love from their fans in the first place.

Eddie and Troy collaborated with Ira Dean, Jim Collins, Wendell Mobley, David Lee Murphy, Rivers Rutherford, and Neil Thrasher with three tracks on “Rebels On The Run.” Rodney Clawson and Dallas Davidson co-wrote the lead single from the album, “Where I Come From.” Friends Greg Bates, Kelly Archer, Kevin Grantt, and Justin Weaver contributed to the rest of the songs on the record.

Montgomery Gentry are on tour this week with shows in California, Las Vegas and Colorado. The duo were inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2009 and they will return to the historic stage September 13th. They are also set to headline the 28th Annual Love Ride Motorcycle Ride with Jay Leno on October 23rd just outside Los Angeles.
