Gwen Sebastian’s Album Out Tuesday

Cover - 2MB

Our friend, Gwen Sebastian‘s, self-titled album will be released this Tuesday, June 25th!

Distributed by Warner Music Nashville, the album includes the lead single, “Suitcase,” which Sebastian co-wrote with songwriter, Nicole Witt. The song has been getting high praise since its release, and you realize why once you hear it. Sebastian’s vocals are powerful, and her country twang and personality shine on the track. The record also features special guest, Miranda Lambert, and Sebastian’s parents provide background vocals as well.

As you know, Sebastian gained popular recognition when she appeared on Season 2 of NBC’s The Voice as a member of Blake Shelton‘s team. Since then, Sebastian has been busy working on her album, touring extensively with Coach Blake as a background vocalist, and doing her own solo shows. She will also be opening select dates on Lambert and Dierks Bentley‘s Locked and Reloaded Tour this summer.

Congratulations on the release of your album, Gwen! We’re very excited for you.

Make sure you grab your copy on Tuesday!

The Country Music Association (CMA) Songwriters Showcase is heading back to Boston with a pretty big star. Texan firecracker Miranda Lambert will headline the July 11th date at the Royale Boston Nightclub. The intimate sessions will also feature Kip Moore, Brett James, and Robert DiPiero. Tickets went on-sale Friday through cmaworld.com and ticketmaster.com.

CMA CEO Steve Moore is pretty excited about taking the best of Nashville’s writers on the road. He said:

“Nashville’s songwriters are the best in the world and CMA is excited to return to Boston to showcase some of these spectacular artists again. It’s great to see how this series has grown since it began in 2005, expanding to play in cities across the U.S., and overseas in places like the U.K. and Paris. Bostonhas given us such a warm reception and we are thrilled to continue to share the remarkable stories behind the hit songs with the terrific fans there.”

Each CMA Songwriters Series showcases the best of country music’s writers in an intimate, personal setting. Each songwriter takes turns on-stage, with a guitar, and explain what inspired them to write hit songs for themselves or other artists, and then play the original version for fans in attendance.

What do you think about “All Kinds of Kinds” being the potentially final single from “Four The Record”? What song do you wish was released as a single from Miranda’s past albums?

While we might still get one more single from Miranda Lambert‘s fourth album, “Four The Record,” the Texan superstar has admitted that she’ll be working on her next solo album as soon as August. For fans expecting more angry, break-up anthems from the fiery singer they might be in for a shock – she’s been listening to a different kind of country lately.

In an interview with AZ Central, Miranda said:

“I’m going into the studio in August to make my fifth solo album. And I think I’m just gonna have fun because I’ve been serious a lot. I’ve written songs about killing people and sad songs, and I really want to do a tour that’s just a lot of fun, so I want to do an album with more fun songs. And I mean, don’t get me wrong. I’ll definitely have my serious Miranda Lambert-style songs, but everything I’m listening to now that I’m liking is kind of a jam that you could listen to driving around on back roads or on your boat.”

Miranda also admits that she gets nervous when making her albums:

“Yeah! I mean, I freak out every time. I’m like a basket case when it’s time to make a record. I get so nervous as to ‘Is this gonna work? Is this gonna be the album that stops selling, that stops getting nominated?’ I know that I can’t live like that. I can’t do my whole career like that. But it definitely crosses my mind.”

Miranda just released her second Pistol Annies album, “Annie Up,” earlier this year.

Dierks Bentley Releases New Single “Bourbon in Kentucky”

Dierks Bentley‘s new single “Bourbon in Kentucky” was released to radio today! The song will officially be going for adds on June 10th.

“Bourbon In Kentucky” is the lead single from Bentley’s upcoming seventh studio album, Riser, due out this fall.

The track describes the deepest pain and depression that comes from an unbearable loss, and the lengths a person goes through to try to kill or ease that pain. Bentley began working on the album after he lost his father in June 2012.

Bentley’s intensity in “Bourbon” is matched by the haunting background vocals provided by Kacey Musgraves. He shares:

“I’ve never heard anything like ‘Bourbon’ before. I really love the angst of it. I’ve been there before where you can’t drink your way through a heartache or a broken heart. There’s such an aggressive lonesomeness in this song.”

Bentley also does not want people making assumptions about the upcoming album’s sound:

“I don’t want anyone to have any preconceived notions of what the rest of the album’s going to sound like. I’d just like this first song out there to kind of shatter any expectations.”

Dierks is currently on the road with Miranda Lambert for their Locked & Reloaded Tour.

You can STREAM “Bourbon” right now on www.Dierks.com! Just share via your Facebook or Twitter, and you’ll get to listen to the new track.
