Luke Bryan’s “Crash My Party” Scores Biggest-Selling Week Since 2004

Luke Bryan is unstoppable.

He’s the reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year. He’s selling out shows on tour in a matter of minutes. And he also has a second number one album this week with Crash My Party!

Not only is Crash My Party number one on the Billboard 200 chart, it is the biggest selling week by a male country artist since Tim McGraw in 2004. Bryan’s album debuted with nearly 528,000 units sold according to Nielsen SoundScan.

McGraw was the last male country artist to sell more albums in a week with 766,000 copies moved for Live Like You Were Dying.

Luke had this to share via his website in response to the major news:

I’ve never been this excited about an album that I have put out, and the response I have gotten is really humbling and mind-blowing to me. I am lucky to have some of the best fans in the world, and I am happy to see them enjoying this album as much as I do. I’m just so thankful for my fans and for Country radio for the amazing support.

Crash My Party follows the country superstar’s previous 2013 chart-topper, Spring Break . . . Here to Party, and his double-Platinum 2011 Tailgates & Tanlines.

The album’s title track is a multi-week number one hit! “Crash My Party” recently set a Billboard record as the largest one-week audience since 2005 with 45.5 million listeners and has sold 1.2 million downloads. Bryan’s new single, “That’s My Kinda Night,” is also the highest-debuting single of his career.

It’s safe to say that Luke Bryan’s career is going pretty well.

Congratulations to Luke on all of his success! We are very happy for you!

Luke is currently on the road with Thompson Square and Florida Georgia Line for his Dirt Road Diaries Tour. Several shows are sold out! For info and tour dates, visit http://win.lukebryan.com.

Luke Bryan sells out second Nashville show

Luke Bryan.

Luke Bryan‘s in a lot more demand these days. Just minutes after tickets went on-sale for his second headlining “Dirt Road Diaries” stop in Nashville, the show was completely sold out. The second date was added after the original sold out in five minutes… which is exactly what happened again with the new additional date.

Fans had camped outside Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena in hopes of getting tickets. Luke heard about those fans and had donuts and coffee delivered to them before the tickets went on-sale.

“I have had the most amazing week launching the new album. The overwhelming response of my fans to this new music and to the ‘Dirt Road Diaries Tour’ has blown me away. We are definitely going to have a party in Nashville in October!”

Were you one of the lucky few to score tickets to any of Luke’s tour dates this year? When is the last time you saw him live?

Luke Bryan: Taylor Swift isnt country

Luke Bryan.

Looks like the debate about Taylor Swift‘s loyalty to country music is about to make its rounds again. In an interview with The Huffington Post, Luke Bryan said the superstar wasn’t country anymore.

Luke said:

“I wouldn’t necessarily say she is a country artist. I mean, obviously Taylor Swift started in country, but she morphed into somewhat of a cultural icon, so, who am I to judge what she is?”

But he doesn’t have any problems with stars from other genres trying their hand at country. For example, Kelly Clarkson:

“You know, if Kelly Clarkson wants to do country albums because that’s what inspires her, then let her do it. Look at Kanye West or Ludacris … they aren’t rappin’ and cussin’ like they were on their first few albums, so what does that make them? It’s all in the eye of the beholder and the listener. We all use our outlet to grow ourself.”
