Nominees for ACAs Announced
The nominees were just announced earlier this morning for this year’s American Country Awards. The third edition of the fan-voted award show will once again air live on FOX from Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. While the co-hosts remain the same with Trace Adkins and Kristin Chenoweth, there is something new about the award show – the addition of the “Song Of The Year” category which will honor country music’s top songwriters of 2012. The nominees for Song of the Year are determined by the National Songwriters Association International (NSAI). The award show will air live on December 10th on FOX at 8 pm EST.
Artists leading all nominees this year are Luke Bryan with seven, and Lady Antebellum tying for second with Zac Brown Band with six nominations each. Eric Church and Taylor Swift both have five nominations each. Check out the full list of nominees below and let us know who you’ll be voting for. Fans can vote at theacas.com for their favorite artists, and make sure to tune in December 10th to see who wins!

Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney & Eric Church Added as CMA Award Performers
The CMA Awards are building quite the lineup of performers for their 46th Awards show. ABC has announced that the show’s co-host Carrie Underwood will perform, as will Kenny Chesney, Eric Church & the Band Perry.
The new group of performers join previously announced performers, including Underwood’s co-host Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Kelly Clarkson & the Zac Brown Band.
The show will air on ABC on November 1st, live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena ABC.

Each entrant will also have the chance for five additional entries by dining at a Longhorn Steakhouse during the promotional period and entering their receipt number online. The three grand prize winners will be announced on the Longhorn Facebook page on October 22nd.
Luke is pretty excited about the chance to show some country fans around Music City. He shares:

Luke Bryan is NYC Bound
Capitol Nashville’s Luke Bryan is one busy guy next week. He’s heading off to New York City for multiple national television appearances. On Wednesday, September 5th he’ll perform his brand new single “Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye” on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. The show airs at 12:37 am EST on NBC. Luke will then head over to Good Morning America on Thursday, September 6th. We don’t have an exact time for his appearance on the popular morning talk show, but it kicks off at 7 am EST.
Alongside his upcoming Farm Tour 2012 and his new single, Luke will also be promoting ABC’s CMA Fest special. He serves as co-host to this year’s event alongside The Band Perry‘s Kimberly. The special airs on ABC on September 17th at 9 pm EST.
Luke Bryan’s A Platinum Good Thing
Congratulations to Luke Bryan and the team at Capitol / EMI! His hit single “Rain Is a Good Thing” is now certified platinum by the RIAA for selling more than one million copies digitally since its release, and his super catchy hit “Country Girl (Shake It For Me)” is now double platinum for selling more than two million copies.
“Rain Is A Good Thing” was his 2009 single from his album “Doin’ My Thing,” and was a co-write by Luke with Dallas Davidson. It was his first number one single on the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart. “Country Girl (Shake It For Me)” is from Luke’s latest album “Tailgates & Tanlines” and was another co-write by Luke and Dallas. The hit single was born out of Luke’s love for hip hop music, and the pair decided that country music needed more songs to dance to.

Little Big Town‘s “Pontoon,” a playful ode to mmmmmotorboating, has certainly been the undeniable country hit of the summer. With its infectious hook, cheery beat and playful lyrics, the song certainly has a ton of appeal…including with celebs! With appearances by everyone from Carrie Underwood to Luke Bryan to Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker and Hunter Hayes, this fun video certainly celebrates 2012′s summer anthem.

Luke Bryan Announces 4th Annual Farm Tour
Country music’s own Luke Bryan has just announced plans for a fourth annual Farm Tour. The latest edition will kick off in October, with eight concerts planned in the Southern United States. Four of those dates will be in his home state of Georgia. The tour’s first date is in Claxton, GA. Tickets for the first four dates are on-sale today through lukebryan.com/farmtour.
Each date includes a tailgate and coolers are allowed at the shows. Here’s the dates for Luke’s Farm Tour 2012:

VIDEO: Luke Bryan Sings Anthem At MLB All-Star Game
Luke Bryan is generating some controversy over his performance of the Star Spangled Banner at last night’s MLB All-Star Game. Luke, who performed a great version of the anthem, was caught multiple times looking down at his hand throughout his performance. While some believe he was looking at the words he may have written down on his hand, others are saying he was looking at his watch to keep time with the flyover and fireworks. What do you think?
