Luke Bryan to release new album August 13th

The Academy of Country Music’s Entertainer of the Year Luke Bryan will be releasing his fourth studio album this summer! He announced the big news last night on Late Night with David Letterman. The record will be released on August 13th, 2013 with lead single “Crash My Party.” There’s no title yet for the new release.

The news comes as Luke’s hit album “Tailgates & Tanlines” was just certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for selling more than two million copies since its release.

Luke will be returning to the road on his “Dirt Road Diaries” headlining tour on May 17th in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The tour will run through right until October.

Luke is currently nominated for four CMT Music Awards including Video of The Year and will perform on the show Wednesday, June 5.

Luke Bryan’s new single Crash My Party out now!

Country star Luke Bryan had a busy night last night at the 2013 ACM Awards at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. On top of hosting the show and taking home the fan-voted Entertainer of the Year award, Bryan debuted a brand new song entitled “Crash My Party.” The track, available now on iTunes, will appear on Luke’s upcoming 4th studio album, due later this year.

Luke recently appeared on the cover of Billboard Magazine in a story that highlights the success of this past year, including his most recent album, Spring Break…Here to Party, reaching #1 on the Billboard 200 album chart.

ACMs have best audience in 15 years

Looks like we’ll be seeing more of Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan next year, if audience numbers are anything to go by. The Academy of Country Music and CBS are reporting that they had their best audience in over 15 years, beating out the NCAA Basketball Tournament, NBA Basketball, MLB Baseball, and more. It’s the best numbers since 1998 for the ACM Awards.

The 48th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS led CBS to a Sunday night victory as the night’s top program in viewers and demographics with the event’s highest measures in viewers since 1998, in households and adults 18-49 since 2001, and in adults 25-54 since 2000, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for April 7. Sunday night’s broadcast also marked the first time that the ACM Awards have beaten the same season’s Country Music Awards (CMAs) in these ratings categories since the advent of people meters.

THE ACM AWARDS swept the night in households (9.2/14), viewers (15.38m), adults 25-54 (5.3/12) and adults 18-49 (4.3/11). THE ACM AWARDS posted its best deliveries in households and adults 18-49 since 2001, in adults 25-54 since 2000 and largest audience since 1998. Compared to last year’s ceremony (on April 1), THE ACM AWARDS was up +16% in households (from 7.9/13), +26% in adults 25-54 (from 4.2/10), +39% in adults 18-49 (from 3.1/08) and added +2.29m viewers (from 13.09m, +17%).

Compared to “The CMA Awards” on ABC on Nov. 1, THE ACM AWARDS was ahead by +8% in households (from 8.5/13), +13% in both adults 25-54 (from 4.7/11) and adults 18-49 (from 3.8/10), and led by +1.70m viewers (from 13.68m, +12%).

THE ACM AWARDS also broke records online and on social media. According to BlueFin Labs today THE ACM AWARDS were #1 in this week’s Top 10 Social Shows, with 1.9 million social media comments and 619.4 million impressions – beating out the 2013 NCAA Basketball Tournament, NBA Basketball, MLB Baseball and The Voice, among others. The number of unique commenters about the Awards telecast this year surged to 613,000+, a record high.

Winners have been announced for the 48th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, a star-studded ceremony broadcast LIVE tonight on the CBS Television Network from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.  Fans named Luke Bryan, Entertainer of the Year, the evening’s biggest honor and his first win in that category. This year marked a record breaking year with 1.1 million fans casting their vote for Entertainer of the Year and New Artist of the Year categories, combined.

Bryan co-hosted the ACM Awards for the first time ever tonight with Blake Shelton. Prior to the telecast, Bryan won for Vocal Event of the Year with Jason Aldean and Eric Church, for “The Only Way I Know,” a trophy he accepted on the GAC live red carpet pre-show. The Entertainer of the Year Award and Vocal Event of the Year mark his fourth ACM Award wins. He previously won in 2009 for both New Solo Vocalist of the Year and for New Artist of the Year.

Miranda Lambert won for the fourth consecutive year as Female Vocalist of the Year and she also took the prize for Single Record of the Year as artist, and Song of the Year, as artist and composer, for “Over You,” an award she shares with husband and co-composer Blake Shelton.  She is the leading winner of the night, with a total of four trophies in three categories.  She joins Reba and Loretta Lynn as the only other artists to win Female Vocalist of the Year four or more times.

Jason Aldean won Male Vocalist of the Year, his first win in the category.  Aldean also won for Vocal Event of the Year, with Luke Bryan and Eric Church, for “The Only Way I Know.”  This is his second consecutive win in that category; he won last year with Kelly Clarkson for “Don’t You Wanna Stay.”  In 2005, he won for New Male Vocalist of the Year.

Little Big Town won Vocal Group of the Year and, prior to the telecast, they were also awarded the trophy for Video of the Year for “Tornado.” This is their first win in both categories.  In 2006, they won for New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year.

Thompson Square won Vocal Duo of the Year, their second consecutive ACM Award win in that category.

Eric Church won Album of the Year for Chief. He also won for Vocal Event of the Year, with Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan, for “The Only Way I Know.” This is his first win in both categories, and his third ACM Award overall. He won for New Solo Vocalist of the Year in 2010.

Artists Florida Georgia Line received their first time Academy of Country Music Award tonight for New Artist of the Year Presented by Kohl’s Department Stores, a fan-voted category.  They previously won in the New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year category, giving them a total of two wins for this year.

Luke Bryan To Debut Brand-New Single “Crash My Party” At The ACM Awards

At this Sunday’s ACM Awards, Luke Bryan will be pulling double-duty: co-hosting and performing. The first time host will debut a never-before-heard song from his forthcoming fourth studio album. The song, entitled “Crash My Party,” will be available for purchase following the show that evening.

In addition to co-hosting and performing, Luke has four nominations, including the coveted Entertainer Of The Year. He is also nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Vocal Event of the Year for “The Only Way I Know” with Jason Aldean and Eric Church. He is also on the cover of this week’s Billboard Magazine, labeled as “country’s next poster boy.”
