CountryMusicIsLove to Host 3rd Annual City of Hope Benefit Concert

2012CMILPosterWebSize

If you find yourself in the Nashville area at the end of this month, you won’t want to miss this great opportunity to support our fellow country music bloggers CountryMusicIsLove and the City of Hope!

CountryMusicIsLove is proud to announce the 3rd Annual CountryMusicIsLove Concert benefiting City of Hope, one of the nation’s leading research, treatment and education centers for cancer and other life-threatening diseases. This year’s concert will feature acoustic performances by Micheal Ray, Chris Cavanaugh, Kristen Kelly, THE FARM, JT Hodges, Chuck Wicks, Love and Theft, Casey James, and Craig Campbell. Whitney Duncan will do double duty as host and performer for the second year in a row.

The cause hits close to home for many of the artists, including Casey James. “My family has been massively affected by cancer,” James shares. “My Paw-Paw passed away last year from cancer. My Nana passed away from cancer and my mother is a two-time cancer survivor, thyroid and breast. I can go on and on. There’s a large history of that in my family. Anything I can do to help and to do my part to make things better, I’ve always been into doing that, so it was an honor to be asked to come out and play. I’m excited to play the music and come see the fans, but most excited just to be a part of the whole thing.”

The 3nd Annual CountryMusicIsLove Concert benefiting City of Hope will be held February 21, 2012 at 7:30pm at Exit/In in Nashville, Tenn. Tickets are $15 and 100% of tickets sales will be donated to City of Hope. Tickets are available here: http://bit.ly/cmiltickets.

Here’s a successful case of addition by subtraction.  Love and Theft went from being a trio to being a duo to being nominated for an ACM award.

Stephen Barker Liles and Eric Gunderson nabbed a nomination for Vocal Duo of the Year.  As the below video shows, the guys are just a little bit excited about it:

Love And Theft Change Lead Single

RCA Nashville’s duo Love And Theft were originally going to release “She’s Amazing” as their debut single from their album, but looks like radio and fan demand made them change their mind. The duo announced on their Facebook page last night that they will now send out “Angel Eyes” to country radio. The single shows off the duo’s harmonies in a catchy little tune.

Love And Theft are now a duo since Brian Bandas left the group last year. Check out a live performance of their new single thanks to a fan in Arizona:

The once trio, now duo, Love and Theft are back in action with a brand new single, “She’s Amazing.” The slow jam tune will be a hit with fans who have come to expect gorgeous vocals and killer hooks from the group. Plus, who doesn’t love hearing two cuties talk about how great their girls are?! It’s no wonder Taylor Swift fell for a half of this super duo. (FYI – Taylor’s “Hey Stephen” is about Love and Theft’s Stephen Barker Liles”) Take a listen for yourself below, then tell us what you think in the comments. Are you excited to here more music from the boys of Love and Theft?

How Sony Music’s Restructuring Effects Country Music

Carrie Underwood & Brad Paisley.

Country music fans have been a little worried and confused this week over the announcement of Sony Music’s restructuring of its labels. While no major acts have been dropped, a lot of shuffling has gone on. We have the new artist lists by label here for you to help ease that confusion while the official websites get caught up and switch over. With the removal of Columbia Nashville, Miranda Lambert and the Pistol Annies were one of the acts switched to a different branch of Sony Music Nashville.
