Songwriter Liz Anderson Passes Away

Country music songwriter Liz Anderson passed away last night at the age of 80 from complications of heart and lung disease. She was hospitalized on Thursday, October 27th and was in stable condition at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.

Liz was the co-founder of the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) with her husband Casey. She became known for writing the Merle Haggard song “Strangers,” and for writing for Conway Twitty, Del Reeves and her daughter, Lynn Anderson.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.

Country singer-songwriter Liz Anderson was hospitalized yesterday with complications from heart and lung disease. She’s in stable condition at St. Thomas Hospital.

Liz is the co-founder of the Nashville Songwriters Association International along with her husband Casey. Liz is known for writing Merle Haggard’s “Strangers,” and her songs she wrote for Conway Twitty, Del Reeves and Lynn Anderson, her daughter.

She’s asked that flowers and donations be sent to the NSAI Legislative Fund.
