All For The Hall: A Night To Remember

bilde

Last night (04/10), some of the biggest names in country music gathered at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville in front of a crowd of 16,000 to raise money for the Country Music Hall of Hame and Museum.

This is the third year Keith Urban and Vince Gill have put on the All For The Hall show. Following suit with giving themes to each of the past shows, Keith made this year’s theme duos, vocal groups and bands. And some of the best acts were in attendance: Rascal Flatts, The Oak Ridge Boys, Diamond Rio, Pistol Annies, Lady Antebellum, The Band Perry, Thompson Square, Little Big Town and Alabama.

If that set list wasn’t enough, Keith added to the excitement by bringing out some special guests including Merle Haggard and Don Williams.

Both Keith and Vince acted as co-musical directors and house band leaders. They sat in on most songs and brought their bands together throughout the night.

The best moment of the night, of course, was Keith’s surprise: Rascal Flatts brought out a black duffel bag for Keith for him to find an Opry microphone stand inside. Read more about Keith’s surprise here.

Little Big Town To Sing Hunter Hayes Song at ACMs

acm

Country music group Little Big Town are teaming up with the Academy of Country Music’s Lifting Lives to help raise awareness of childhood hunger in the United States. They will perform “Here’s Hope,” an original song co-written by ACM New Artist of the Year nominee Hunter Hayes, during the 47th annual ACM Awards broadcast on April 1st. The performance is sponsored by ConAgra Foods’ Child Hunger Ends Here Campaign, with Hunter introducing the special musical moment. Little Big Town will be joined by the Clark Country Children’s Choir for the powerful performance.

“When I first learned about ACM Lifting Lives a few years ago, I immediately asked to be a part of this amazing organization,” said Kimberly Schlapman of Little Big Town.  “Lifting Lives seeks out needs and takes care of people. They work hard at giving both children and adults comfort, contentment and happiness. We are so honored and excited to be a part of the very special Lifting Lives moment to end child hunger on the ACM Awards.  We can’t wait!”

After Hunter found out that one in five children in America don’t know where they will get their next meal, he teamed up with songwriters Luke Laird and Barry Dean to pen “Here’s Hope.” They wrote the song hoping to inspire music fans to help fight childhood hunger in the United States.

“What I didn’t realize – and what most people may not know – is that child hunger is not a faraway problem; it’s a problem right here in our own backyards,” said Hunter. “The good news though is that this is a problem we can all help solve together. My hope is that through music, we can inspire people to get involved and finally put an end to child hunger in our country.”

Hunter has been dedicated and to his partnership with ConAgra Foods to help fight childhood hunger in the United States through the ConAgra Foods Child Hunger Ends Here campaign that has lead to a donation of up to five million meals this year. Fans can join his passion by purchasing specially-marked select ConAgra brands like Chef Boyardee, Banquet, Healthy Choice, Hunt’s, Marie Callender’s, Manwich, Orville Redenbacher’s, Peter Pan and Snack Pack, then visiting ChildHungerEndsHere.com to enter the eight-digit code found on the select packaging. For every code entered through to August 2012, ConAgra Foods will donate the equivalent of one meal to Feeding America. In return for entering the code and supporting the campaign, fans will be able to download their favorite version of “Here’s Hope” including versions from Jewel, Owl City, and Jay Sean.

This year’s ACM Lifting Lives show moment with Little Big Town marks the fourth consecutive year of moving performances for various causes.
