Little Big Town Records Theme For Good Afternoon America

Little Big Town.

Country music group Little Big Town recently recorded and wrote the theme song for ABC’s brand new program “Good Afternoon America.” Their song, appropriately titled “Good Afternoon,” is featured in the opening of the program, as well as in the promo. The song was co-written by the group along with Brett Warren, Brad Warren, and Jay Joyce.

“Sometimes you get unexpected opportunities as an artist,” said Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild. “We loved getting the chance to write and record a song for such a cool show.”

“Good Afternoon America” is currently being anchored by Josh Elliott and Lara Spencer, airing at 2 pm EST live from Times Square in New York City. The group will be making an appearance on the brand new program to perform “Pontoon” on Saturday, August 2nd. v

Katie Armiger Extends “Get Smart” Tour

Katie Armiger.

Fans of Katie Armiger who haven’t had the opportunity to check her out on tour yet are in luck. The songstress has added over twenty-five new dates to her “Get Smart Tour,” which is sponsored by Great American Country (GAC). The tour will end up hitting over fifty major cities across the U.S. with a stop at the Bud Lught Stage at the Bridgestone Arena on June 8th for CMA Music Fest.

The tour began in March and will continue through November, and has already been a great experience for Armiger. “This tour has been incredible so far getting to meet and make new fans – and it only keeps getting better,” said Katie. “No artist can ask for a better outcome from a tour than for it to be a success that dates are continually being added. Thank you to everyone for all of your support, it’s because of all of you that this tour is what it is!”

The aptly named “Get Smart Tour” is Armiger’s first as a headliner and is hitting colleges, universities, fairs and festivals across the country. Armiger will be sure to play her hit songs including “Scream,” Kiss Me Now” and “Leaving Home,” while mixing in some new material that she’s been writing for her upcoming fourth album.

Amongst her repertoire as an acclaimed independent artist, Armiger was voted by fans as Country Weekly’s #1 hottest bachelorette. She has previously opened for the likes of Darius Rucker, Ronnie Dunn, Little Big Town, Kellie Pickler, and Luke Bryan

Gloriana(Kissed You) Goodnight

This has been a song stuck in my head since Warner Music played it for us at the CRS Luncheon with Faith Hill back in February. It’s one of those music videos that actually follows the story of the song, and it flows pretty nicely. It’s a pretty song with the perfect video production, and for that it’s our video pick of the week for music video. Check out “(Kissed You) Goodnight” and let us know what you think:

Little Big Town Releasing Pontoon Video Friday

Little Big Town.

Country music group Little Big Town will be releasing their brand new music video for their groovy little summer single “Pontoon” on Friday on People.com. The video, which will feature Premier Pontoons, was filmed out on Percy Priest Lake near Nashville, Tennessee. The shoot included three pontoons from Premier’s line, which was used to transport the band, crew, and team before and after the shoot. The group then headed out on a pontoon for a sunset cruise when filming wrapped up.

“We’re so pleased to see Premier’s pontoons showcased in such a different way,” says Premier president Bob Menne. “It’s great to have pontooning recognized in today’s pop culture as a relaxing, fun and youthful activity. And what better way to show it than in a music video just in time for summer.”

After fans see the pontoons featured in Friday’s music video release, they might want one of their own. Little Big Town is teaming up with iHeartradio to giveaway a pontoon after the single’s release to iTunes.

All For The Hall: A Night To Remember

Last night (04/10), some of the biggest names in country music gathered at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville in front of a crowd of 16,000 to raise money for the Country Music Hall of Hame and Museum.

This is the third year Keith Urban and Vince Gill have put on the All For The Hall show. Following suit with giving themes to each of the past shows, Keith made this year’s theme duos, vocal groups and bands. And some of the best acts were in attendance: Rascal Flatts, The Oak Ridge Boys, Diamond Rio, Pistol Annies, Lady Antebellum, The Band Perry, Thompson Square, Little Big Town and Alabama.

If that set list wasn’t enough, Keith added to the excitement by bringing out some special guests including Merle Haggard and Don Williams.

Both Keith and Vince acted as co-musical directors and house band leaders. They sat in on most songs and brought their bands together throughout the night.

The best moment of the night, of course, was Keith’s surprise: Rascal Flatts brought out a black duffel bag for Keith for him to find an Opry microphone stand inside. Read more about Keith’s surprise here.
