September 5 – Chesney, a four-time CMA Entertainer of the Year winner, was once again nominated for the award, along with Music Video of the Year for “Come Over” and Musical Event of the Year for “Feel Like a Rock Star,” his duet with Tim McGraw. “The longing of this frustrated, angry, soul-searching emotion this person is feeling… I think it defines a lot of people,” Chesney said of “El Cerrito Place.” “I have felt all that emotion, and I’ve lived the song for so long. I just love what it says and I love the way Keith Gattis wrote it.”

September 22 – Chesney and his band will join Neil Young, Willie Nelson, Dave Matthews and John Mellencamp at Farm Aid on September 22. Country music’s touring king Kenny Chesney has a few sweet sixteens to celebrate. Kenny Chesney & Tim McGraw Make History

Kenny Chesney & Tim McGraw.

When country music superstars Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw teamed up for the “Brothers Of The Sun Tour,” fans everywhere knew it was going to be huge. They’ve sold over one million tickets for this tour alone a few weeks back, and have sold-out nearly every date on their stadium tour so far.The pair have once again made history during their stop at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey, where their show became the largest ticketed event ever in New Jersey or New York City history.

“The excitement and buzz for this show was through the roof since the day it was announced,” said Interim Metlife Stadium Pres. Ron Vandeveen. “We couldn’t imagine how last year’s ‘Goin’ Coastal‘ show could be topped, but this truly was the biggest country show we’ve ever seen.”

With the tour starting to wind down with only a handful of shows left, Kenny addressed the New Jersey crowd:

“I want to thank you for having us back, and thank you for letting us be a part of your summer. After tonight we only have four shows left, and we’re gonna take this night with us all winter.”

Tim will be heading to Vegas with his wife, Faith Hill, in December for a special engagement of shows for Soul2Soul at the Venetian. It’s the first time Tim and Faith have performed together on American soil in six years. Will you be going?

Kenny Chesney’s Come Over Goes Gold!

Kenny Chesney.

Congratulations to Kenny Chesney at the team at Blue Chair Records & Sony Music Nashville! His latest single “Come Over” from his “Welcome To The Fishbowl” album is officially gold after selling more than 500,000 copies digitally since its release. The single was certified gold by the RIAA and is the fastest-rising single of Kenny’s career, rising to number two on the Mediabase chart in only nine weeks. The album’s first single, a duet with Tim McGraw for “Feel Like A Rockstar,” was a top ten hit.

The single was co-written by Shane McAnally, Josh Osborne, and Sam Hunt. It’s a song that’s pretty personal to Kenny, who says:

‘”Come Over’ is one of the most emotionally universal songs I’ve ever recorded. When you break up with someone, you don’t break up all at once. You break up over time. And that’s the thread of the song. Letting go is hard.”

Kenny is out with Tim on their “Brothers Of The Sun Tour.” At their recent stop in Denver, Colorado, Kenny addressed the sold-out crowd with a personal message about the Aurora tragedy:

“Me and my road family are just like the rest of the nation, hurting with this city tonight. We love you, and we’re with you, and if you guys will let us, we want to let music start to heal this town just a little bit tonight.”

Kenny and Tim’s next stop is at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis and Browns Stadium in Cleveland.

Kenny Chesney.

Country music superstar Kenny Chesney is being honored by one of his favorite things. He’s sold out six shows at Pittsburgh’s Heinz Field, and to celebrate that achievement, the Pittsburgh Steelers presented him with a “six for six” plaque before his Brothers Of The Sun tour stop there. The Steelers have won six championships. Kenny, a big football fan, was pretty excited about this gift. He shares:

“I believe this might be the best gift I’ve ever gotten on the roa. “It epitomizes all the heart and energy and passion that this crowd has, that this town has.”

Kenny’s latest single “Come Over” from “Welcome To The Fishbowl” is out at radio now. Who do you think has the best live show in country music?

Kenny Chesney’s “Welcome To The Fishbowl” Debuts at #1

Kenny-Chesney-Album-300-2012

Kenny Chesney‘s Welcome To The Fishbowl album debuted today at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums Chart with more than 193,000 albums sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan. This is the 11th consecutive album of Chesney’s to debut at #1. If that doesn’t make him feel like a rockstar, then I don’t know what would.

Welcome To The Fishbowl also debuted at #2 on the all-genre Billboard 200 Chart. First-week sales of Welcome To The Fishbowl surpass the first-week sales of his last three album releases, including the platinum-selling, critically acclaimed Hemingway’s Whiskey, which produced four #1 singles and a top 5 song. ”This dramatic increase in sales is a real testament to the strength of his new music, as well as the continued momentum of his career at every level,” said Gary Overton, Sony Music Nashville Chairman & CEO.

Welcome To The Fishbowl has already produced one top 10 hit “Feel Like A Rock Star” with ‘Brothers of the Sun” Tour partner Tim McGraw, and his current single, “Come Over” is one of the fastest rising singles in his career. Album release week activities included a free, 75-minute concert directed for a live stream by Academy Award-winning director Jonathan Demme as part of the American Express “Unstaged” series, as well as performances on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and The Today Show Summer Concert Series. Chesney wrapped the week with stadium shows in Nashville and Charlotte.

Next up, Kenny will take part in NBC’s Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular which airs Wednesday, July 4 from 9-10 pm ET.

Kenny Chesney Fan Kicked Out For Looking Like Kenny

Kenny Chesney.

Here’s a weird story for your Monday afternoon. An unlucky Kenny Chesney fan was escorted out of LP Field Monday night for looking too much like the country music superstar at the Nashville stop of the “Brothers Of The Sun” tour. Nathan Blankenship, who apparently looks like a twin of the singer dressed in a cowboy hat and tank top, was escorted our of the stadium after fans created a scene believing he was Kenny himself. He missed out on the whole concert because of security’s reaction.

In a statement released this morning, Kenny’s concert promoters said they had no idea that Nathan was forced to leave the venue until after it hit press. They are working with Nathan to come to a solution, and confirm that no one in Kenny’s management or promotion were aware of the incident at the concert.

Do you think security messed up here, or were they right to escort Nathan out of LP Field?
