It’s no secret that Kelly Clarkson is one busy lady. She’s planning a tour with Maroon 5, prepping for a wedding to Brandon Blackstock and releasing infectious ear candy with each single. Her latest offering of country confection comes in the form of “Tie It Up,” a twangy tongue-in-cheek ode to courtship and wedding bells.
When she released the single cover, fans wondered who she was actually tied to. Was it her fiance or just some perfectly-manicured hand model? Clarkson revealed yesterday via video that the hand-in-question does in fact belong to her hubby-to-be. Judging from his adorable awkwardness in front of the camera, methinks he’ll be leaving most of the future modeling gigs to his bride.
And while she’s not being adorable in photo shoots, she continues her quest to slay every song you’ve ever heard and make it just a tad bit better. Click to see her become one of Mumford‘s honorary sons on this incredible version of “I Will Wait.”
It is no secret that we love Kelly Clarkson, and we’re pretty excited because radio officially played her new country single, “Tie It Up,” today! That means, studio quality audio has surfaced!
The song is very true to Clarkson’s life right now and her upcoming wedding. She will be marrying Starstruck talent manager, Brandon Blackstock, this fall.
“Tie It Up” was co-written with close friend and singer-songwriter, Ashley Arrison, Shane McAnally, and Josh Osborne. That’s a great songwriting team right there! The song is catchy and fun, and Clarkson’s vocals are always second to none. This is the three-time Grammy winner’s first up beat country single, and what a good choice it was. It has radio hit written all over it.
We are so thrilled that Clarkson is releasing more country music in addition to pop! The single is expected to be released to iTunes and other digital formats on June 25th.
Also, Clarkson is looking for fun wedding photos for the lyric video for “Tie It Up.” Tweet your pictures to @kelly_clarkson with #tieitupvideo. Kelly will be picking her favorites!
And now what we all have been waiting for… listen to “Tie It Up” below:
As we posted yesterday, Kelly Clarkson took the stage at LP Field last night during CMA Fest to world premiere her new single “Tie It Up.” The single art shows her coyly tied to a male companion, while wearing a bridal gown and veil, her real engagement ring on display. On the track, Clarkson mixes her typical powerhouse bluesy rock voice with cute lyrics about tying the knot. The song was written by Kelly Clarkson, Ashley Arrison, Shane McAnally & Josh Osborne.
Give a listen to the song below and let us know what you think! (Personally, we enjoy the “Woo”-s on the chorus!)
Riding on the success and acclaim of “Don’t Rush,” country music’s favorite adopted pop star, Kelly Clarkson, took to Twitter today to reveal the title and cover art for her new single, “Tie It Up.” Although not much is known about the track (yet), Clarkson will be premiering it at LP Field tonight during her set at CMA Fest.
The cover features Clarkson in a wedding dress and veil, her hand tied to someone else’s. Just a hunch, but we’re thinking this tune has a little something to do with her rumored October wedding to fiance Brandon Blackstock. Stay tuned for more!
Kelly Clarkson: Pop star. Crossover country star. Reality shows mentor. Honorary McEntire. Sitcom star?
Although that last role may seem a bit far-fetched for the crossover country star, Clarkson will be adding yet another role to her already impressive resume. This fall, she will appear alongside of Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar in the pilot for a new CBS show, The Crazy Ones. Although she’s appeared on the small screen as a guest on Reba and a mentor on Duets, this may be Clarkson’s most risque role since grinding against Justin Guarini in From Justin to Kelly.
In the pilot, Clarkson plays a hilariously exaggerated and oversexed version of herself, while Williams and Gellar play a father-daughter advertising team. So you’ve got Mrs. Doubtfire, Buffy and the original American Idol in one place? We’ll be tuning in to CBS on Thursdays this fall at 9pm!
It’s no secret that Blake Shelton is a modern-day Renaissance man. He’s a singer, host, Voice-coach, professional tweeting entertainer extraordinaire. However, he’s adding a new role to his repertoire: minister.
Now now, pick up your jaw from the floor. Blake isn’t dumping Miranda for a monastery or anything crazy. However, he will be officiating the wedding between his pals, Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock.
Although they have yet to nail down a date, Clarkson revealed to “Entertainment Tonight”‘s Nancy O’Dell that the nuptials will take place this October with Blake at the altar. Although some would be worried about entrusting their wedding to Shelton, Clarkson has the utmost trust in her bud’s poise. Plus, she’s admits, she’ll already be married. “Well, you’re technically already married when the ceremony happens. So it’s not like it’s gonna be null and void or anything ’cause it’s Blake.”
Clarkson also revealed that she already has a dress, and that she isn’t the only superstar Blake will be marrying! Watch the interview below!
Maybe the question of Kelly Clarkson totally going country may be solved once and for all. While she was performing her country single “Don’t Rush” last night on the Academy of Country Music Awards, country legend Ronnie Dunn revealed some pretty exciting news on his Facebook fan page. Turns out… Kelly is putting together her own Christmas album, and he’ll be a part of it!
Ronnie Dunn: I like Kelly Clarkson…..I’m singing on her Christmas record :)
Maybe the vocal powerhouse got the idea after guesting on Blake Shelton‘s “Cheers… it’s Christmas” record last year. Fans should be able to expect Kelly’s still-untitled Christmas album out this Holiday season. Do you think she should go country or stay pop? Who do you want to see on the album? Let us know!
Next up… “Vocal Event of the Year”! Who doesn’t love a good country collab?
