Tim McGraw celebrated his latest No. one song in Nashville yesterday for the multi-week hit “Highway Don’t Care” with Taylor Swift, featuring Keith Urban on guitar. The monster collaboration is McGraw’s 34th No. one song and second No. one from his Big Machine Records debut, TWO LANES OF FREEDOM. On hand for the celebration were songwriters Brett Warren, Brad Warren and Mark Irwin, Big Machine’s Scott Borchetta, Keith Urban as well as a packed room of friends, industry and press.
During the party, a video was played for the crowd that offers a look at the evolution of the song, from an idea in the writers room to finding its place as one of the most important songs of the year. Interviews from the songwriters (including Josh Kear who was out of the country and unable to attend the festivities), Urban, Swift as well as industry leaders like Lon Helton were included who commented that McGraw “continues to deliver songs to country radio that are really more than No. one’s, they’re game changers. They move the needle.”

Country fans who have been waiting for new music from Keith Urban are going to be a little bit happier today. He revealed the official cover art for his brand new album “Fuse” due out on September 10th on Capitol Nashville. “Fuse” will feature twelve brand new tracks from Keith, including his current single “Little Bit of Everything.”
About his new record, Keith shared:
“These songs just connected with me, whether for their energy or for what they were saying or just for the fact that they made me feel good. All of them have merit and even though we recorded a lot of songs, slowly this particular group started to come together.”
Check out the cover below and let us know what you think – are you excited? He will be revealing new information on his album each week on his official website, so make sure to keep checking back!

Amidst much speculation about the judging panel, it has been confirmed that Keith Urban will be returning to American Idol next season. He will be the only judge returning from last season, as Mariah Carey, Randy Jackson and Nicki Minaj will not be coming back.
According to the Tennessean, Fox chairman Kevin Reilly confirmed Urban’s return this afternoon, praising the country crooner and his appeal to the show’s fans. Reilly says the goal will refocus the show’s attention on the contestants, rather than the judges.
With quite the arsenal of celebrity friends, it’s only fitting for Blake Shelton to bring his new brand of redneck to all facets of the country world. He’s released a “Celebrity Mix” of his current single, “Boys ‘Round Here,” that is sure to have you “red-ing” along with the best of them.
Congratulations to Tim McGraw and the team at Big Machine! His brand new single “Highway Don’t Care” is a number one for the country superstar. The single, which features guest vocals from Taylor Swift and guitar from Keith Urban, has taken over the top spot on both Billboard and Mediabase’s country singles charts. It’s also sold more than one million downloads since its release – giving Tim his first platinum-certified single with Big Machine. Tim’s other two singles from “Two Lanes of Freedom” were both gold-certified singles with the RIAA for selling more than 500,000 copies (“Truck Yeah,” “One Of Those Nights”).
Tim knew the song was special when he heard the demo that was sent to him. He explains:
“I thought this song had the potential to be really special the very first time I heard the demo. And then standing on the stage with Taylor and Keith performing it live for the first time on the ACMs, I knew that it was really the kind of magical collaboration that only comes along every few years. The energy that night was undeniable…I know the three of us could feel it. Radio continues to be supportive and excited about the music we’re giving them, and I’m so thankful for my friends there and for all the fans who have really taken this thing to the next level. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger in our show every night.”
Tim’s number one news comes on the heels of another sold-out weekend of his TWO LANES OF FREEDOM 2013 Tour, powered by Pennzoil, with capacity shows in Indianapolis, IN; Cleveland, OH and Washington, D.C.

The American Idol finale was this week where she finished Top 2 and runner up to Candice Glover. Her debut single “All Cried Out” is available on iTunes. Today is her birthday (Happy Birthday, Kree). And earlier, she received some amazing news… she will be making her Grand Ole Opry debut!
The debut will take place on June 4th. Joining Kree on the Opry will be American Idol judge, Keith Urban. Other previous performers announced for that night include: Rascal Flatts, Kellie Pickler, and Lennon and Maisy from ABC’s Nashville. It sounds like it will be a great show!
The humbled singer was, of course, honored by the invitation:
“I’m speechless. It has been my lifelong dream to perform at the Grand Ole Opry. I am so honored to be invited!”
Congratulations, Kree! We are very excited for you and know you will have a great career. We look forward to following along.
Keith Urban was pulling double duty on American Idol tonight. Our country judge took the stage during the finale to perform his new single, “Little Bit Of Everything” and he sounded great! Check out the video below to watch the performance.
Urban joined the Idol panel this season, and while there have been rumors that the show is cleaning house, there is no official word yet on Urban’s status.
People.com reported that at a press conference on Wednesday, the country superstar stated that he wanted to return as a judge next year:
“I would. I mean, I literally enjoy coming to work every day, and that’s a rarity.”
We would love to see KU back at the judges’ table for Season 13! We hope Idol leaves the decision up to him. While Randy Jackson and Nicki Minaj will not be returning to the panel, there is no official word yet on Mariah Carey.
Reports out this week are indicating that country superstar Keith Urban, along with the rest of the judge panel, will no longer be a part of American Idol’s next season. Keith had left Australia’s version of The Voice to join American Idol this season. Host Ryan Seacrest will remain with the show, becoming the only original member of the cast from the first season that crowned Kelly Clarkson. The 13th season of American Idol will undergo massive changes to try and bring back in the viewers that it has been losing through the last few seasons – including ratings being down 22% this season alone.
As well as the judge changes, FOX will also change how its weekly themed nights will operate. The only thing that may be left that will still resemble American Idol will be the audition episodes. FOX is trying to bring back its core audience, which is believes is younger viewers, and they don’t think that the current judges are doing that.
Country music superstar Tim McGraw will premiere the video for his single, “Highway Don’t Care,” on Monday, May 6th, at 5 pm EST with Google+ Hangout. The single and video feature fellow country mega- stars Taylor Swift and Keith Urban. The music video was directed by Shane Drake.
About the video release, Tim said:
“This video is really more of a short film, and I think it will surprise everyone and hopefully leave a strong impression. Shane brought a lot of passion to the concept we worked on together, and it’s cool that we’ll be able to get an immediate live response from the fans when we introduce it.”
