Although you may not know the name David Fanning just yet, chances are if you’ve turned on country radio recently, you’ve heard a song he’s had his hand in. Since arriving in Nashville seven years ago, he’s been working behind-the-scenes, but now, he’s confidently making the leap from one side of the microphone to the other. And he’s got Justin Timberlake‘s endorsement.
Before moving to Nashville at the age of twenty, David Fanning grew up in Admore, Alabama, which is on the Alabama/Tennesee line, and was always surrounded by music. His family sang 50′s & 60′s Acapella music on weekends, while it was his older sister who listened to country music. In typical younger sibling fashion, David idolized his sister and wanted to be just like her. “She was in the Bryan White fan club, so I had to be like her and be in the Bryan White fanclub.” He laughs, recalling his intro to country music.
David tells us that he played shows whenever the opportunity arose, and at the age of twenty, he packed up and headed to Nashville. Upon arriving in Nashville, he met Rich Redmond, Tully Kennedy, and Kurt Allison, members of Jason Aldean‘s touring and recording band. The foursome began New Voice Entertainment and began writing and producing for new acts. Together, they’ve produced hits such as “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not?,” which David describes as one his first steps into professional production.
Another CMA Awards night has come and gone, but certain moments left lasting impressions on our staff. If you follow us on Twitter, you know we spent the majority of the show cracking on Sheryl Crow‘s hair, Dolly Parton‘s assets, Zac Brown Band‘s beards, and Kacey Musgraves‘ b****y resting face. While those particular things set the stage for our jokes, puns, and #sarcastictweets, our staff compiled a list of our other favorite moments of the night. The following are those award show memories that are ingrained in our minds:
It’s been an active week in the Twitterverse, and at the center of the activity lie some of your favorite country artists. Let’s cut to the chase and laugh together at the best of the best that we caught over the last seven days.
When life imitates art, and art involves driving without hands, you end up in the predicament Luke Bryan ended up in this week. Luke Bryan tweeted “@LukeBryanOnline: Before y’all get out of your truck. Make sure you put it in park. Trust me.”
Some very solid words of advice from Luke. Perhaps he, too, had his hands up while rocking in his truck…
I just saw Runner Runner and had some pleasant Justin Timberlake inspired dreams soon thereafter. Apparently I’m not the only one, based on Jennifer Nettles‘ recent tweet – “@JenniferNettles: I had a dream last night that my baby sleeping beside me yelled out ‘Ladieeees and Gentlemen: Justin Timberlaaaaaake’. ??? @jtimberlake”
Not only is Justin Timberlake taking over the the music and acting world, he is taking over the dream world too. Hey, there are much worse people for your baby to introduce to you in your slumber.
Having 100,000 Twitter followers is a big deal. So, it should come as no surprise that some musicians will go through great lengths to encourage their fans to help them hit that landmark number. See Terri Clark who recently tweeted “@TerriClarkMusic: Ok so the first person to get me 100k twitter followers, gets my first born. Best hurry. My Ovaries=californiaraisinsdoingthebackstroke”
Perhaps an interesting offer, but if the kid pops out singing the way his/her mom does, it might be worth your while…
If you frequent the gym, you know there is always that character who flexes in the mirror and not-so-discretely checks himself out. Sunny Sweeney was lucky enough to spot that guy during her recent workout. Sunny tweeted “@GettinSweeney: The grunting slaps-his-stomach-in-the-mirror guy is in the gym. Yay! No.” Not long after Sunny tweeted, calling out the narcissistic gym-goer, she followed it up with “I also saw someone I knew in the gym. I hope he doesn’t think my last tweet was about him. Bahaha!!!”
Sir who Sunny knew in the gym, rest assure she was not mocking you. However, if you do, in fact, grunt and slap your stomach in the mirror, WE ARE mocking you.
Remember to send us your favorite country music celebrity tweets to us each week by including #KICcelebtweets in your tweet!
Pop superstar, and sometimes actor, Justin Timberlake was caught hanging out with a country music legend last weekend in Mississippi. We have pictures of Justin with Hank Williams Jr. backstage after Hank’s concert in Southhaven, MS. Hank had nothing but good things to say about the former boyband member, who apparently knows more about country music than fans may have realized:
“What a great guy! Justin is a friend of my rebel son Kid Rock. He sure is a good country boy. We talked about girls, guitars, turkey hunting, going on cruises and how much we hate them, even though Bobby (Kid Rock) is on one right now and loving it, ugh! Hell, Justin and I even talking about recording a blues song sometime.”
Check out the pictures of the two backstage below:
