Florida Georgia Line Cruisin’ Up the Country Charts

They may be a new name in country music, but the guys of Florida Georgia Line (FGL)  are quickly cruising up the country radio charts with their first single “Cruise.” The country rock duo’s summertime anthem has already hit the Top 50 on the Music Row Country Breakout Chart, selling over 20,000 copies in just seven weeks.

“Cruise” is featured on their new Big Loud Mountain EP “It’z Just What We Do” produced by Joey Moi (Jake Owen, Nickelback). The EP debuted at number 35 on Billboard’s Country Albums Chart and the EP is available at all digital retailers.

“Cruise” was written by FGL’s Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley along with Joey Moi, Chase Rice and Jesse Rice and is quickly becoming a fan favorite during live shows. It has received rave reviews from critics and country radio. SiriusXM recently named the track a Highway Find and Music Row Magazine awarded the track the Discovery Award. The mag describes the song, saying, “After an a cappella intro, this takes off like a speedboat on a glassy lake. The track is rushing and wooshing, and the voices are sprightly. What more do you want? Get on board.” American Songwriter notes, “…it’s likely already attached itself into the heads of everyone who’s listened to it…”
This up and coming duo will be cruising across the U.S. all summer long with the 2012 Country Throwdown Tour with Gary Allan, Rodney Atkins, and Justin Moore.

Update on Justin Moore Fatal Accident

One of Justin Moore‘s tour buses were in a fatal accident on the weekend in Illinois. While Justin was not on-board at the time of the wreck on Saturday, a victim in another vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. A car driven by Joseph Taylor had hit the bus from behind, and when he got out to inspect the damage on both vehicles, he was struck by another car and was pron0unced dead at the scene.  The traffic on Interstate 57 at Illinois Route 16 was re-routed for several hours after the accident.

Justin broke the news himself on Twitter a few hours after it had happened:

“Thankful my band and crew guys are all good. They got hit by a car this morning in their bus. Prayers go out to the guy who lost his life and his family. You never know man. You have to be prepared to meet God today, ’cause it may be your last.”

Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family, and that of Justin’s band and crew.

Man Dies After Justin Moore Bus Crash

Our thoughts are with Justin Moore and his crew, and the family of the man involved in a crash today. One man lost his life after an accident with one of Justin’s tour buses. Justin broke the devastating news earlier today on Twitter:

@JustinColeMoore: Thankful my band and crew guys are all good. They got hit by a car this morning in their bus. Prayers go out to the guy who lost his life.

Justin followed the Tweet up with a sobering second one.

@JustinColeMoore: And his family. You never know man. You have to be prepared to meet God today, cause it may be your last.

There’s no other information available at this time. Justin and his crew escaped without injury.

EXCLUSIVE: Interview With Jason Charles Miller

Jason Charles Miller is definitely not your ordinary urban cowboy. Rather, he represents the dark, gritty side of country music – the type of country music that should receive more acknowledgement than it does.

Regardless, this Virginia native knows his way around the entertainment industry. Although he might be most known for heading the rock band Godhead, Jason has travelled many paths throughout his life. His impressive resume includes writing, producing, voiceover recording and acting. If that wasn’t enough, Jason is busy overseeing his own recording studio, Central Command Studios.

We caught up with Jason today to talk about the release of his new single “Up To Me,” his recent signing with Render Records, how he feels about the music industry and what he has to offer.

We can promise you that this man has a mind and heart evident in both his thoughts and music that any country music fan could appreciate and love. Take a look for yourself:

Justin Moore Releases Statement on Ashton Kutcher

Just over a week since Justin Moore and Miranda Lambert had both taken to Twitter to protest Ashton Kutcher’s appearance at the Academy of Country Music Awards, Justin has released an official statement on his stance. While Miranda has chosen to stay quiet since the Twitter feud of Nashville versus Hollywood erupted, Justin has chosen to not back down – with the support of Nashville radio behind him. Justin made an appearance on Fox News over the controversy, calling Ashton’s performance “distasteful” but did invite the actor to one of his shows to try and patch things up between the two of them.

Ashton turned to Twitter to try and defend his appearance at the award show:

“I grew up idolizing the style of Highway Men, Hank, Merle, Patsy Cline, Dolly. Starting to wonder if new country just doesn’t get it.  Justin Moore calls it mocking I call it respecting your Elders. Maybe that’s old fashion. Know when to fold em brother…”

Justin has released an official statement on the matter:

“I stand by what I said about Ashton Kutcher’s appearance at the ACM’s.  I don’t know him, he may be a nice guy, but I felt like he insulted a lot of us who live and breathe country music and the lifestyle.  I’d be happy to sit down with him at some point and see just how much he knows about country music, he said he’s a big fan.  It’s just my opinion and everyone’s entitled to one.”

What do you think? Are Justin and Miranda right and was Ashton making fun of country music? Or are some people being a little too sensitive?
