Other country singers expected to attend include American Idol runner-up Lauren Alaina, Kix Brooks, Survivor contestant Whitney Duncan, Martina McBride, and many others.

There is no denying that Julianne Hough is a triple threat, and the country sweetheart has just landed another big-screen gig. This spring, Hough is set to star in a new movie opposite Russell Brand. The project is still untitled, but Hough will be playing a young woman who questions her faith after surviving a plane crash and subsequently gets lost in the excessive nightlife of Las Vegas.
Film credits to Hough’s name include Burlesque, Footloose, and Rock of Ages. Footloose marks her first lead role and hits theaters on October 14th. Production on Rock of Ages has wrapped and is slated for release next June.
Julianne Hough helped kick off the voting campaign for the “Hero Dog Awards” in New York City on June 20th. Each vote for the lucky canines in the eight categories will be matched by a donation to the American Humane Association by Cesar Canine Cuisine. Proceeds will go towards assisting specially trained dogs used for animal therapy.
Hough visited patients who use the therapy dogs, and performed a few of her songs acoustically. She also shared stories on how her pets have helped her cope with loneliness on the road.
The Hero Dog Awards will air on the Hallmark Channel on November 1st.
