Duck The Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas, the Duck Dynasty cast’s Christmas album, is hitting shelves on October 29th. Expect the album to be filled with classics and originals … and King George?!
You read that correctly. George Strait! George is singing Christmas Cookies with Phil and Miss Kay, while Luke Bryan, Josh Turner, and Alison Krauss are also making cameos on the album. And if all of the above isn’t enough to make you quack up, Si will be bringing his musical stylings to the album with his rendition of You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch.
“I am thrilled and honored that so many of George’s friends are coming to what would have been his last concert, but is not a fitting tribute,” says Nancy Jones. “George loved these artists and before passing had actually wrote letters to almost all of them.”
The new list of performers will join an already star-studded lineup that includes Alan Jackson, Dierks Bentley, Travis Tritt, Tanya Tucker, Josh Turner, The Oak Ridge Boys, Charlie Daniels, Jamey Johnson, Montgomery Gentry, Sam Moore, and others. All previously announced artists are currently being reconfirmed.
With quite the arsenal of celebrity friends, it’s only fitting for Blake Shelton to bring his new brand of redneck to all facets of the country world. He’s released a “Celebrity Mix” of his current single, “Boys ‘Round Here,” that is sure to have you “red-ing” along with the best of them.
Things are starting to get a little worse for Billy Currington. After news that he was indicted on making terroristic threats towards a charter boat captain who had passed by his dock, NASCAR has announced that he will be replaced by Josh Turner at the Sprint All-Star Race. The line-up change was made official on Friday morning. The race and concert was scheduled for May 18th, and officials chose to go with the South Carolina native as Billy’s replacement.
Marcus Smith, President and general manager of the Charlotte Motor Speedway, said:
“Due to Currington’s recent indictment, we elected to change our act for the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race.”
Billy had turned himself in to authorities on April 15th after he was indicted. He posted bail a few hours later in Savannah, Georgia. His indictment also included an elder abuse charge as the boat captain is over 70 years old.
