Dierks Bentley Announces 2014 Riser Tour

Dierks Bentley

Dierks Bentley caused quite the commotion on Wednesday when he hacked CMT’s Twitter to announce his 2014 RISER TOUR with special guests Chris Young, Chase Rice, and Jon Pardi.

Bentley sent a series of tweets hinting at a major announcement and even posted a selfie to prove he was really behind the tweets before finally tweeting, “Looks like Goldie will be working overtime this year. Y’all ready for a #RISERTOUR?!”  And fans were indeed ready, as Twitter burst with excitement in the following hours.

“This tour is the culmination of everything I’ve been working on for the past two years, both out on the road and in the studio recording RISER,” explains the “I Hold On” singer.  Bentley knows exactly what his fans want – “a kick ass show, an affordable ticket and a good parking lot scene to get the pre-gaming going,” he says, and promises to deliver.

Fans can begin to purchase tickets for the first leg of the tour, which kicks off on May 9 in Charlotte, NC, on January 24.

With the release of his album RISER on February 25 and the announcement of the associated RISER TOUR, the excitement surrounding Dierks Bentley continues to rise – and at this rate, it’s never coming down!

Album Review: Jon Pardi’s “Write You a Song”

Jon-Pardi-write-you-a-song-review

We’re sure he’s heard it before, but Jon Pardi has the perfect name for a country singer. His name may not be spelled the same as “party,” but it’s the perfect marketing tool. In fact, it’s unfortunate that the album title “My Kinda Party” was already taken by Jason Aldean because Pardi’s debut album is certainly “My Kind of Pardi.”

Pardi’s debut disc, Write You a Song, hits stores today and features the Top 25 hit “Missin’ You Crazy” and his current, chart-climbing single, “Up All Night.” It’s always the misfortune of the record buyer who purchases an entire album based on singles, only to find out that the single was the exception not the rule. This isn’t the case with Pardi whose first singles display the mood for the rest of the album.

If you’re looking for an album chock full of ballads and sweeping romantic orchestration, this isn’t the album for you. In fact it boasts only one true ballad out of the eleven tracks (ten of which Pardi co-wrote). We suspect the album’s lone ballad, “That Man,” will be a future single with its earnest yearning and ode to being a better man for the girl he loves.

When it comes to songs for a good time, Write You a Song is the perfect soundtrack for that tailgate, BBQ or day out on the lake. Even the songs about loneliness and missing someone, like “Love You From Here” and “Missin’ You Like Crazy,” are accompanied with up-tempo instrumentation that makes them seem much happier than the lyrics would suggest.

Highlights of the album include “Up All Night,” the aforementioned “That Man” and “Chasin’ Them Better Days.” The latter is an ode to an optimistic future as Pardi sings, “I’ve been waiting on sunshine, rolling with the hard times that come my way, chasin’ them better days.”

We suspect that Pardi’s debut album will endear him to those who love a good party anthem or ten of them. Watch out Florida Georgia Line and Luke Bryan, Jon Pardi is about to crash your party.

Jon Pardi Celebrating End of the World

jonpardi

Do you believe the Mayans prediction that 2012 will be the end of the world? Country music singer Jon Pardi is planning on finding out one way or the other by holding an “End Of The World Bash” on December 21st, 2012 at Joe’s Bar in Chicago – the predicted date to be the end of the world. He’s holding a rowdy party for what could be the very last party.

“Joe’s Bar is one of my favorite clubs to play and if the world really is going to end, I can’t think of a better place to spend what might be our last night on earth. But if we survive, we’ll party like there’s no tomorrow, all night long!” said Jon.

Jon recently hit the road with Eric Church on the “Blood, Sweat and Beers” tour at sold-out venues across the United States. He’ll be just as busy over the next few weeks as he opens up for everyone from Miranda Lambert to Tim McGraw, and even Josh Gracin.

Tim McGraw Charity Shootout Brings In Firepower

Tim McGraw.

Tim McGraw‘s charity shoot is bringing in all sorts of firepower. For the first time in the organization’s history, a “Tug McGraw Foundation Celebrity Clay Shoot” will be held on Tuesday, June 5th at the Nashville Gun Club. Proceeds from the event will go directly to the foundation to assist military service members who have been affected by Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

Artists attending the first annual clay shoot include Luke Bryan, Tim McGraw, Craig Campbell, Troy Gentry, J.T. Hodges, Eddie Montgomery, Jon Pardi, Josh Gracin, and Brad Warren. Additional special guests are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. The event will by hosted by Storme Warren.

Each team will makes its way through an award-winning 15-station sporting clay shoot at the Nashville Gun Club. Unlike trap or skeet shoots, clay shoots don’t have repeatable targets and are often unpredictable with live-quarry shooting. This shoot will feature 15 teams made up of 4 shooters, a professional, and a celebrity.
