Joey + Rory A Farmhouse Christmas Just In Time For Holidays

Joey + Rory.

Husband-and-wife country music duo Joey + Rory have been making the most of this year’s Christmas season. They’ve managed to take their “A Farmhouse Christmas” album into a multi-city tour, and have scored a television special for the holidays with “Country’s Family Reunion Presents Joey + Rory’s A Farmhouse Christmas.” The hour-long special 0riginally aired in November, but will be getting more airtime this weekend onon Country’s Family Reunion on RFD-tv. Catch the special December 23rd at 8 pm EST, and again on December 24th at 5 am and 11 am, both times in Eastern Standard Time.

“We fell in love with Joey and Rory when they were musical guests on ‘Larry’s Country Diner,’ and ‘Country’s Family Reunion’” said Larry Black, producer of both shows. “They are such a sweet couple – so engaging and so warm.  When they came up with the idea to do a television special surrounding their new Christmas album, I said, ‘if you can pull it off, we’ll do it.’  The show they came up with smacks of the old and resonates with the new.”

Taped in their spacious 1870′s farm house outside Nashville, Tennessee; the special captures the duo’s quirky personalities. Joey + Rory mixed songs from their “A Farmhouse Christmas” record and discuss their favorite holiday memories, favorite gifts, holiday cooking and baking, and more.

“It was decked out like a winter wonderland”, wife of the duo, Joey Martin added. “We’re thrilled at how it turned out, and we’re anxious for everyone to see it.  Funny thing is, we don’t even have a television, so we’ll have to go visit someone and catch it one these nights!” laughs Rory Feek.

The television special is sponsored by Roper Western Apparel and Footwear.

Award-winning husband-and-wife country music duo Joey + Rory will star in a Christmas special tomorrow night on RFD-TV’s “Country Family Reunion” tv show. Joey + Rory’s Christmas special “Country Family’s Reunion Presents Joey + Rory’s A Farmhouse Christmas” hour-long special airs at 7 pm CST on Friday, November 25th, 2011.

“We got to know Larry (Black) when we were guests on a couple of his shows earlier this year on RFD’” said Rory Feek. “We love what he’s done with county music and values on his programs, and we pitched him the idea of A Farmhouse Christmas. Larry’s an outside-the-box thinker, like we are, so I think it just made sense and sounded like fun to him. We’re thrilled at how it turned out, and we’re anxious for everyone to see it. Funny thing is, we don’t even have a tv, so we’ll have to go visit someone and catch it one these nights!”

Joey + Rory Take Home Vocal Duo Award

Joey + Rory.

Husband and wife duo Joey + Rory took home yet another award on the weekend at the ICM Faith, Family & Country award show. They were announced as the 2011 winners of the “Vocal Duo” award at the ceremony held in Nashville last week. They just stepped off the stage after performing “That’s What’s Important To Me” when they heard their names.

“Wow, we were not by any means expecting to win this award and are so appreciative,” said Joey, as they accepted the award. “I want to thank this man standing beside me, my husband, for going on this crazy journey with me. As a successful songwriter, he always remained in the background and this has been his biggest fear and worst nightmare to be on tv or in front of a bunch of people…”  Rory chimes in jokingly, “I kinda like it now.”  “God’s been mighty good to us and we have Him to thank for all the blessings everyday that we get to experience.”

The duo won the 2010 Academy of Country Music award for “Top New Vocal Duo” last year. They’ll be hitting the road in December to help promote their new Christmas album “A Farmhouse Christmas” with a tour that kicks off November 25th.

Headache. One word every man hates to hear – whether it’s used in truth or just in fun - is now the focal-point of a new song by award-winning duo Joey+Rory, and Sugar Hill/Vanguard Records will release the single to Country radio on August 29, 2011.Written by Joey+Rory with longtime friend and collaborator Wynn Varble, the infectious tune drives spikes in the best laid fishin’ – or other plans – of every good-hearted man.

“With this song, I think I’ve finally come up with the perfect solution for women to get their men to do some work around the house,” quipped Joey. “Since the day we wrote it, this song has been nothing but fun for Rory and I. We’ve been playing it out on the road for several months and the crowds have just loved it.”

Rory adds, “Like one of her heroes, Loretta Lynn, my wife likes calling it like it is. And this song definitely does just that. So does the video…it’s hilarious. Let’s just say, it doesn’t end well for me! Well, actually it does! Making the video was so much fun.  We can’t wait for people to see it and to hear the song.”

The single will be the first release from the duo’s forthcoming third album on Sugar Hill/Vanguard Records, due out after the first of next year. The fun, tongue-in-cheek music video for “Headache”, shot at Joey+Rory’s farm, began airing on GAC this week and features Joey and her friends line-dancing.
