One of country’s favorites, Jake Owen, stopped by The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to perform his number one smash hit, “Alone With You.”
The song is the second chart-topping single from his latest album, Barefoot Blue Jean Night. The lead off single, “Barefoot Blue Jean Night,” also hit the number one spot on the Billboard Country Chart last year.
Owen shared his excitement via Twitter along with a picture of him and Jay Leno:

Jake Owen Scores Another Number One Single
This week, Jake Owen holds the number one position on Billboard’s Hot Country songs chart with his single “Alone With You”. With his hit song “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” going number one on the charts just last September, Jake definitely has a lot to be happy about.
When asked to reflect on his current number one, Jake had this to say:
“When we started playing ‘Alone with You’ out on the Keith Urban tour last year, I realized that it was a song people really connected to. At the very end of the song, when I would sing, ‘But you kiss me when you’re drunk,’ people would literally laugh out loud. And I think it’s because they had been there, done that. Guys and girls could relate to it. So, when it came time to choose the follow-up single to ‘Barefoot Blue Jean Night,’ I just trusted my gut instinct and the overwhelming response from the people at our shows. I am so thankful to so many people right now.”

Jake Owen’s Alone With You Goes Gold!
Congratulations to Jake Owen tonight, as his single “Alone With You” has just been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America for selling over 500,000 digital downloads to date. The single also currently holds the number two spot on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart and number three on Country Aircheck. The music video for the song has nearly 2 million views on Vevo alone.
“Alone With You” is the second single off of Jake’s huge album “Barefoot Blue Jean Night.” His album was a number one debut on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.
“I’ve been out on the road touring non-stop for the past six years,” reflects Jake. “And my main goal has always been to try to connect with people. Now, it is just such a great feeling to know that ‘Alone with You’ and ‘Barefoot Blue Jean Night’ are songs that people are connecting to. In this day and time, I never take anything for granted. To have a gold single AND a platinum single from my album means the world to me and I’m so grateful.”
“Barefoot Blue Jean Night” was the first single off of the album, and is nearing 1.5 million digital downloads to date. It was also seen as the 2011 summer anthem for many country music fans. Jake has sold-out eleven shows so far in 2012, and he’s excited to be part of the Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw “Brothers of the Sun” tour this summer. The stadium tour kicks off June 2nd.
“I can’t wait to get out on the road with Kenny and Tim,” says Jake. “They are two of the coolest guys in this business. And, I think it’s so wild that the tour kicks off in my home-state of Florida. It is going to be an awesome summer!”

Blake Shelton Hosting 2nd Annual NRA Country Shoot
The Academy of Country Music’s Entertainer of the Year nominee Blake Shelton will once again be hosting the NRA Country / ACM Celebrity Shoot in Las Vegas before the ACM awards this year. The event takes place on Saturday, March 31st as part of The Week Vegas Goes Country. This year’s celebrity shoot is presented by SoundGear by LaPierre, and features a two-course 10-station 40 target sporting clay competition for 20 teams of 5 people. Each team will have a celebrity captain, and prizes will be awarded to the event’s top celebrity shooter and top team.
Celebrities joining the shoot this year include Lee Brice, Craig Campbell, Cowboy Troy, Ira Dean, Edens Edge, Jake Owen, Thomas Rhett, Outdoor Channel’s Lee and Tiffany Lakosky and Nick Mundt, TNA Impact wrestling stars Jeff Hardy and James Storm, plus more stars to be announced. The event will be emceed by Storme Warren of GAC’s Headline Country and will take place at the Desert Hills Shooting Club.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Wounded Warriors Project, The Folds Of Honor Foundation, and the Nellis Air Force Base Youth Programs.
“The Academy is thrilled to continue this partnership with Blake and NRA Country,” said Bob Romeo, Chief Executive Officer of the Academy of Country Music. “Many traditions and values are shared among the country music and outdoor enthusiast communities – today we get to have a little fun together while paying our respects to the men and women of our armed forces at the same time.”
The 47th annual Academy of Country Music awards will take place April 1st live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on CBS. Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton return for the second year in a row as co-hosts.

RCA recording artist Jake Owen was thrilled to perform on NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Valentine’s Day. In fact, before boarding the plane to NYC, Jake was telling everyone Happy “Fallontine’s” Day.
“Meeting Jimmy Fallon yesterday and performing on his show was such an awesome experience,” says Jake. “He is a true musician and music lover. Our dressing room had a piano and several instruments that we were all passing around before the show. Jake is also selling out shows in record time around the country. He has sold-out ten shows to date in 2012. His show at Joe’s Bar in Chicago sold-out in 10 minutes so a second show was added. The second show sold-out the first day it was on sale. Yesterday, his show in Ohio on March 17 sold-out in 18 minutes.
2012 started out a little rough for Jake. He had to reschedule a few shows in January after breaking his collarbone while he was snowboarding during the BMI Songwriters Festival in Crested Butte, CO, but it seems as though things are looking up.

Jake Owen Seeing Stars That Serve
A night out in Nashville had Jake Owen seeing stars and SEALS. In this case, they were one and the same.
The RCA recording artist attended the Act of Valor movie screening in Nashville last night. He wrote and recorded a song, “The Best I Can,” for the movie soundtrack and was anxious to see the film, which features active-duty Navy SEALS.
“Getting to hang out with the Navy SEALS last night was truly the biggest honor of my life,” says Jake. “Everyone should go see Act of Valor. The movie is so intense, but it’s real. It reminds you that every single day you should be very grateful to live in this country.”
On February 14, Jake travels to NYC to perform his Top-10 hit single, “Alone with You,” on NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, which airs at 12:30 a.m. ET.
By the way, the rest of the Act of Valor soundtrack is pretty much a country collaboration. Other performers on the album include Keith Urban, Sugarland, Lady Antebellum, Hunter Hayes, Trace Adkins, Josh Kelley and Wynonna.
Jake Owen Heading Back On The Road
RCA Nashville recording artist Jake Owen hit the road last weekend after surgery to fix a broken collarbone forced the singer to cancel some tour dates. He broke his collarbone in a snowboarding accident back in January. His first show back was in front of an almost sold-out crowd in Dallas, Texas and a completely sold-out crowd in Norman, Oklahoma.
“I’m thrilled to be back out on the road,” says Jake. “And to have a sold-out show our first weekend back is such an awesome feeling.”
It hasn’t been an easy few days for Jake, who isn’t used to sitting around for downtime. He’d rather be out doing something on the road, he explains:
“I’m not very good at sitting around the house taking it easy. I had eight screws and a metal plate put in to repair my collarbone, so I’ve had to spend a lot of time at doctor’s appointments and physical therapy sessions over the past few weeks. Getting back out on stage was the best therapy I’ve had.”
Jake will appear on Chelsea Lately on March 1st. The late-night talk show airs on E! at 11 pm EST.
“I can’t wait to meet Chelsea,” says Jake. “She’s fearless.”

Jake Owen Cancels Shows
After breaking his collarbone in a snowboarding accident in Colorado last week, Jake Owen has been forced to cancel his next three shows. After telling fans on Twitter that he would play the concerts no matter what, that nothing was going to stop him, he had to come back and deliver the bad news.
@jakeowen: I guess I spoke too soon.. So sorry to my friends and fans. I’m going in for surgery tomorrow morning. My shows will be postponed. :(

Jake’s show tomorrow and Thursday at Joe’s Bar in Chicago have been postponed until April 18th and 19th. Both dates are completely sold out, and tickets for the dates this week will be honored at the new dates. Tickets for tomorrow’s date will be able to be used on the April 18th date, and Thursday’s tickets can be used for April 19th. We hope Jake recovers quickly!
Country Ballads Compliation Album To Be Released Jan 24th
The world’s best-selling, multi-artist album series “NOW! That’s What I Call Music” will be trying their chances with a country music album on January 24th. They’ve put together some of country music’s biggest ballads of the last few years on a compilation album titled “NOW! That’s What I Call Country Ballads” just in time for Valentine’s Day. The album will be released both digitally and physically in stores wherever music is sold.
Some of the stars featured on the album include Taylor Swift, Martina McBride, Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellum, and Jason Aldean with Kelly Clarkson.
