Oklahoma’s Own Adley Stump Lends Her Vocals to Aid Her Home State

adley-stump-voice

In response to the recent tornadoes in Oklahoma, Oklahoma vocalist, Adley Stump from Season 2 of NBC’s “The Voice” is working with fellow native Oklahomans and Nashville songwriters to bring more attention and support for the recent tornado victims.

Without hesitation, Adley rushed into the studio to record a song that will be released May 24th to iTunes, as well as to many radio and television stations. All proceeds from the song will be donated to the Red Cross to be used to help the Oklahoma tornado victims.

“I immediately tried to figure out how I could help,” Adley says. “I think in this situation everyone just tries to figure out what they have that they can give. What I have is music, and here in Nashville there is nothing we know more than the power of a song. So when a friend from home e-mailed the song asking if I’d sing it, I knew immediately that’s how I could help. The song was perfect; I knew immediately I wanted to get in the studio with it. I hope it brings true comfort and healing for the hearts of those affected.”

Adley also intends to pull together a benefit concert in Oklahoma with other fellow Oklahoman musicians with the proceeds dedicated to the relief effort in Oklahoma. Information on this relief concert is being developed and further details will be released in the near future.

As soon as Adley agreed to sing, the Bennett family of First Oklahoma Bank provided the funds to make the project possible. The song is called “Weather the Storm” and was written by hit songwriters Bernie Nelson, Will Champlin and Adriene Smith Garrison and produced by hit songwriter/producers Philip Douglas and Greg Bieck.

Make sure to keep an eye on iTunes tomorrow so you can download Adley’s new song while helping those in need as a result of the horrific tornadoes that swept through Oklahoma. And stay tuned to Keepin’ It Country (and our social media pages) for further information on the benefit concert being planned by our friend, Adley, in support of her home state.

One of our favorite country groups, Lady Antebellum, released their new single, “Downtown,” today.

“Downtown” serves as the lead single for the trio’s upcoming fourth album, and is now available for download on iTunes.

Lady A’s Hillary Scott had this to share about the new song:

“There’s some sass to this track that makes it really fun to sing…it’s definitely a roll down the windows and bob your head kind of thing. We thought it was a fun way to launch the next record and a fitting preview of what’s to come!”

Off You Should Go … to iTunes

Off I Go Cover

You know when you hear a song and you just know it has “it”? That song that you can’t wait to hear on the radio while you are driving with the windows down so other cars can hear it? The song you sing at the top of your lungs? Well, remember that Cherie Oakley single, “Off I Go,” we teased last week? Well, it is now available on iTunes, and it is just that kind of song!

“Off I Go” has a Laura Bell Bundy “Shakin’” fun beat with some serious Miranda Lambert attitude. Add these things together with Cherie’s unparalleled vocals, and it certainly has all the components to be a huge hit!

While I would love to stay here and go on and on about how fantastic this new single is, I have one thing to say — “hell no, off I go!” I have a song to listen to on repeat!

What are you waiting for? Head over to iTunes and download “Off I Go”! Let us know what you think of Cherie’s song by leaving us a comment here or contacting us on Twitter @keepinitblog.

Jason Aldean Releases New Single to iTunes Today

Jason Aldean Take A Little Ride
Today is the day that Jason Aldean fans have been waiting for! If you’ve worn out your copy of My Kinda Party like we have, there’s no doubt you’ve been itching for new music from Jason. On the heels of five consecutive lead singles, Jason’s new track “Take A Little Ride” hits iTunes today and will be available in Walmart stores on August 7.

The track was written by Dylan Altman, Rodney Clawson and Jim McCormick. It’s typical Aldean with a distinct electric sound, perfect for a summer night tailgate or BBQ.

“Everyone has been asking if the new album is going to be different from the ‘My Kinda Party’ album,” said Aldean. “I tried to find the best songs that I could and also ones that fit what I do in my live show. There’s a little bit of everything, including some more traditional country stuff and some songs that might raise a few eyebrows. I thought this would be a great lead single to come with after ‘Fly Over States’…it’s about grabbing your girl and getting lost in the country. Sounds like a pretty good Friday night to me!”

She may be on the Gang of Outlaws Tour with ZZ Top & 3 Doors Down, but NRA Country Artist of the month, Gretchen Wilson, still has her roots firmly planted in country music. Her new single “One Good Friend” hit iTunes today and will be sent to radio soon.

The single was written by Bekka Bramlett, Billy Burnette and Dennis Morgan, and produced by Gretchen and Blake Chancey. Chancey co-produced her last CD, I Got Your Country Right Here, which yielded the Grammy-nominated “I’d Love To Be Your Last.”

The single was love at first listen for Gretchen. “The first time I heard this song it blew me away. “The lyric hit me really hard, and fans at the ZZ Top shows are telling me it’s doing the same thing to them.”

Although she may seem a bit of an outcast on her current tour, Gretchen has nothing but raves about her current gig. “It’s been a blast out there,” she added. “People are coming up to me and saying, ‘I’ve never heard of you, but I’m buying all of your music!’ This has been a great opportunity to get out and hit a totally new audience.”

The tour will run through the end of June, and fans of Gretchen can purchase an exclusive VIP package that includes an exclusive meet & greet with Gretchen on her tour bus, a VIP-Only Laminate, a guaranteed ticket in one of the first 15 rows of the concert, one-of-a-kind Gretchen Wilson Box Set, personal photo taken with Gretchen, and an autographed copy of her critically acclaimed I Got Your Country Right Here album. Dierks Bentley Premieres New Music Video Today

Dierks

If you’ve been anxiously awaiting a new music video from Dierks Bentley like we have, today is your lucky day. The country crooner has released the video for his current single “5-1-5-0” to iTunes today. The video release comes on the heels of the song jumping from #17 to #11 on the charts.

The video was shot in April in Savannah, Georgia under the direction of Wes Edwards. The shoot involved Bentley’s band and local fans getting muddy at the Big Nasty ATV/Motorcross Park. “I have never had so much fun…or gotten so dirty…at a video shoot,” said Bentley. “It’s hard to call it ‘work’ when you get to drive trucks and four wheelers through the mud all day.  The fans who came out to this shoot were ready to get 5-1-5-0, so we basically just pulled up a bunch of trucks, threw some gear in the back, turned up the speakers and then let them do their thing.   It was pretty wild!”

During this performance, Bentley unveils his brand new signature HD Dierks Bentley Custom Signature Artist Edition Martin guitar. This guitar can be purchased at Martin retail partners for fall delivery.
