On Wednesday, May 8, a small group of Lady Antebellum fans were treated to a special performance by the band in New York City. The show took place at the iHeartRadio Theater presented by P.C. Richard & Son to celebrate the release of Lady A’s new album, Golden. The trio performed tracks from the new album, including “Downtown,” “Goodbye Town” and “Golden” as well as fan faves such as “Need You Now” and “Owned the Night.” They also performed a stellar cover of Bruno Mars’s recent hit, “Locked Out of Heaven.”

Carrie Underwood performed a private iHeartRadio show in New York City last night to celebrate the release of her new album, Blown Away, which was released yesterday, May 1st. Blown Away is currently the top selling album on iTunes.

Carrie’s first single from Blown Away, “Good Girl” has been certified gold by the RIAA for selling 500,000 digital downloads and is currently sitting at number 8 on the Top 10 Billboard Country Songs Chart.

REVIEW: Dierks Bentley Makes A Pit Stop in NYC for IHeartRadio

The whirling dervish that is the Dierks Bentley promo tour for his new album Home made a quick pit stop in NYC yesterday for some lucky IHeartRadio contest winners. Dierks played a full show on Wednesday at the Bowery Ballroom but Monday night’s 10 song, 45 minute set was a nice appetizer. The tiny P.C. Richards Theater on the ground floor of the Clear Channel building was packed with lots of Dierks’ faithful fans – and they were not disappointed. Calling NYC the pulse of this country and bantering about talking country music with a man from Kentucky over breakfast in the Big Apple, Dierks Bentley knows that NYC knows country music! The showcase highlighted some of the new tracks including 5-1-5-0, a Van Halen inspired track, the title track Home, and When You Gonna Come Around featuring Karen Fairchild from Little Big Town which is a sweet, romantic, country ballad. Mrs. Fairchild was not in attendance last night but the song held up just fine as a solo number too. The fan favorites were peppered in as well. The audience was participating for Feel the Fire and What Was I Thinking. But when Dierks came down off the stage and into the crowd for Sideways the fan love soared! My personal favorite of the night was Up On The Ridge, the title track from Dierks’ previous album. It may have been because Brooklyn’s own Punch Brothers played on the album track or it may have been because it is an awesome song. But any which way you cut it last night made me proud to be from NYCountry.

Kenny Chesney’s iheartradio Music Festival Performance

Kenny Chesney was one of the many superstar country acts that were part of the iheartadio Music Festival in Las Vegas last weekend. The king of touring wrapped up his “Goin’ Coastal” tour this Summer, which remains one of the biggest tours of 2011, but this was the first tour date this year that he shared the spotlight with Lady Gaga, Jay-Z and Kelly Clarkson. Rascal Flatts Perform With Natasha Bedingfield At iheartradio Festival

Rascal Flatts surprised fans at the iheartmusic festival in Las Vegas on the weekend by bringing out British pop singer Natasha Bedingfield for a live version of their hit duet “Easy.” Billboard had an exclusive red carpet interview with the boys and Natasha at the iheartmusic Festival before they hit the stage. Rascal Flatts will enjoy some downtime for the first time in a while, before releasing a brand-new studio album next April and embarking on another Summer-long tour. Expect another new single from Rascal Flatts soon, who are to become the newest members of the Grand Ole Opry in October.

Country Stars Perform At iHeartRadio Music Festival

The iHeartRadio Music Festival, which has been dubbed as the biggest concert in radio history, took place this past weekend at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Hosted by Ryan Seacrest with appearances by WHTZ Z100/New York’s Elvin Duran, the extraordinary 2-day event spanned all genres of music with performances and appearances from some of today’s biggest and best stars. Music sensations Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney, and Carrie Underwood took the stage to represent country music and perform some of their hits. Other mega-talents on hand at the event included Kelly Clarkson, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, the Black Eyed Peas, Cold Play, and many more.

Judging from the response in the media and online, the event did not disappoint and fans everywhere are hoping that iHeartRadio turns the festival into an annual celebration of music.
