In less than two weeks since Hunter Hayes released his new music video for “Wanted” to GAC, he’s already taken over the charts. The music video has already taken the number one spot on the fan voted Top 20 Countdown, and in the same week, already broke into Billboard’s top 40 chart.

As if that wasn’t enough already, Hunter was invited back on-stage at the Grand Ole Opry for an encore by Little Jimmy Dickens.

“I don’t know what else to say but THANK YOU, to my fans, for voting me into GAC’s Top 20 Countdown, and to be #1, I am so excited,” said Hunter.  “To top off the night I got to see you all in person, screaming and singing along to every single word at the OPRY! You guys are absolutely the best!”

Hunter is currently out on his “Most Wanted” tour. His next stop is tonight at The Brick in Minneapolis, MN, and tomorrow night at The Rave in Milwaukee, WI.

Scotty McCreery To Perform New Single This Thursday On American Idol

Scotty McCreery.

Scotty McCreery returns to American Idol this Thursday, March 29, to perform his new single, “Water Tower Town.”  The single will be released to country radio stations on Thursday as well.

Scotty, who won Season 10 of American Idol, recently recorded “Please Remember Me” as the “goodbye song” for Idol’s Season 11.  The song is played after a contestant is eliminated and video highlights of the contestant’s experiences on Idol are shown.  But this will be Scotty’s first appearance on American Idol since winning the competition in May.  Naturally, he’s thrilled about the reunion with his American Idol family.

That was my launching pad and what gave me my platform to do what I am doing now,” he says. “I am looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and spending some one-on-one time with the contestants. I can’t wait to give them some advice and the ins-and-outs of the competition that I learned last season.”

The homecoming will be even more special with the performance of “Water Tower Town” because the song reflects his life in Garner, N.C.

Little Big Town To Sing Hunter Hayes Song at ACMs

acm

Country music group Little Big Town are teaming up with the Academy of Country Music’s Lifting Lives to help raise awareness of childhood hunger in the United States. They will perform “Here’s Hope,” an original song co-written by ACM New Artist of the Year nominee Hunter Hayes, during the 47th annual ACM Awards broadcast on April 1st. The performance is sponsored by ConAgra Foods’ Child Hunger Ends Here Campaign, with Hunter introducing the special musical moment. Little Big Town will be joined by the Clark Country Children’s Choir for the powerful performance.

“When I first learned about ACM Lifting Lives a few years ago, I immediately asked to be a part of this amazing organization,” said Kimberly Schlapman of Little Big Town.  “Lifting Lives seeks out needs and takes care of people. They work hard at giving both children and adults comfort, contentment and happiness. We are so honored and excited to be a part of the very special Lifting Lives moment to end child hunger on the ACM Awards.  We can’t wait!”

After Hunter found out that one in five children in America don’t know where they will get their next meal, he teamed up with songwriters Luke Laird and Barry Dean to pen “Here’s Hope.” They wrote the song hoping to inspire music fans to help fight childhood hunger in the United States.

“What I didn’t realize – and what most people may not know – is that child hunger is not a faraway problem; it’s a problem right here in our own backyards,” said Hunter. “The good news though is that this is a problem we can all help solve together. My hope is that through music, we can inspire people to get involved and finally put an end to child hunger in our country.”

Hunter has been dedicated and to his partnership with ConAgra Foods to help fight childhood hunger in the United States through the ConAgra Foods Child Hunger Ends Here campaign that has lead to a donation of up to five million meals this year. Fans can join his passion by purchasing specially-marked select ConAgra brands like Chef Boyardee, Banquet, Healthy Choice, Hunt’s, Marie Callender’s, Manwich, Orville Redenbacher’s, Peter Pan and Snack Pack, then visiting ChildHungerEndsHere.com to enter the eight-digit code found on the select packaging. For every code entered through to August 2012, ConAgra Foods will donate the equivalent of one meal to Feeding America. In return for entering the code and supporting the campaign, fans will be able to download their favorite version of “Here’s Hope” including versions from Jewel, Owl City, and Jay Sean.

This year’s ACM Lifting Lives show moment with Little Big Town marks the fourth consecutive year of moving performances for various causes.

VIDEO: Hunter Hayes Has Cute….

Hunter Hayes.

Hunter Hayes isn’t afraid of pulling out some secret weapons to ask for votes for the 47th annual Academy of Country Music Awards. He’s up for New Artist of the Year, which is a fan-voted award, and votes can be placed now at voteacm.com.

Taylor Swift may have used one kitten, but what’s better than just one cute kitty cat? Multiple!

Sometimes, squirrels just need love too:

The 47th annual ACM Awards air live on April 1st on CBS from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Blake Shelton and Reba McEntire return for the second year to co-host the telecast. See if Hunter’s kittens are enough to secure him the award!

Will Cat Napping Catch Taylor Swift Some ACM Votes?

taylor swift

When it comes to having your dreams come true, Taylor Swift holds the title.  Heck, maybe winning that title is even something she dreamed about.  Now it appears the dreams-to-reality thing is being passed to her pet!

Well, not really.  But Taylor is having a bit of fun with it.  The superstar is using Meredith, her cute little kitten, to help get the word out about fan voting for the Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year, for which she is nominated.  Earlier she posted a video in which she explained the voting to Meredith and now she’s posted the below pic in which it appears the feline is dreaming of more trophies for Taylor:

Hunter Hayes Wants You

I knew there was something special about Hunter Hayes from the moment I spoke to him last year over the phone. The rising star is up for the Academy of Country Music’s New Artist of The Year award, which is decided by both fan and industry votes at voteacm.com. With the campaign starting today, the ACMs are giving fans the chance to decide the most deserving of the award at this year’s award show.

Hunter released a brand-new lyric video to his new single “Wanted” to help celebrate his nomination for the ACM awards. Fans can see the new video on his new splash page asking fans to vote for him at hunterhayes.com/vote.

He certainly has the background to be one of country music’s brightest stars. The multi-talented artist performed with Hank Williams Jr. in front of a crowd of 200,000 people – when he was just four years old. He’s also performed with Johnny Cash, June Carter and Charlie Daniels at a BBQ. Hunter has been experimenting with instruments since he was six years old:

“I’ve never had the patience to sit down and learn from anyone. So with the guitar, and with every subsequent instrument and piece of studio equipment, it’s been a process of experimentation – pressing every button I can.”

While he might not be an American Idol, Hunter has a talent that is so rare in today’s music industry. He experimented with every instrument on the album, wanting to record something that was 100 percent who he is as an artist and person. Every note you hear on his debut album was written, recorded, and played by Hunter himself. That’s something you don’t hear often in the music industry, no matter what the genre.

Fan voting is open now at voteacm.com. The winner of the New Artist of the Year will be announced during the telecast of the 47th annual Academy of Country Music Awards. They air live on CBS on April 1st at 8 pm EST from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
