The nominees were just announced earlier this morning for this year’s American Country Awards. The third edition of the fan-voted award show will once again air live on FOX from Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. While the co-hosts remain the same with Trace Adkins and Kristin Chenoweth, there is something new about the award show – the addition of the “Song Of The Year” category which will honor country music’s top songwriters of 2012. The nominees for Song of the Year are determined by the National Songwriters Association International (NSAI). The award show will air live on December 10th on FOX at 8 pm EST.
Artists leading all nominees this year are Luke Bryan with seven, and Lady Antebellum tying for second with Zac Brown Band with six nominations each. Eric Church and Taylor Swift both have five nominations each. Check out the full list of nominees below and let us know who you’ll be voting for. Hunter Hayes is offering fans the chance to download his popular “Light Me Up” through a partnership with Country Financial. The song, which was previously unavailable until now, became popular on tour when he performed it for his fans. Fans who “like” Hunter’s official Facebook page will be entered to win the chance for a VIP concert experience with the young star. To download the track, visit the Trips and Picks Facebook page here. Fans are asked to share the track after the free stream with their friends, then they’ll be able to download “Light Me Up.”

Country music’s young prodigy in Hunter Hayes is gearing up for another single release to radio. The singer-songwriter will be sending out “Somebody’s Heartbreak” as the follow up to his number one single “Wanted” on October 9th. The single is a co-write by Hunter with Luke Laird and Andrew Dorff. Congratulations to Atlantic Records artist Hunter Hayes! The young singer-songwriter has been inducted into the Louisana Hall of Fame during a ceremony on September 7th. The Beaux Bridge native has become the youngest inductee ever into the Louisana Hall of Fame. He was surprised with the plaque at his Oschner Pediatrics benefit concert by the president of the Louisiana Hall of Fame, Mike Shepherd, and Cajun artist Jo-El Sonier. It was an early birthday gift for the Academy of Country Music’s New Artist of the Year nominee, who is turning 21. Jo-El led the crowd in Happy Birthday for Hunter during the presentation.
Hunter will officially be celebrating his 21st birthday when he performs the national anthem at the New Orleans Saints’ game against the Washington Redskins on Saturday.

Canada’s own Kira Isabella joins superstar Carrie Underwood as a support act for the Canadian dates on “The Blown Away Tour” this fall. The burgeoning songstress hits several cities opening for Underwood, including Calgary, Vancouver and Kira’s hometown of Ottawa. Hunter Hayes is also support on the tour. Just in time for the tour, Kira announced today her debut album will be in stores October 2, 2012. Titled for her first 2011 single, “Love Me Like That” also features Kira’s previously released track, “A Real Good Radio” and current single that’s racing up the country charts, “A Little More Work.”
Racking up accomplishments before even releasing her debut album, Kira is nominated for the 2012 CCMA Rising Star Award. Catch her perform live on the awards broadcast on September 9. Kira Isabella is Canada’s brightest young country music star. At just 18 years old she took home the “Country” award at the 2012 Canadian Radio Music Awards and has appeared at major Canadian country music festivals this past summer, including Boots and Hearts and Big Valley Jamboree.

Warner Music Nashville’s Hunter Hayes has had one heck of a year. The young singer-songwriter found out this morning that he was nominated for his first-ever Country Music Association award for New Artist of the Year. The “Storm Warning” singer was pleasantly surprised over the nomination.
“What an honor it is to be recognized by the country music family that I’ve always wanted to be a part of. I am absolutely over the top excited to be nominated for CMA’s New Artist of the Year! My first CMA nomination. So grateful. So excited. Thank you!!”
Hunter has one nomination going into the CMA Awards this November. His latest single “Wanted” is out on country radio right now.
Little Big Town‘s “Pontoon,” a playful ode to mmmmmotorboating, has certainly been the undeniable country hit of the summer. With its infectious hook, cheery beat and playful lyrics, the song certainly has a ton of appeal…including with celebs! Warner Music Nashville’s Hunter Hayes teamed up with The Flaming Lips on June 28th at the O Music Awards for a performance with a purpose. The Flaming Lips were trying to break a Guiness World Record by having the “Most Live Concerts In 24 Hours (Multiple Cities)” title. Their Benny’s Boom Room performance in Haittesburg, MS was successful in their attempt, and Hunter opened the show for the band.
In other Hunter news, he was given a gold certification by the RIAA for selling more than 500,000 digital copies of his hit single “Wanted” from his debut self-titled album. It’s the first certification in his career. He’s currently out on his “Most Wanted” tour which is selling out venues in both Canada and the United States. He’ll be hitting the road with Carrie Underwood on her “Blown Away” tour later this year.
Payton Rae may only be 16-years-old, but the Internet phenom showed her star power in Nashville during CMA Music Fest last week. She wowed fans at the Hard Rock Cafe Stage, with both her voice and her fashion choice. Rae rocked a pair of pink Betsey Johnson dresses to show off her self-proclaimed “passion for fashion!”
In addition to wow-ing crowds, Payton was wowed by some of the performances she got to see. “All of the performances I saw this week were over the top amazing,” said Payton. “If I had to pick my favorites, I would have to say Carrie Underwood’s ‘Good Girl’ performance at the 2012 CMT Music Awards and Hunter Hayes’ show at LP Field.”
While Payton was setting the stage ablaze in Nashville, her new single, “Stomp The Fire Out,” hit country radio and all of the major video channels, including The Country Network (TCN), GACtv.com and AOL. The CMA highlighted Payton Rae on their blog, noting that the 16-yr old “Generation YouTube” Internet star “draws the next generation of @CountryMusic enthusiasts.” Payton is already a huge star on social media, with over 140,000 Twitter followers, 68,000 Facebook fans and over 6.6 million YouTube channel views in less than two years.
While her single climbs the country charts, Payton Rae is preparing to hit the road on the 2012 Camplified Tour, beginning in July. The tour, which is in its 11th year, showcases emerging teen stars by bringing them to over 50 camps and putting them before over 50,000 campers between the ages of 6 and 17.

Hunter Hayes will hit Nashville next week during CMA Music Festival for several appearances and live performances. Hunter will kick off the week on Wednesday, June 6th at the 2012 CMT Music Awards. On Thursday, June 7th at 11 am, Hunter will sign for fans at The Warner Sound booth inside the Nashville Convention Center. Following the signing, Hunter and his band will perform at 6PM at Downtown Nashville’s aVenue. Hunter has billed his nearly two-hour set list “Music City’s Most Wanted.”
On Saturday June 9th, Hunter will share the stage with country music stars Eric Church, Luke Bryan, and Faith Hill. To wrap up his week in Nashville, Sunday, June 10, Hunter will make a stop at the Martin Guitar tent on Broadway at 1:30PM. He will then head to a sold out “Coffee Break Experience” with fans later that afternoon.

Hunter will be featured in the upcoming new episode of CMT Crossroads: Joe Walsh and Friends, starring Joe Walsh from The Eagles, accompanied by Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, Sara Evans, Luke Bryan and Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top. The artists will perform Walsh’s hits and Eagle’s classics. The show premieres on Saturday, June 23rd at 11 PM ET.
