Bucky Covington Honored at 51st Annual IAFF Convention

Bucky Covington was recently honored at the 51^st Annual International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Convention in Philadelphia, PA with a personalized fire fighter helmet. The gift came as a surprise to Covington as a thank you for his passionate work with the organization’s Charitable Foundation. Over the last year, Bucky has worked with Help The Good Guys and the IAFF Charitable Foundation to provide financial relief to injured fire fighters, hosting benefit events, visiting burn centers and burn camps and making donations from his music and merchandise sales.

On August 11th, he will appear at the Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville, TN during the Legends Car Race. There, he will drive a custom-made Legends Racecar to benefit Help The Good Guys and the Nashville Local 140 Fire Fighter’s Relief Fund. Following the race, he’ll perform a concert all to benefit our country’s brave fire fighters.

Additionally, Bucky will be releasing his sophomore album, aptly entitled Good Guys, on September 11th. A portion of the proceeds from his first week sales will benefit the IAFF Charitable Foundation.

Bucky Covington has joined forces with charitable organization Help The Good Guys to honor and support our country’s injured fire fighters, police officers and their families. The former American Idol finalist is partnering with the organization, which works to raise awareness and funds for the more than 130,000 fire fighters and law enforcement officers who experience a financial crisis due to work-related injuries each year.

“’Help The Good Guys’ perform an amazing service for our police officers and fire fighters across the country and I’m honored to join them in their efforts,” shares Bucky. “It’s rewarding for me to recognize these hard-working men and women and help bring some financial relief to these families in their time of need.”

In addition to raising awareness for the cause, Bucky recently lent his talents to fundraising events in Birmingham, AL (see below pic) and Detroit, MI to support injured heroes in their local community. Coming up on April 21, Bucky will host a motorcycle ride and concert in Chattanooga, TN to benefit injured fire fighters and police officers in the city.

Bucky signed a record deal with Entertainment One Music Group/Nashville in 2011 and will be releasing a new album this year, his first new music in five years.
