GAC Booth Announces Schedule For CMA Fest Autograph Sessions

We’re getting closer and closer to this year’s CMA Music Festival and GAC has just announced who will be signing at their booth this year! Check out who you can have a chance to meet below.

Thursday, June 7:

• 10-11 a.m. – JT Hodges, Colt Ford
• 12-1 p.m. – Katie Armiger, Gwen Sebastian
• 2-3 p.m. – Craig Campbell, Jerrod Niemann
• 4-5 p.m. – Bryan White

Friday, June 8:

Please remember that autograph guidelines have changed for this year’s CMA Fest. Here is a highlight of how the new procedure works:

Fans will now enter a random drawing for the opportunity to meet various artists appearing in the Fan Fair Exhibit Hall. You will be able to enter the drawing at CMAfest.com. between May 14 (starting at 10:00 AM/CT) and May 28 (ending at 5:00 PM/CT). You will enter in your contact information and then select from the list of participating artists singing autographs in the Hall. You may select as many or as few artists as you’d like to meet. Once you submit your entry, you will not be allowed to go back in and change it so choose carefully! Duplicate entries will not be considered and all winners will be notified by Friday, June 1 via email.

CMA will also have a limited number of tickets on-site at the Festival for those who can’t get to a computer to register ahead of time. For more information on this, please see the Fan Fair Hall page at CMAfest.com.

Not every artist participating in the Fan Fair Hall will be part of the autograph drawing. There will be many opportunities for patrons to obtain multiple autographs from artists by just walking around the Fan Fair Hall. So don’t lose hope if you don’t get picked!

Soft-Hearted “Hot Shot” DJ Miller Stages Special Show

How do you make a good week a great week? Share your success with others. Case in point: DJ Miller.

The up-and-coming country singer made the rounds at the Country Radio Seminar last week in Nashville. He had plenty to talk about, thanks to his single “Between Sundays,” which entered the Billboard country chart as a “Hot Shot Debut” at #58. In addition, March is shaping up to be “magazine month” for Miller. For March, he’s featured on the cover of Powersource Magazine and the “Debut Spotlight” in CMA Closeup Magazine.

Miller celebrated his success by performing for some very special fans. Thursday night, he took a break from CRS to entertain at the Ronald McDonald House of Nashville, which provides a “home away from home” for families caring for critically ill children in Nashville area hospitals. Miller performed his “Between Sundays,” and played acoustic versions of “The Dance” and “Wagon Wheel.” After the performance, Miller signed autographs, posed for photos and even gave an impromptu guitar lesson to a young fan. While Miller is doing good things in real-life, his video for “Between Sundays” is doing good things over the airwaves. Directed by Eric Welch, who has worked with Chris LeDoux and Heidi Newfield, it debuted at #6 on CMT Pure’s Top 12 Countdown. The single was also #1 on Powersource Magazine’s Inspirational Country Music Chart for the month of December. The independent artist has been on an extensive radio tour for the last year, visiting 48 states and more than 250 radio stations across the country. Danielle Peck and Friends Online Charity Auction (Ends 12/22)

In this season of giving, Danielle Peck and some of her fellow country music stars are doing their part to help the homeless. Last month, Peck held her 4th Annual “Danielle Peck and Friends Concert” which supports the Nashville-based Safe Haven Family Shelter. She’s now following it up with an online auction featuring an awesome assortment of autographs, guitars and other collectables.

We’re making this posting with a little bit more than a day to go before the auction ends (8pm Central Time on 12/22). That still leaves you with plenty of time to get your bids in. For example, at the time of this writing, there is a Kenny Chesney package featuring items from his 2009 Sun City Carnival tour (including two t-shirts and an autographed picture) that had a high bid of only $9! Now that would make a fine (and cheap) Christmas gift!

Along with the country music items, the auction also offers many sports-related items.

Again, this online auction is to support homeless families as they receive the necessary tools to return into a home of their own with stable employment and secured housing. Safe Haven Family Shelter is the only shelter-to-housing program of its kind in Middle Tennessee that accepts the entire homeless family.

Heidi Newfield and Bridgette Tatum officially launch the She’s Country Tour

On Monday night, October 24th at Nashville’s 12th & Porter, Bridgette Tatum and Heidi Newfield officially launched their unique all-female tour,called the She’s Country Tour. They along with special guests played to a packed out crowd who had “She’s Country” cocktails, appropriately made with Pendleton Whisky – the sponsor of the She’s Country Tour.

Bridgette played three songs that included “Loud,” which was the 2010 theme song for the ACC Football season. When she introduced Heidi Newfield, Heidi started off with a harmonica solo and played her hits including, “Johnny and June,” “Pour Me,” and several new songs. After her seven song set, Bridgette rejoined her and the two sang “She’s Country,” which was a number one hit for Jason Aldean and written by Tatum and Danny Myrick.

She’s Country Tour with Heidi Newfield and Bridgette Tatum

Heidi Newfield has made a name for herself as a solo act with songs like ‘Johnny and June,’ after having left the group, Trick Pony. Bridgette Tatum is an amazing artist in her own right, most known for the songs that she has written. The most common one being Jason Aldean’s ‘She’s Country.’ Well, these two singer/songwriters are taking that song and going on tour. The She’s Country Tour, sponsored by Pendleton Whiskey kicks off November 2nd in Little Rock, Arkansas. Dates and more after the jump.

Heidi Newfield had this to say about the tour and Brigette,

“I have partnered up with a few good friends, Pendleton Whisky, and my crazy talented girl, Miss Bridgette Tatum. Together we’re throwing a party in your town. We want every one of our club tour shows to be overflowing with people who are rowdy, whiskey drinking, country music lovin’, not scared to have a damn good time kind of people. We want to show you that SHE’S COUNTRY and ‘SHE’ can rock the house as hard as any dude out there!”

BREAKING: Heidi Newfield Files For Divorce

The former lead singer of Trick Pony has officially filed for divorce, a post on her official website states. Heidi Newfield, known for her solo hit single “Johnny And June” will be separating from her husband of seven years, CountryWeekly.com is reporting this morning. The pair were married June 4th, 2004. They have no children together.

From Heidi’s official statement posted on her website blog:

“I never thought I’d be sitting here on the road, writing out my thoughts and comments regarding the end of my marriage. It is a very difficult and strange place to be. Obviously, I thought I was entering into a life-long partnership with my best friend, that we would celebrate the good times and work to make it through whatever tough times we may face in our future.”

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM HEIDI NEWFIELD:

I never thought I’d be sitting here on the road, writing out my thoughts and comments regarding the end of my marriage. It is a very difficult and strange place to be. Obviously, I thought I was entering into a life-long partnership with my best friend, that we would celebrate the good times and work to make it through whatever tough times we may face in our future.

Sadly, from the beginning, our marriage was never quite what it seemed on the surface. We always looked good on paper. The successful country songstress, who came from nothin’ but horse rich and cash poor….to making my way in this business and building solid work relationships and dear friends, to the successful sports agent who is gregarious, good looking, and fun. It seemed to make sense. I waited to give my heart away…knowing I wanted to be a mother and a good wife. His timing was different …and I tried. I can look myself in the mirror, put my hand on a Bible, or even talk to our Mothers up in heaven…and feel like I really tried. I gave it my best. Now, my best is best served by being true to myself. I still believe in love and I still want to believe in what marriage stands for…

I ask for the understanding, patience, and kindness from my fans and friends out there….as we go through this difficult time. Please allow us to heal…

This journey I am on is FAR from over…and through these ups and downs, I strive to learn be a better person, a better friend, and a better artist. They say the best songs come out of heart break. Well….if that’s true. My best is damn sure yet to come.

This will not be one of those divorces where it becomes a reality show…neither on TV or here in print. Just because he is a good man, doesn’t make him a good partner. Things look a certain way in public….but behind closed doors, one can never tell or judge, and all I can say to that is, EVERYONE deserves to be loved and appreciated.

I will not publicly place blame for the demise of our marriage. That is never fair, nor does the real truth come from it. I choose to simply say…I am sad, I’ve been sad, I’m tired of feeling sad and it’s time to move to the light. I wish happiness for both of us.

Music, writing, my co-writers, and the fans who invest the time to listen and enjoy the shows….you help heal my broken soul. So, thank you. You haven’t even realized how much you’ve been saving me.

Girls With Guitars Concert Lineup Announced!

Radio station 93.1 WPOC in Baltimore has announced a very special lineup for a special cause. The “Girls With Guitars Concert” will benefit the Maryland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen For The Cure, and features an amazing list of stars including Gretchen Wilson, Martina McBride, Sunny Sweeney, Eden’s Edge, Heidi Newfield, and Ashley Gearing. The charity concert will take place on Sunday, October 23rd at the Hippodrome Theater in Baltimore, MD.
