Gwen Sebastian Invited Back to Opry Stage

Headshot - Gwen Sebastian

Flying Island’s Gwen Sebastian has been invited back to the Grand Ole Opry stage and she’s super excited about it! Gwen will make her second appearance on Friday, September 21. She made her debut appearance in June.

“As a country singer, being asked to sing at the Grand Ole Opry is a dream come trust and now being asked to come back is completely humbling and I’m absolutely honored to do it,” Sebastian gushed.

Her current single, “Met Him in a Motel Room” is climbing the charts while generating fans from radio and consumers from coast to coast.

Gwen Sebastian Looking Forward To Season 3

Gwen Sebastian.

Gwen Sebastian, a member of Team Blake Shelton on the second season of The Voice, is excited about the new season. The Flying Island Entertainment singer saw her career rise to new heights after competing on last season. She’s performed at the Grand Ole Opry and at CMA Music Festival, hit the road with Blake Shelton, and has been busy on her own tour and visiting radio stations playing her new single “Met Him In A Motel Room.”

She shares a little on her big year and her excitement to watch the new season:

“After being on the show I’ve had an amazing year being able to tour with Blake, performing at the CMA Music Fest, playing the Grand Ole Opry which was a dream come true and opening shows for other country music greats. This year has truly been a year of firsts for me and one that I will never forget after being on “The Voice,” Sebastian enthuses.

Her single “Met Him In A Motel Room” is available on iTunes and is out at country radio.

Gwen Sebastian’s Lucky Road Trouble

Gwen Sebastian.

Flying Island Entertainment’s Gwen Sebastian had quite an adventure out on the road. She was home on her farm in North Dakota after promoting her new single “Met Him In A Motel Room,” when she realized the door of her trailer had been left opened. It’s not clear how long the door was open for, but one of her suitcases had fallen out during the trip. That’s when she received a call at 3 am from a good Samaritan, who had found the suitcase in the middle of the road, and he wanted to return it. Talk about lucky! He left her suitcase at a nearby gas station for Gwen to pick-up.

Gwen is a pretty busy woman these days: out on tour with her former The Voice Coach Blake Shelton as part of his band, and out on the road for her own career. She’s also partnered up with World Vision to help raise awareness for the organization’s work to combat worldwide poverty and injustice. At Gwen’s shows, she will give fans the opportunity to find out more information on how to help World Vision and why it’s so important to help a worthy cause.

Miranda Lambert’s Fastest Girl in Town Hits Billboard

Miranda Lambert has another climber on her hands. Only weeks after “Over You” became the forth number one single of her career, she has a brand new track from “Four The Record” finding its way up the charts. Miranda’s “Fastest Girl in Town” found itself at the fifty-fourth spot on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart for issue date June 2nd, 2012. Her song is also number fifty-five on Mediabase’s Country Singles Chart… not bad for a song that hasn’t yet been named her new official single.

Miranda’s all-girl trio, the Pistol Annies, also have a single on the chart. Their second single “Takin’ Pills” is currently sitting at the 108th spot on the Country top 100 Mediabase spot – one slot behind Gwen Sebastian‘s “Met Him in a Motel Room.”

Miranda’s “ON FIRE” headlining tour continues Friday night in Virginia Beach, VA, then on Saturday in Camden, NJ. She has one more stop after those before heading to Nashville for CMA Fest next week. Will you be there?

It’s the big day for a former The Voice contestant. Gwen Sebastian, a member of this season’s Team Blake, is releasing her brand new single “Met Him In A Motel Room” to iTunes and country music radio today. I had the chance to listen to her single back in February and it’s a touching story about hope. The North Dakota native has been hard at work since her appearance on the show – performing in Blake Shelton‘s band during his Well Lit & Amplified headlining tour this year, and singing “Drink On It” at the Academy of Country Music Awards for the first time this year.

Check out Gwen’s acoustic performance of her new single with radio station KUPL in Portland, OR and let us know what you think of the Team Blake country singer. Don’t forget to get your copy of her pretty new single on iTunes right here.

Say what you will about Blake Shelton‘s sometimes over-the-top humor, but you have to admit that he is an all-around good guy. After inviting eliminated Team Blake member Gwen Sebastian to be part of his touring family, he let the North Dakota native have her time to shine in her home-town last night during his “Well Lit & Amplified” tour. Gwen took center stage to perform a moving rendition of Sugarland‘s “Stay” with Blake’s band backing her up. She received a standing ovation at the end of her performance.

Watch Gwen’s performance of “Stay” in front of her home crowd and make sure to let us know what you think about Gwen joining Blake on tour:

Blake is nominated for the Academy of Country Music’s Entertainer of The Year. The fan voted award is up for votes right now at voteacm.com and fans can vote once a day!

The Voice: Team Blake Recap – Week 7

The Voice

The battle rounds are coming to an end on The Voice, and Team Blake is almost complete!

This week, we saw Jermaine Paul up against ALyX and Erin Willett versus Gwen Sebastian. Two of our favorite girls, Kelly Clarkson and Miranda Lambert, were back to mentor and assist the team. Jermain and Erin got some help from Kelly, while ALyX and Gwen worked with Miranda.

Jermaine vs. ALyX

Jermaine and ALyX performed Billy Ocean’s “Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car” for their battle. Both did a great job and it was a solid fight, but Coach Blake Shelton decided to go with Jermaine.

Jermaine is a seasoned performer with such professionalism and killer voice. He had me the whole round, and I felt like I was at his own concert.

Congratulations to Jermaine! We can’t wait to see you next round. Also, good luck to ALyX! We are sure she will have success.

Blake Shelton Invites Gwen Sebastian On Tour

Last night’s episode of The Voice was the most emotional yet. Even though the very talented Gwen Sebastian was sent home in her Battle Round, coach Blake Shelton made sure that she wasn’t going to give up on her career just yet. He invited her to tour with him on his “Well Lit & Amplified Tour” and she will perform with Blake at the 47th annual Academy of Country Music Awards on April 1st.

Blake is pretty proud of the North Dakota native, and he’s excited to add her to his already talented team:

“The first time I ever heard Gwen’s voice I knew it was something special. She has the rare ability to combine power with passion in her singing abilities. Although our journey together has ended on “The Voice,” it’s just beginning in real life. I’m so proud every night to share the stage with her out here on the ‘WELL LIT & AMPLIFIED TOUR!” She is a star! We love our Gwen,”

As for Gwen it’s a dream come true. She never imagined she’d get the chance to tour with Blake after taking a chance and auditioning for the NBC series:

“Never in a million years would I think that this journey would lead me to be on stage with Blake. I am honored he asked me to become a part of his show and a member of his ‘road family.’ Watching him perform is a learning experience in itself.  He has a big heart and an infectious laugh. Plus, he’s pretty darn funny!”

As for her time on The Voice coming to an end, Gwen is proud of her final performance in the Battle Round:

“I think Blake was right when he said that each of us is so different. I wanted to stay true to my country roots and add that flavor. I thought we each gave our all.”

The ACM Awards air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 1st at 8 pm EST on CBS. Blake will co-host the award show with Reba McEntire for the second year in a row. Make sure to tune in to see how Gwen does!
