The following day, she will sign copies of the new cd at New York’s popular J&R Records, 23 Park Row in Manhattan from noon to 2:00 pm.
Gretchen’s first album in three years, the 13-cut Right On Time hits stores nationwide on Tuesday, April 2. Fans can still hear samples of every cut and pre-order the album at iTunes and Amazon for the special price of $7.99 through Monday, April 1.
Right On Time includes tracks written by Gretchen, Vicky McGehee, Kacey Musgraves, Jim Beavers, Leslie Satcher, Rachel Farley, Shane McAnally, Bekka Bramlett, Billy Burnette, Dennis Morgan and others.
She will be touring heavily in support of the album with dates in Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and throughout the Midwest in the coming months.
Grammy Award-winning artist, Gretchen Wilson, is back in full force and has plenty of new music set to be released this year!
In 2009, Wilson formed her own record company, Redneck Records. Her first album release under her label was her I Got Your Country Right Here CD. The record included the song (and one of my personal Gretchen favorites), “I’d Love To Be Your Last,” and garnered two Grammy nominations.
Wilson’s new album, Right On Time, will hit stores on April 2nd and will feature the single, “Still Rollin.’” The song, penned by Wilson and Vicky McGehee, ships to radio this week.
The critically acclaimed singer/songwriter is very excited for her upcoming releases:
I am very excited to have so much new music coming out this year… We are already touring, and are looking forward to an incredible year with old friends, and new beginnings!
On May 28th, Wilson will also be releasing an album of classic 70s rock hits entitled Under The Covers. And if that isn’t enough new music for all of you fans, she is releasing a full-length Christmas album in October.
We are happy to have all of this Gretchen music to look forward to!
She may be on the Gang of Outlaws Tour with ZZ Top & 3 Doors Down, but NRA Country Artist of the month, Gretchen Wilson, still has her roots firmly planted in country music. Her new single “One Good Friend” hit iTunes today and will be sent to radio soon.
The single was written by Bekka Bramlett, Billy Burnette and Dennis Morgan, and produced by Gretchen and Blake Chancey. Chancey co-produced her last CD, I Got Your Country Right Here, which yielded the Grammy-nominated “I’d Love To Be Your Last.”
The single was love at first listen for Gretchen. “The first time I heard this song it blew me away. “The lyric hit me really hard, and fans at the ZZ Top shows are telling me it’s doing the same thing to them.”
Although she may seem a bit of an outcast on her current tour, Gretchen has nothing but raves about her current gig. “It’s been a blast out there,” she added. “People are coming up to me and saying, ‘I’ve never heard of you, but I’m buying all of your music!’ This has been a great opportunity to get out and hit a totally new audience.”
The tour will run through the end of June, and fans of Gretchen can purchase an exclusive VIP package that includes an exclusive meet & greet with Gretchen on her tour bus, a VIP-Only Laminate, a guaranteed ticket in one of the first 15 rows of the concert, one-of-a-kind Gretchen Wilson Box Set, personal photo taken with Gretchen, and an autographed copy of her critically acclaimed I Got Your Country Right Here album. In what might be one of this year’s hottest touring packages, Gretchen Wilson has joined 3 Doors Down on ZZ Top‘s “Gang Of Outlaws” tour. The tour, which kicks off May 25th in Manchester, NH’s Verizon Arena, will bring all three to select southern and mid southern venues across the United States. See a full list of their tour dates together below.
Fans might be familiar with southern rock group 3 Doors Down for their number one hits “Here Without You,” “Kryptonite,” and, “When I’m Gone.” Just because they might not be the most ‘country’ act on the bill doesn’t mean that they aren’t excited! Lead singer Brad Arnold had a lot to say on the tour:
“The tour is huge! We have the honor to share the stage with some amazing artists, including one of my favorite bands, ZZ Top! We can’t wait to bring Gang Of Outlaws to your town.”
Gretchen, who will make appearances on most of the tour dates, (see below for which ones), is also pretty pumped about the line-up:
“Obviously I couldn’t be more excited that I am to be part of this tour… Fabulous guys, fabulous musicians!”
Check out the official tour dates below and let us know if you’re planning on heading out to any!
Gretchen Wilson is still mourning the loss of her Uncle Vern, who passed away suddenly from a heart attack back in September. He was 44. Gretchen shared the 260-acre ranch with her Uncle and her daughter, Grace, and she has decided that it’s too hard to live on the ranch without him.
In a statement to the Tennessean, Gretchen says:
“We just can’t be there without him,” Wilson says. “It’s not the same anymore, everywhere I look, I see him. I miss him.”
She hopes that whoever purchases the farm will enjoy it like her family did:
“It’s a great place for a tight family,” she says. “That was our dream, to live and work together there. The dream will have to live on for someone else now.”
Gretchen Wilson has canceled her Lebanon, Tennessee show on October 15th because of a scheduling conflict. The concert was scheduled to be at the Wilson Country Fairgrounds. Around 100 tickets have already been sold for the concert, which was to raise money for Bradley’s Barn Project. All tickets will be refunded, and Gretchen expects a new date in Spring 2012.
Event organizers believe a Spring date will be better for the fund-raising efforts, since they will be able to say what they are planning on building and where funds will go at that time. Proceeds were to go in the memory of the late producer Owen Bradley, and to re-create a barn where he recorded Brenda Lee, Roy Robinson, and Ernest Tubb. Organizers want to create a concert venue for musicians and a recording studio with money raised at the concert, and the Bradley family has agreed to donate the recording equipment originally used by Owen for the new venue.
