When we caught wind of just how incredible Carrie Underwood‘s 2012 was, we were simply blown away. Not only were we amazed by the laundry list of successful moments Carrie experienced, but we were exhausted just thinking about everything Carrie accomplished in only 366 days (Leap Year, y’all … are we observant, or what?)! The following is what Carrie’s year consisted of:
If you read our interview with Jenny & Ashley from a few weeks ago, you will remember us asking the girls when we would see their cover video for Carrie Underwood‘s hit “Good Girl.” Well, the wait is over and the video is here! The cover song is an original arrangement of Carrie’s song and in the video, Jenny portrays the “good girl” while younger sister, Ashley portrays the “bad girl.”
“Good Girl” is the lead single off of Carrie Underwood’s latest record Blown Away. The song has landed at #5 on Billboard’s country chart and #25 on the Hot 100 chart.
What do you think of the video and the arrangement? We love it! Be sure to let us know below and don’t forget to check out our recent interview with the girls if you haven’t already, here!

Looking as stunning as ever, Carrie performed her smash hit “Good Girl,” joined by her rocking band and 4 dancers.
It’s been all perfect-10′s for Carrie lately who scored a second week atop the Billboard Album Chart this week with her album “Blown Away“!

Carrie Underwood’s “Good Girl” is getting great reception from radio.
The single was released to radio just a few days ago (Feb. 23) and it’s already cracked the Top 40. It debuted in today’s Mediabase chart, first appearing at #40 and then officially moving up to #37. Clearly, with “Good Girl,” Carrie’s got a climber!
“Good Girl” is the lead single off of Carrie’s upcoming album, which will be released on May 1. The song is co-written by Carrie along with Chris DeStefano and Ashley Gorley. It’s produced by Mark Bright, who produced her two previous albums as well as seven tracks from her debut album Some Hearts. Read our review of the single here. (Spoiler alert: We like it!)
The single is currently available exclusively on iTunes. It will be available through Amazon.com on Tuesday Feb. 28.
Since her recording debut in 2005, the American Idol winner has sold more than 14 million albums with Some Hearts, 2007’s Carnival Ride, and 2009’s Play On. She’s a five-time GRAMMY Award winner, a two-time Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year, a three-time Country Music Association and ACM Female Vocalist winner, and a proud member of the Grand Ole Opry.
If that’s not enough, she’s joined Twitter! Carrie can officially be found at @carrieunderwood. There have been plenty of fakes out there, but this one is finally the real deal!
(UPDATE 2/27: “Good Girl” leaps to #32 this morning! Chart positions are not official until the end of the week, so it will be interesting to see how high it climbs.)
(UPDATE 2/28: “Good Girl” at #28 in this morning’s report.)
(UPDATE 2/29: “Good Girl” at #24!)
Carrie Underwood has finally joined the Twitter world! It’s about time, right? That’s what we were thinking. Carrie made her Twitter debut about 4 hours ago, with the tweet “Hello Twitter World!” She then tweeted again a few hours ago:
@CarrieUnderwood: “Excited to have another way to connect with my fans from my team and me…can’t wait to hear from you!”
Watch out, Carrie! It’s addicting!

When it comes to Carrie Underwood songs, you could classify them into two categories: “Lace Carrie” who sings sweet songs like “Don’t Forget To Remember Me,” “Temporary Home” and “Mama’s Song.” Then there’s “Leather Carrie” who is more rockin’ with songs like “Before He Cheats,” “Cowboy Casanova” and “Undo It.”
With “Good Girl” Carrie breaks out the leather — with studs.
The song leaves little doubt where it’s going to take us from the very beginning with its rock guitar licks, head-nodding drum beat and contagious hand-clapping. Then Carrie kicks in. Or maybe better stated: she kicks it in! Her delivery is smart, strong and sometimes even snarling. There aren’t any of those long, powerful vocal moments that will bring everybody out of their seats when she sings it live in concert. That’s okay as the song will already have people on their feet. Besides, Carrie doesn’t need any of those “Mariah Carey” moments to prove her vocal power. Her voice is in a class all by itself. She’s so good, it would be easy to take her for granted. It would be a sad day if that ever were to happen.
It would appear Carrie Underwood is just as excited as her fans are for the release of her new single, “Good Girl.” So much so, that she’s even leaking a little bit of the song herself.
The highly anticipated single isn’t due to hit radio for another two days (Feb. 23). But that didn’t stop Carrie from giving us an advance taste of the tune. As the singer jokingly says, “What are they gonna do to me?”
She posted this video that she shot during the final days of her working on her new album. As she takes us into the control room, we can hear part of the song, which, as you will hear, is really rockin’!
Carrie’s new album, produced by Mark Bright, will be released on May 1st. The album still doesn’t have a name. But it’s a safe bet that we will be calling it her fourth straight album to debut at #1.
