What do you get when you bring Sarah Darling, Jenn Bostic, and Emily Brooke together for one night only? An evening jam-packed with incredible talent and fun, as well as the unique opportunity to see three extremely different artists team up to entertain one South Florida crowd. Sarah, Jenn, and Emily have decided to join forces with Tiki 52 (a Jupiter, Florida restaurant/bar) and Miller Lite on Wednesday night, February 26th, for a show like no other. In one show, the audience will get a well-known, long-time country artist with charted hits and television cameos galore; a country/pop artist with a collection of awards and acclaim in the United Kingdom; and an up and coming country artist who is sure to be among the next wave of young talent entering the music industry. And, as if that isn’t enough, the concert will benefit “For the Linds,” an organization created in memory of Warner Music Nashville’s Lindsay Walleman, who passed away from Sarcoma at the young age of twenty-eight. Does it get any better than this?

REVIEW: The Swon Brothers in South Florida

Photo by Sara Kauss / www.sarakaussmusicians.com

S wonderful! ‘S marvelous! That’s what rang through my head as I watched The Swon Brothers tear up the South Florida Fair stage during their “Swoncert” (try saying that … it rolls right off the tongue) in front of a rowdy crowd. After seeing The Swon Brothers live, this much is clear – these boys were born to be on stage.

The Voice Season 4 Finalists, Zach and Colton Swon, spent their show covering songs ranging from country to classic rock to classic country rock. The boys barreled through the starting line with a cover of Randy Houser‘s “How Country Feels” and quickly transitioned into the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band‘s “Fishin’ In the Dark” (much to our amazing photographer friend, Sara Kauss‘, excitement). The guys manifested their uncanny abilities to harmonize with one another without ever making evident that one brother’s vocal prowess is any more superior than the other.

REVIEW: Cassadee Pope’s Hometown Show

Photo by Sara Kauss / www.sarakaussmusicians.com

For children who want to be performers when they are older, it is common to sit and dream the day away, hoping that one day they will play for large crowds. It is typical to sit in an audience and envision themselves on that stage, showcasing their talents for everybody to see. However, the painstaking rule is that the dream often never becomes a reality. West Palm Beach native, Cassadee Pope, is the exception to that rule. As a child, Cassadee attended the South Florida Fair and watched her predecessors perform, hopeful, but never expectant, that she, too, would grace that stage one day. Last night, one of Cassadee’s childhood dreams came to fruition as she stood on that very stage, looking out, rather than looking in.

Cassadee, an artist who should not be pigeonholed into one specific genre of music, is a crossover hit in the flesh who needn’t be defined. What sets Cassadee apart from the rest is that her ability to float seamlessly throughout genres doesn’t impinge upon her audience’s ability to know exactly who she is … and that is a kind-hearted, gracious, talented singer/songwriter with a strong head on her shoulders and the world at her fingertips.

Exclusive Interview: Lexi Luca

Lexi Luca The Voice Interview

If you flip through a photo album of Lexi Luca as a baby, or watch her family’s home movies, you will find a pint-sized, pacified performer. While Lexi’s first music video experiences might have consisted of a pacifier, a microphone, and everyone’s favorite giant purple dinosaur, little Lexi has long since progressed! Even though Lexi is tight-lipped about the best moment of her young career thus far (but she promises we can know soon!), this seventeen-year-old West Palm Beach, Florida native has had quite the musical past and, surely, is facing a bright musical future.

EXCLUSIVE: Interview with Caroline Kole

When you speak to Caroline Kole (or hear her speak), you cannot even fathom that she is a teenager. While we had been familiar with Caroline’s name in the past, we fell in love with her during the recent CMA Awards preshow when she walked the red carpet. Caroline has an intelligence, wit, and poise about her that makes her quite the teenage anomaly. However, when Caroline explained to us that she has been involved in music for half of her life, it became clear that Caroline, as a whole, is an exception to the rule. While you may find Caroline studying for an upcoming Physics test and keeping up-to-date on her school assignments one day, you could find her opening for Reba McEntire the next. And, by virtue of her humble, grateful attitude, Caroline might seem like an everyday teenager … but let’s be real, there is nothing run of the mill about her!

EXCLUSIVE: Interview with Jimmy Wayne

Jimmy Wayne.

I recently was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to speak with country singer/songwriter, author, advocate, philanthropist, and all around incredible human being, Jimmy Wayne. I learned a lot about Jimmy during our time together, including how he became involved with country music, the work he does to raise awareness of important issues, and the fact that he will never come visit me in South Florida (thanks to alligators and the “Stand Your Ground” law). Despite my disdain about the fact that he won’t be jet-setting my way in the foreseeable future, I feel like my conversation with Jimmy was eye-opening and life-changing. It is my honor and an incredible privilege to share with all of you my interview with Mr. Jimmy Wayne!

Country Music Hits the Sands of Sunny South Florida

When you think country music, you typically envision open fields, farms, little green tractors, cowboy boots, and ten-gallon hats. When you think Kenny Chesney, you think all of those things – plus a little blue chair. Now take all of those things and add in the warm, beautiful beaches of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and a great cause and you have the incredibly exciting inaugural Tortuga Music Festival!

Kenny Chesney, along with pop, rock, and other country artists (20+ artists, mind you) you will be participating in Rock the Ocean’s first ever beach concert event on April 13-14. The artists will perform on three stages, each of which is directly on the beach. The lineup includes Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, The Avett Brothers, Ben Harper & Charlie Musselwhite, Gary Allan, Jake Owen, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Gary Clark, Jr., Eli Young Band, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Grace Potter, Kip Moore, Gloriana, G. Miami Has Gone Country

BCS_2013_Concert_Photos_Miami1

As many of you know, we are just moments away from kickoff at the BCS National Championship game between Number 1 Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Number 2 University of Alabama Crimson Tide. As you also know (if you are avid readers of our blog — and we know you are!), the Zac Brown Band will be leading the crowd in the National Anthem just prior to the beginning of this highly-coveted event. However, the boys of the Zac Brown Band aren’t the only country boys helping celebrate the big game! Dierks Bentley lent his talents to last night’s fan experience, along side Flo Rida, while Luke Bryan entertained the game-goers today at SunLife Stadium (home of the Miami Dolphins) at the Bud Light Game Day Fan Zone!

Miami, Florida is buzzing with excitement and some of our favorite country boys are there to enjoy the fun! Don’t forget to tune in to catch the Zac Brown Band … you may catch a glimpse of some other country music spectators as well! The game begins at 8:00 p.m. EST on ESPN. Tune in now! And, have I said “Roll Tide” lately? Oh yeah, I think I have …
