Martina McBride Announces Everlasting Tour

Martina McBride

Superstar Martina McBride’s most recent album entitled Everlasting features twelve classic soul and R&B songs, to which McBride adds her own spin with her flawless voice.  Now fans will get to hear the songs live as McBride begins her Everlasting tour throughout the country this summer.

Rehearsals for the tour, which kicks off on May 8 in Salina, KS are underway, and McBride could not be more excited to share her new music with her fans.  She aims to create a show directly out of the 60’s and 70’s to accompany the classic feel of the album.

“It’s coming out exactly as I dreamed it,” she says. “It’s so much fun, and I want it to really be a visual experience for the audience as well as a musical experience. So, it’s a little bit of a throwback to Motown. We’ve got the guys all in matching suits. I’ve got a horn section for the first time — a four-piece horn section. We’ve got a three-piece background vocal section. I’ve never carried a background vocal section, so that’s a lot of fun.”

The tour is completely different than anything fans have seen from McBride or any other artist recently.  McBride explains, “I think it’s really unique and fresh, and the fact that we only get to do it for a short period of time is … I’m missing it before it even starts, so I really hope people come out and experience it because it’s gonna be really special.”

As she continues planning and rehearsing for the Everlasting Tour, McBride has even more to celebrate. Her Everlasting album went straight to number one on the Billboard charts when it was released on April 7.

Of this honor, McBride told CMT, “It’s really special and gratifying. You never know how people are going to react to it — whether they’re going to like it or not like it — so it’s always a little nerve-wracking to put any new music out. It feels good when you work so hard on a project that you really believe in and love, and people accept it.”

It’s safe to say that the memories from Martina McBride’s tour, like the songs from her latest album, will be everlasting.

Martina McBride’s soulful album, Everlasting, will hit stores on April 8, but she is teasing fans with the new material. Today, she released “Suspicious Minds,” made famous by Elvis Presley.

“There aren’t very many female versions of that song,” McBride says to USA Today, but “it makes sense for a woman to sing it. I focused on the lyrics on this record. This one is about reacting to jealousy and being possessive. Which women can really relate to.”

Martina McBride’s New Album “Everlasting” Coming In March

Martina McBride

One of country music’s best vocalists of all-time will be releasing an album of classics on March 4, 2014!

Martina McBride’s new album Everlasting will feature iconic songs. Tracks will include “Do Right Woman, Do Right Man” made famous by Aretha Franklin, “If You Don’t Know Me By Now” from Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, and the Jimmy Ruffin hit “What Becomes Of The Brokenhearted.”

The four-time CMA Female Vocalist of the Year shared:

“These songs have beautiful melodies and emotional lyrics, which is basically all you can ask for as a singer. While this is a bit of a departure for me song-wise, stylistically I approached these songs the way I always have which is singing with as much soul and emotion as I possibly can.” “I think my fans will love this record because they are some of the best songs of all time done in a very classic style. I’m so excited for them to hear it and to take this record, complete with a horn section, on the road in the spring.”

We can’t wait to hear this!

The album will also feature a collaboration with Gavin DeGraw on “Bring It On Home,” originally sung by Sam Cooke.

Produced by Grammy winning producer Don Was, Everlasting will be released on McBride’s own label through Kobalt label services. The full track listing will be revealed soon and we’ll keep you posted.
