Let’s catch up with Team Blake!

Last week on The Voice was an emotional time for Coach Blake Shelton and the contestants with two eliminations.

RaeLynn, Jordis, Erin, and Jermaine took the stage last Monday giving us some great performances. At the end of the show, however, Blake had to make an elimination live on the spot. He decided to let the previous rounds’ votes dictate the outcome and let Jordis go home. That left RaeLynn, Erin, and Jermaine to compete for America’s votes.

On last Tuesday’s results show, it was announced that Jermaine was the highest vote-getter for Team Blake. RaeLynn and Erin were in jeopardy and both had to perform for their life. It was a tough decision for Blake, but he chose to save Erin.

And then there were two….

Monday Night…

RaeLynn

RaeLynn performing Jason Aldean’s “She’s Country.” She is such a little country pistol.

Jordis

Jordis performing Sara Evans’ “A Little Bit Stronger.” I thought this was her best performance of the competition. I loved getting to hear her sing a non-rock song.

Erin

Erin performing Adele’s “Set Fire To The Rain.” I love Erin’s big voice. She is just a natural vocalist.

Jermaine

Jermaine performing Phil Collins’ “Against All Odds.” Jermaine is a pro on the stage… he belongs there.

The Voice: Team Blake Recap – Week 9

The Voice kicked off their live shows last night!

The competition is now in full force with the fate of the contestants placed in America’s hands.

Each of the six members from Team Blake and Team Christina took the stage for a solo performance. Tonight, the votes will provide a bottom three from each team. Then, Blake and Christina will each save one contestant and two people from each team will be sent home.

Team Blake did a great job, and came out ready to win.

Jermaine Paul

Jermaine started the night with a rockin’ performance of Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ On A Prayer.” Jermaine is a top-notched performer and he surely knows how to grab an audience. I loved how he started the song rising from the floor in the audience and then was able to cover the whole room without missing a beat.

RaeLynn

Next up for Team Blake was seventeen-year-old, RaeLynn. She took on Maroon 5′s “Wake Up Call” and gave it a country spin. I always enjoy when artists change up a hit song and give it a cool, new twist. It is especially great when the cover crosses genres. RaeLynn is currently the highest Team Blake members on the iTunes chart for her version of “Wake Up Call.”

Naia Kete

Naia performed Adele’s “Turning Tables.” There was question about whether she should have done a reggae version of the song, but I thought Naia sounded great and I really liked her version. She has such a cool sounding and unique voice, and I thought she had one of the better performances last night.

Jordis Unga

Joris was next for Team Blake, and she performed “Alone” by Heart. I have been a fan of Jordis since Rockstar: INXS, and “Alone” is one of my favorite songs. I thought Jordis and that song were the perfect match, and her vocals sounded back in full force. She definitely gave one of my favorite performances of the night.

Erin Willett

For Erin’s performance, she sang Stevie Wonder’s “Living For The City” and she killed it. Blake said it was the best vocal of the night, and I agree with him. Erin has a natural, big voice and I love it. She was another one of my favorite performances.

Charlotte Sometimes

Charlotte Sometimes was the last member of Team Blake to take the stage. She performed Paramore’s “Misery Business” and she brought the house down. I thought she was awesome, and she just has such a cool sound to her voice. I would say that she and Erin were my top two from last night.

Awesome job, Team Blake!

And there you have it…

The Voice‘s battle rounds are now complete, and six members from each team are moving on to the live shows.

As we already know, Team Blake consists of RaeLynn, Jordis, Charlotte Sometimes, Erin Willett, Jermaine Paul… and tonight Naia Kete was added to the group!

Coach Blake Shelton paired Naia up against country boy, Jordan Rager. The amazingly talented Kelly Clarkson and Miranda Lambert were there once again to help mentor the team.

For the battle, Naia and Jordan performed Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours.” As the coaches pointed out, we have seen better from both contestants and their full skills were not on display this round. When it was time for Blake to make a decision, he decided to advance Naia to the live shows.

Naia vs. Jordan

Naia is very unique and we are sure she will shine next week! We are looking forward to seeing her perform again. We will miss Jordan with his country rasp and charm, but we wish him the best of luck and know we will be seeing great things from him.

And we are so excited for Team Blake! They definitely are a strong group of artists, and now it’s time to take on the competition.

The Voice: Team Blake Recap – Week 7

The battle rounds are coming to an end on The Voice, and Team Blake is almost complete!

This week, we saw Jermaine Paul up against ALyX and Erin Willett versus Gwen Sebastian. Two of our favorite girls, Kelly Clarkson and Miranda Lambert, were back to mentor and assist the team. Jermain and Erin got some help from Kelly, while ALyX and Gwen worked with Miranda.

Jermaine vs. ALyX

Jermaine and ALyX performed Billy Ocean’s “Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car” for their battle. Both did a great job and it was a solid fight, but Coach Blake Shelton decided to go with Jermaine.

Jermaine is a seasoned performer with such professionalism and killer voice. He had me the whole round, and I felt like I was at his own concert.

Congratulations to Jermaine! We can’t wait to see you next round. Also, good luck to ALyX! We are sure she will have success.

Erin vs. Gwen

With their beautiful vocals and heartfelt performance, Erin and Gwen had the best and most emotional battle of the night with their rendition of Pat Benatar’s “We Belong.” They moved everyone to tears. We cried over Erin’s terrible loss of her dad and her strength to stay in the competition for him. We cried for Gwen’s beautiful spirit and graciousness. And we cried for the friendship that these two contestants obviously share. Erin and Gwen are two of my favorite contestants this season, and I think they are so talented.

Blake decided to have Erin move on to the next round. However, being the generous and ever supportive coach that he is, Blake recently asked Gwen to join his Well Lit & Amplified Tour and also to perform with him at the ACM Awards on April 1st. Could you ask for a better coach and friend than Blake? He is something special. You can read more of the story here.

Congratulations to Erin! We are very excited to have her on Team Blake. And best of luck to Gwen! We love her and know that she is going to have a great career.

Team Blake is half-way complete!

On Monday night, The Voice continued with the blind audition rounds and Blake Shelton gained three new team members.

Last week, we introduced you to RaeLynn, Gwen Sebastian, and Jermaine Paul. Joining Team Blake this week is Erin Willett, Jordis Unga, and Brian Fuente.

Let’s meet them…

Erin Willett

Erin was born and raised in Gaithersburg, Maryland. She attended Hofstra University in Long Island, New York and moved to Brooklyn after graduation. Erin auditioned with a fantastic version of the Jackson 5′s “I Want You Back.”

Jordis Unga

Jordis hails from St. Paul, Minnesota. You may remember Jordis from CBS’ Rock Star: INXS, which aired the summer of 2005. She finished fifth on the show and has been praised for her awesome rendition of The Who classic, “Baba O’Riley.”

For the blind audition, Jordis brought down the house with a rockin’ cover of the Paul McCartney timeless song, “Maybe I’m Amazed.”

Brian Fuente

Brian is a Nashville native, and graduated from Mississippi State. He auditioned with Grace Potter’s “Paris (Ooh La La).” We did not get to see the whole performance during the live broadcast, but what we heard sounded amazing.

As I said last week, the contestants all have a blog over on The Voice official website. Here is a small excerpt from Brian:

I am so glad to be on Team Blake! There are no words to describe the feeling that I had when that chair turned around. This has been a life changing experience and I am so excited to be sharing it with all of my new fans!
