Last week, we posted the story of Maddie Higgins, a 6-year-old girl with terminal brain cancer who had a big wish to meet Kelly Clarkson. Our fans responded so well to that post that we wanted to keep you updated on Maddie’s situation and help to raise awareness for her fight.
Although her wish to meet Kelly hasn’t come true yet, she was able to have another wish granted, and that was to see snow. The story has been featured by the NY Daily News, CNN, the Huffington Post and more. Now we want to help Maddie get Ellen’s attention. We are posting this in conjunction with Kinsley’s Kure, an organization working to change the lives of terminal kids.
We’d love if our awesome readers help us spread this message, get #FightforMaddie trending, and grab the attention of Ellen. Help us help Maddie! Head to Twitter and start tweeting! Don’t forget to include #FightforMaddie in all of your tweets!

We are returning to our regularly scheduled programming with our “Video Picks of the Week.”
This week’s music video is the Pistol Annie‘s hit first single, “Hell on Heels.” The Annies sure were a surprise this year, but what an awesome surprise they were. “Hell on Heels” is one of my favorite songs of the year and Miranda Lambert, Angaleena Presley, and Ashley Monroe’s voices blend so well together. They are the perfect country trio.
This week’s live performance pick is Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson performing their cross-over mega hit “Don’t You Wanna Stay” on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “Don’t You Wanna Stay” was definitely one of the biggest and best songs of 2011 as well as one of my favorites. Aldean and Clarkson made great duet partners, and the song earned them a nomination for “Best Country Duo/Group Performance” at the upcoming 54th Grammy Awards.
Taylor Swift is pretty much unstoppable. She had another huge year and wrapped up her widely successful “Speak Now World Tour.” As you probably know, Swift performed a cover song by a hometown artist in most cities along the tour run. When she stopped in Philly, she did a mash-up of Pink’s “Who Knew” and TLC’s “Unpretty.” It was one of my favorites from the whole tour. What was your favorite? Thank-you to Taylor’s fan for sharing the concert videos.

Taylor Swift was the latest country star to stop by the always-funny Ellen DeGeneres show yesterday. She was promoting her new fragrance “Wonderstruck,” but Ellen put her in the hot seat and grilled her on her relationship status, being named Billboard’s Woman Of The Year and a few other things going on in her life right now. American Idol, Scotty McCreery, has been everywhere lately. After a whirlwind summer traveling the country on the American Idol Tour and working on his record, McCreery is not slowing down. He has been doing the promo run this week in support of his debut album, Clear As Day, which dropped yesterday. He performed on The Today Show, Live With Regis & Kelly, and had his own GAC Special entitled Introducing: Scotty McCreery.
And the television appearances continue for the young singer. Later, McCreery will be stopping by The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. He will also be on The Ellen Degeneres Show this Friday, October 7.
McCreery’s new album is available now. Make sure you check it out!
