Hannah Blaylock Leaves Edens Edge

Edens Edge took to their website and twitter this morning to announce that one of their founding members, Hannah Blaylock, has sadly left the trio. Cherrill Green and Dean Berner posted this message for their fans this morning on their site:

Edens Edge said farewell to a founding member of the group, who left upon her own accord and with much disappointment. They played their final show on February 22, 2013 at The Grand Ole Opry. The Arkansas natives made their sentimental Opry debut on March 5th, 2011. Dean found the location of their last show to be beautifully ironic as, “The Opry stage is a place that artists begin living the first pages of their journey and many times it is the last place they play before their earthly journey ends and tonight we couldn’t have asked for a better place to open this new chapter for Edens Edge than on such a gracious stage.”

Dean & Cherrill would like to personally thank Scott Borchetta for his belief and support in Edens Edge. They’re forever grateful for the time spent inside the Big Machine family.

Personal message from Dean: “We’re literally living on the “edge” right now, as we regroup, write, and the next chapter of our band is revealed. It’s a crazy but exciting time, and we hope everyone will join us on the journey.”

Personal message from Cherrill: “One of my favorite parts of the past few years, in addition to amazing tours and performing on the Opry stage, was getting to make and meet fans. Feeling supported and loved as you are following your dreams is one of the most amazing gifts. I can’t thank the fans enough, and we can’t wait to get back out there and see them all again.”

Cherrill and Dean have announced that they are still writing and recording new music, although it looks as though they’re no longer part of the Big Machine family. “The new freedom we have in the writing process has injected creativity and life into every lyric. It has allowed us to create songs that are true to the love for traditional sounds that brought us together but we’re also taking some unconventional risks with regard to collaborations, new faces and content. We’re pushing our own boundaries. I can’t wait for our wonderfully loyal fans to hear what we’ve been working away on,” said Cherrill, excitedly.

Edens Edge was formed back in 2004 and was signed in 2010 by Scott Borchetta to Big Machine Records. Currently, Edens Edge is listed as an Archived Artist on the Big Machine website.

Deans priority is to get Edens Edge back on the road to perform for fans. “We will never be the same as we were before, but we believe that the changes will lead to a more exciting and electrically engaging stage show.”

Big Machine and Clear Channel Announce Groundbreaking Agreement

The Big Machine Label Group is home to such artists as Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts and Eden’s Edge on Big Machine Records, as well as Reba McEntire, Justin Moore, Brantley Gilbert, The Mavericks and Thomas Rhett on Valory Music Co. The group announced today that they are partnering with Clear Channel Media and Entertainment to align their business interests and accelerate growth and innovation in digital radio to the benefit of music fans and radio listeners everywhere.

Through this agreement, Big Machine (and its artists) will become the first record company to directly participate in Clear Channel’s terrestrial broadcast radio revenues. For Big Machine Label President and CEO Scott Borchetta, it was a no brainer. Borchetta said, “In Clear Channel, I found partners who shared my big-picture view of how we could structure an agreement to benefit all involved. Not only does this partnership enable Big Machine to participate in terrestrial broadcast revenues, but we are also helping to grow digital radio – a great opportunity for all of us and a breakthrough opportunity for Big Machine artists.”

Cracker Barrel Connects with Country Music Fans at CMA Fest

Cracker Barrel has become a home for country music and Americana, so it’s only fitting for the restaurant to be a part of 2012 CMA Music Fest. Thanks to Cracker Barrel, fans will have the opportunity to meet artists, catch performance and win prizes from artists who have participated in Cracker Barrel’s exclusive music program.

“The success of the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store exclusive music program is really due to the passion of the fans,” explains the program’s marketing manager, Julie Craig. ”We want to have a chance to meet them and say thank you, as well as introduce new fans to the great music available at their local Cracker Barrel.”

Cracker Barrel Offers Up Deluxe Edition of Eden’s Edge Debut Album

Country newcomers Eden’s Edge will be releasing an exclusive deluxe edition of their self-titled debut album with some help from Cracker Barrel. The Big Machine Record group will release both the standard and deluxe editions of their CD on June 12th, marking the first time that Cracker Barrel has ever released their deluxe version on the same day as the album’s wide release.

The band, originally from Arkansas,consists of lead vocalist Hannah Blaylock, and guitarists/backup-singers/multi-instrumentalists, Dean Berner and Cherrill Green, wrote half of the songs on the album, as well as the 3 bonus tracks on the Cracker Barrel release. “Growing up in small towns, we’re huge fans of home cooking and a family-style environment. Now that we’re on the road most of the year, we often find ourselves seated at Cracker Barrels across the country. It’s so exciting that one of our favorite places has asked us to be a part of their exclusive music program and give our mutual fans an extra helping of our favorite songs,” said Green.

“Our working with Cracker Barrel is a perfect fit. We started pickin’ and singing music with friends and family on front porches in our home state of Arkansas. Blake Shelton Hosting 2nd Annual NRA Country Shoot

The Academy of Country Music’s Entertainer of the Year nominee Blake Shelton will once again be hosting the NRA Country / ACM Celebrity Shoot in Las Vegas before the ACM awards this year. The event takes place on Saturday, March 31st as part of The Week Vegas Goes Country. This year’s celebrity shoot is presented by SoundGear by LaPierre, and features a two-course 10-station 40 target sporting clay competition for 20 teams of 5 people. Each team will have a celebrity captain, and prizes will be awarded to the event’s top celebrity shooter and top team.

Celebrities joining the shoot this year include Lee Brice, Craig Campbell, Cowboy Troy, Ira Dean, Edens Edge, Jake Owen, Thomas Rhett, Outdoor Channel’s Lee and Tiffany Lakosky and Nick Mundt, TNA Impact wrestling stars Jeff Hardy and James Storm, plus more stars to be announced. The event will be emceed by Storme Warren of GAC’s Headline Country and will take place at the Desert Hills Shooting Club.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Wounded Warriors Project, The Folds Of Honor Foundation, and the Nellis Air Force Base Youth Programs.

Rascal Flatts Announce Summer Tour

Rascal Flatts announced today they will launch a brand new tour beginning this summer, Farmers Insurance presents “The American Band Tour.” The tour will feature an all band set-up with Little Big Town, Eli Young Band and Edens Edge opening. The shows will begin in Hartford, Conn., on June 15 at the Comcast Theatre.

“We are always looking for new ways to re-energize our live shows,” says Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts. “We thought bringing out these bands, whom are among some of our favorite vocal groups, would make a great night of entertainment!”

Rascal Flatts will wrap their current “Thaw Out Tour” on February 18, shortly before their eighth studio album, Changed, is released on April 3. The band’s current single, “Banjo,” jsut cracked the top 20 on Mediabase.
