Dolly Parton Visits The Daily Show
Country music legend Dolly Parton was the guest on the always-funny Daily Show With Jon Stewart late last night. In her interview with the comedian, she discussed her new movie “Joyful Noise” which she stars alongside Queen Latifah. She gave away what happened behind the scenes on set and what it was like filming the fighting scene in the movie with Queen Latifah.

Kellie Pickler Enjoys Busy Holiday Season
Kellie Pickler is one busy woman these days. While she gets ready to release her brand new studio album “100 Proof” on January 24th, she has found some time to enjoy the holiday season this year. She will be all over television for the Christmas season, including both the CMA Country Christmas special and a guest appearance on Michael Buble‘s Christmas special.
Tonight, catch Kellie performing “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” on the CMA Country Christmas special airing at 9 pm EST on ABC. Next week, Kellie will join Michael Buble on his first holiday special “A Michael Buble Christmas.” Her duet with Michael on “White Christmas” airs on Tuesday, December 6th.
“Michael and the entire cast was so warm and welcoming,” said Kellie. “They made me feel all ‘Buble,’” she laughed
Kellie Pickler is anxious to release her new album in January, which she feels showcases her more traditional country roots. “100 Proof” was influenced by artists like Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, and Tammy Wynette.

Glee goes country!
On tonight’s episode entitled “I Kissed A Girl”, Coach Beiste portrayed by Dot-Marie Jones will take on the Dolly Parton classic hit, “Jolene.” It is set to be an emotional performance.

Country Stars Team Up For Grammy Cares Auction
A few of country music’s brightest stars have joined the Grammy Foundation’s Music Cares auction that starts today until December 5th on eBay. Eric Church, Dolly Parton, Miranda Lambert, Diamond Rio and Tim McGraw are just some of the artists who have donated items to the online auction.
Prizes up for grabs include a Rolling Stone autographed vinyl magazine by Miranda Lambert or one from Dolly Parton, guitar lessons from Diamond Rio’s Jimmy Olander, signed music memorabilia from Tim McGraw and an autographed guitar from Eric Church. They join superstars from all genres of music including Barry Manilow, Mick Jagger, Coldplay, Gavin DeGraw, LMFAO, Paramore and many more!
One of the auction items up for grabs are tickets to the 2012 Grammy Afterparty.

The Band Perry Will Perform At “O” Awards
The Band Perry have been announced as one of the performers for MTV’s “O Music Awards 2.” The award show recognizes artists in all genres of music involved in digital/online culture. The show airs lives on the internet on Monday, October 31st on the award show’s official site.
The show’s official website says it will honor the best in digital music, including Twitter, Facebook and music apps for your phone and iPods.
Country music nominees include Blake Shelton – “Must-Follow Artist On Twitter,” Dolly Parton – “Best Vintage Viral Video,” and Taylor Swift – “Fan Army FTW.”
Dolly Parton’s New Movie Trailer
Have you seen the trailer for Dolly Parton’s new movie yet? She’s set to star in the full-length move “Joyful Noise” in 2012 alongside Queen Latifah. It looks good from this preview alone! The Todd Graff directed film features the two women who have to learn to work together for the sake of a local gospel choir after the leader dies. Dolly plays the part of the choir director’s wife, and Queen Latifah is the mother of two teenagers. From the clip below, it looks like the two have awesome chemistry. Also in the movie are Keke Palmer and Courtney B. Vance.
The movie will be released to theaters on January 13th, 2012. It’s Dolly’s first film since she was in “Straight Talk” in 1992.

Dolly Parton Headed to Tonight Show Friday
Dolly Parton is headed to the Tonight Show With Jay Leno this Friday night. She’ll perform her new single, “Together You And I” on the program. “Together You and I” is the lead-off single from her brand new studio album, “Better Day,” which hits stores and digital outlets on June 28th.
You can catch Dolly’s performance near the end of the program. The Tonight Show With Jay Leno airs at 11:35 pm ET on NBC.
Dolly will also launch her world tour in Knoxville, TN on July 17th. For a full list of tour dates, see Dolly’s official website.
Dolly’s Back June 28th
Dolly Parton is set to release an all-new studio album titled “Better Day” on June 28th. This will be the first album on her own label, Dolly Records, (which is still a part of Warner Music Nashville). Dolly’s looking for fans to be a part of the music video for her lead single, Together You And I. The music video is directed by Trey Fanjoy. She’s looking for fans around the world to submit videos of “human chains” near city and hometown landmarks. For more details see Dolly’s official contest page HERE.
Together You And I will premiere on the Ellen show on May 27th, and will be released to worldwide radio stations the same day after her live performance. Better Day is the first studio album from Dolly since 2008.
